Reba mentions in her letter on her website that she's touring April through June with two of her favorite country stars. She said it would be a surprise, but wouldn't say who they were.
Wonder who...

I know... oooh the suspense! Terri Clark posted a message to her fanclub members saying she was touring with one of her favorite musicians and idols but couldn't announce it yet, but I'm not sure if it's Reba, because Terri will be in Australia in April. I would imagine we'll find out this week or next though.

Reba's own site is reporting today that she's up to #10 on both Billboard and R&R this week.

Reba's own site is reporting today that she's up to #10 on both Billboard and R&R this week. Woohoo! Her 54th Top 10 hit in Billboard. She's one away from Dolly's record of 55 for women.

Turns out her site's wrong (again) and she only moved up to #12. Still a nice move, and she should be top 10 next week.

From Reba.com:
This week, HE GETS THAT FROM ME enters Billboard’s top ten making it Reba's 54th Top 10 Billboard hit. Reba now ties Dolly Parton's record of most Top 10 hits for a female country artist. Congratulations Reba! The song continues to move up both the Billboard and Radio and Records charts.
They aren't counting "I Will Always Love You" twice, wheras Billboard counts it as two top 10s for Dolly.

She's up to #9 on R&R this morning... AND! her spring tour has been announced. Look at this lineup!! This is going to be one amazing show!!! Brad and Reba are my two favorites, and of course with Terri in the mix, what a great show!
Here's the press release from Reba's website:
Reba and Brad Paisley Team up with Terri Clark for Tour Two Hats and A Redhead Opening Night April 15
Nashville, TN January 24, 2005 -- Superstars Reba and Brad Paisley will team up to headline a tour this year, along with Terri Clark as a Sp ecial Guest, for what should prove to be one of the most hit packed and high energy tours of the season– the Two Hats and a Redhead Tour. With a total of nearly 40 #1 songs among them, the evening of music will be nothing short of country music’s greatest hits.
The multiple city tour will kick off April 15th in Virginia Beach, Va at the Verizon Amphitheatre and before its conclusion in mid-June, will cover more than two dozen cities. (*due to a scheduling conflict, Clark will not be on the first three dates – April 15th – 17th. Instead Joe Nichols will join Reba and Paisley).
“The two things I love most about touring are getting to perform my music live for the fans, and sharing the stage with friends,” Reba said. “Brad and Terri are each great performers and great friends.”
"It is an honor to share the stage with such an icon. I'm a huge Reba McEntire fan and so many of my musical influences have toured with Reba throughout the years,” said Paisley. “Now to have the same opportunity is very exciting for me. On top of that, being surrounded by Reba and Terri Clark will make me the envy of many, many, many, many men."
“Having been an avid Reba McEntire fan club member as a teenager, to put it into Canadian terms, I would compare this to a rookie hockey player getting to play a season on the same team with Wayne Gretzky,” Clark said. “This is a wonderful opportunity, and if it is half as much fun as the last time I toured with Reba in 1998, I can only imagine what kind of summer this will be.”
Reba is one of the entertainment industries most versatile and prolific artists. She currently stars in her own WB sitcom, Reba; released her 28th CD in 2003 titled Room To Breathe; celebrated her 30th #1 record last year and will soon launch her own clothing line in partnership with Dillards. In 2004, she completed a critically acclaimed tour after a three-year hiatus from the road. Her live performances have long been a celebrated affair for her fans, with sell out concerts coast to coast. In 2001, she starred on Broadway in Annie Get Your Gun.
Paisley has established himself as one of country music’s finest young artists with sales in excess of five million, three #1 singles, nine Top 5 hits and multiple CMA, ACM and Grammy nominations. The 5-time CMA winner recently celebrated double platinum status for his current release Mud on the Tires and is ranked among Billboard’s 2004 Top 10 Country best-sellers for the disc.
Clark, a hard-charging traditionalist, hit the charts in 1995 with "Better Things To Do" -- and never looked back. With three platinum albums, a reputation for high-energy concerts, CMA and ACM Female Vocalist of the Year nominations, and a string of hits that includes "Easy On The Eyes," "When Boy Meets Girl," "I Wanna Do It All," "Poor Poor Pitiful Me" and "Girls Lie Too," Clark is the only solo woman in more than three years with two #1 singles. She is the reigning Canadian Country Music Association Entertainer of the Year, an honor she has won five times.
“This is one of the strongest tour packages going out this year,” said Brian O’Connell, vice-president with Clear Channel, the promoters of the concert event. “Reba, Brad and Terri bring a level of professionalism to a live performance that fans truly appreciate. But even better—they know how to have fun.”
Mega tickets go on sale in multiple markets this Saturday, January 29. Check local venues for details.

It's a good lineup. I can't say I've always been a Brad Paisley fan, but "Whiskey Lullaby" is one of the better songs to come out by anyone in the last 5 years. Still, it's nice to see NYC on the schedule as Reba didn't make it here last year, and I'm going to try to make the show.

I still don't understand the big deal about Reba. I liked her back in the day, but now I really can't stand her.

Fine, but understand that you're in the minority. That's fine with me. I have absolutely no problem with that statement.

After losing her bullet for a few days, Reba's back to +150 and is the 9th greatest gainer. She also jumped to #7 on Billboard last week.
Also, Reba's nominated for "Best Female Video" at the CMT awards for "Somebody".

LOL, the rebound was shortlived and it's completely done now.
Time to bring on single #4. I honestly have no clue what they're going to go with. The two "safe" choices would be "Secret" and "My Sister" but I hope they take a risk. I wonder how radio would respond to "Sky Full of Angels" or "Love Revival." I have no clue. Then my favorite song is "It Just Has To Be This Way."

I have a couple of different thoughts about the next single should be. Initially, when she first released HGTFM I thought that "It Just Has To Be This Way" was the only logical choice for the 4th single, but now I'm not so sure. Vince hasn't had a hit in years, and while IJHTBTW is a great song, another ballad may not be in Reba's best interest right now. I'm actually thinking that "My Sister" is the best 'safe' choice, because it picks up the pace a bit.
However, I agree that I'd be interested to see how radio would react to "Love Revival" or "Sky Full Of Angels". SFOA is my personal favorite out of what's left (besides IJHTBTW or MS). But, as much as I'd like to see it released, I'm not sure if Reba should take a big risk just yet. My opinion is that she should release MS next, and then take a risk on single #5.

I really would like to see "Moving Oleta" be the next single. I don't know how well "Sky Full Of Angels" would do. If they want uptempo, I would go with "My Sister"..

Moving Oleta is my least favorite song on the album. Anything but that. Not to mention He Gets That From Me was about death, she doesn't need another depressing song like Moving Oleta.

I think "Sky Full of Angels" could be a smash just because it's so different. The only thing is the religious lyrics. I don't think it should matter with the country format, but you never know. It's risky, but it's one of those songs that people will latch onto and that will move album units.
"My Sister" is more conventional sounding, but women should relate to it well. As much as I love "It Just Has To Be This Way," I agree about Vince not having a hit in forever and that it's really just not different enough to stand out and make people go out and grab the album.

It would be weired to hear Leann Rimes sing a song called It Probably Shouldn't Be This Way then play Reba's It Has To Be This Way. You would think they would have to think about the titles going against each other.
