Toby Keith announced this week that his album out in November will be a second greatest hits, rather than a new studio album. I figured this was coming, since his last GH was before his career really took off with "How Do You Like Me Now". Since then, he's had 12 major hits:
"How Do You Like Me Now" "Country Comes To Town" "You Really Shouldn't Kiss Me Like This" "I'm Just Talking About Tonight" "I Wanna Talk About Me" "My List" "Courtesy Of The Red, White & Blue" "Who's Your Daddy" "Beer For My Horses" "I Love This Bar" "American Soldier" "Whiskey Girl"
and then 2 that are iffy ("When Love Fades", "Rock You Baby").
I don't really like him anymore (I think he's arrogant & obnoxious), but I'll probably get his hits album eventually.
With Toby releasing a hits CD, that makes 5 major ones coming out this Fall (Toby, Shania, B&D, Terri, George) in addition to Lee Ann Womack & Kenny Rogers recently. Last year was also a big year for hits albums (Alan, Lonestar, Jo Dee, Trace, LeAnn). Any ideas on who'll be next? The Dixie Chicks could have one, but there are other circumstances surrounding them. Maybe Trisha Yearwood, Vince Gill, Travis Tritt, John Michael Montgomery or Diamond Rio again, possibly Sara Evans, Montgomery Gentry, Brad Paisley or Gary Allan.

I agree to some extent...about 1/2 of his songs, I can't stand anymore. My all time favorite is probably how do you like me now, followed by beer for my horses. I can't stand songs like whiskey girl though, and I hope it doesn't stay at #1 for too long. If you ever listen to his GH#1 album tho, it's amazing how far country has come along in the last 10 years
