How is this only 2x platinum? It's under-certified it should actually be 3x possibly even 4x platinum. It was certified 2x platinum in Feb. of 2002 I think the catalog pretty much went out of print in the US in late 2003/early 2004 after "I Care 4 U"s run had ended.

I do think Aaliyah offered some "experimental"/"alternative" R&B before that was even a concept, so I remember feeling that this album was such a concept.
Now that it's many years later without having the album as accessible as others on streaming, I don't find myself coming back to this album at all for anything other than its singles, really.
I feel like some of these sounds didn't age well, and I'm hoping when it's back on streaming, and I have a chance to digest it like OIAM, I will find new life in it again.
However, the singles are the best songs of her career, so this album is a treasure for that reason alone.
