It looks like this is the second single, though it has been confirmed yet. It's been getting a fair number of spins since the album came out, so I'd be surprised if Curb didn't go with it now. It's growm on me a lot since the album was first released, since I didn't really like it when it was first heard. Though IMO, there were much better choices for the second single ("Blank Sheet Of Paper", "My Old Friend", "Everybody Hates Me", etc.), it looks like it'll do well - I'd be surprised if it didn't hit #1. www1.allaccess.com/sounds/timmback.ram

Well, Tim is filming a video for the song "How Bad Do You Want It" this Monday on Monday Night Football. So I believe this is the official second single. Since nothing has come from Curb about "Back When," I'd go with "HBDYWI" as the next single. But who knows.

This song is nowhere near as good as "Live Like You Were Dying". It's boring.

Back When is sort of funny but I don't like it. It would be a bad choice for a single. I want them to release "Kill Myself". "Everybody Hates Me" is also another song I'd like to see released.

Normally, I'd agree 100% with this, but Tim is known for releasing videos to songs that aren't singles ("Angel Boy", "She's My Kind Of Rain" was releassed as a video way before it was every a single). But I hope this is right, since I think HBDYWI is a much better song than "Back When".

I just checked Mediabase, and "Back When" is the greatest gainer with a +381 bullet and moves 41-30*. I'd be very surprised if Curb didn't go with it at this point.

Does anyone else think Tim was taking a stab at Faith when he said "They Put Pop in My Country" in 'Back When'

I agree that this is not as good as LLYWD, but there's no song on the charts right now as good as LLYWD, so its really an unfair comparison. The song is that good.
"Back When" is a fun song, a more upbeat version of Rascal Flatts "Mayberry". Its good, but not #1 good.

I think he should release "Blank Sheet of Paper", but what do I know. I don't know why they wouldn't go with a song that is already gained a lot of ground without being announced as a single.

I think "How Bad Do You Want It" is the next single. As previously posted, he is singing that on the CMAs and he just filmed a live video for it too.

This is obviously the next single. Just look at it. It's up 455 spins from last week and up 13 spots to #27.
They'd be stupid to choose anything else at this point.

I think the fact that a lot of radio stations (such as KZLA here in LA) started playing the heck out of the song MIGHT have forced his label's hand in choosing what his follow-up single would be.
A somewhat similar situation occured in the spring of 2003, when lots of radio stations (including such major-market powerhouses as The Wolf, aka KPLX/Dallas), started playing the heck out of 'Beer For My Horses' by Toby Keith even as 'Rock You Baby' was steadily climbing the charts.
Fearing that the song would not be as big of a hit as they were hoping, his radio abruptly stopped pushing 'RYB' and redeirected their energies towards 'BFMH'.
Suffice it to say, the strategy worked, as 'BFMH' wound up in the top five for the year.

I got the Tim McGraw newsletter the other day and it says "How Bad Do You Want It" is the next single.

Tim McGraw is making history of his own with two movies hitting theaters and a new music video. Black Cloud and Friday Night Lights will both hit theaters in the next two weeks and the superstar performed his new single "How Bad Do You Want It" during the halftime of the Cowboys and Redskins matchup, marking the first time a Monday Night Football game had a performance during halftime. CMT Insider was on hand for the video shoot and we'll give fans a sneak peek at what to expect from the country star.

The release of 'HBDYWI?' will have to wait until springtime, considering the way 'Back When' is gaining airplay and sailing up the charts.
I'd expect it to be #1 around Christmas.

Funny, and Party for Two is #35. I wonder why these popular songs are charting so low on these callouts? hmm..none-the-less BW seems to be slowing some..

Funny, and Party for Two is #35. I wonder why these popular songs are charting so low on these callouts? I'd say because they're both not good. "How Bad Do You Want It" is likely referenced as the next single, meaning the single after "Back When".

'Back When' has jumped from #27 to #21 in the new R&R today, and gained 631 spins, so he's headed to #1.
Sara Evans made it to #1 today, but George Strait figures to have his first charttopper since 'She'll Leave You With A Smile' hit the top 22 months ago.

Now that 'Back When' has shot up to #11 at R&R in just eight weeks, I hope that this means that the charts MIGHT speed up somewhat.

I like this song. It now looks that it will not make it to number one. Seems that Blake Shelton may pass him shortly with "Some Beach".

Looks like Kenny Chesney might be able to squeak in before tim hits #1 this time. Tim held Kenny off w/ his last great song, I think it spent 4 weeks or so at #2. Kenny's gain as of this morning is over double what tim's is! Good Luck Kenny

I think both Tim & kenny will make #1. I wish that "I Go Back" had managed at least 1 week at the top, as it's my favorite single from Kenny. Lonestar will most likely be next at #1. Depending on how things go B&D may or may not be able to sneak in a week before Kenny.
And I have a lyric question about the line "Peanuts in the bottle at ten two and four". What does this mean exactly? Is Tim talking about actual peanuts in a bottle, or am I missing something here?

This is a nice little nostalgia song. I probably prefer it to LLYWD, although not as much as some of his others.
