Zebra's Year End Charts - 2013Welcome, all! After many hours of backcharting, point calculating, and just charting in general, my year end charts will begin. I will start with my top artists now and I will most likely start the bubbling under songs and the albums tonight as well. We will see. Thank you to everyone who has followed my chart and has commenting/liked, and I hope you enjoy the countdown. Here goes!Top Artists: (Personal Rankings, 25 to 21)25. Kelly ClarksonCharted: "Catch My Breath" (11), "People Like Us" (10)After releasing her Greatest Hits album, I had nostalgia for her plus she had brand new songs to check out. I loved "Catch My Breath", and it has had a fantastic recurrent life. It was one of my favorites at the beginning of the year. "Don't Rush" came out and I didn't exactly love it but I didn't hate it either. It would have bubbled under really close to the top 50 for a while early in the year. "People Like Us" was released next and I absolutely loved it. The lyrics, the production, the video, everything. It was amazing, and I sent it straight to the top ten. It is still good, but I don't love it near as much as I used to. It is still a nice listen though. "Tie It Up" and "Underneath The Tree" helped towards the end of the year as they still enticed me to listen to her and they both bubbled under.24. AWOLNATIONCharted: "Sail" (1)Ahh, AWOLNATION. I have loved "Sail" since late 2011 but I fell in love with it again this year after it re-entered the Hot 100 and was released to pop radio and such. I loved it so much I sent it to number 1, a place it had never peaked before. It had only made it number 5 in Spring 2012. I also finally listened to Megalithic Symphony this year and it isn't a bad album. I also like "Not Your Fault" so it definitely helped them to crack the top 25.23. Little MixCharted: "Wings" (5), "DNA" (14)"Wings" was introduced to me by my local radio. I heard it and I liked it, and they started playing it a lot and I fell in love with it. I sent it all the way to number 5, and I was rooting for it the whole time it was on the Hot 100. It deserved a much higher peak, but alas, my radio station still played it like it was a top ten hit or something and at least I discovered them. This prompted me to check out "DNA", and I thoroughly enjoyed it. However, I never sent it to the top ten. It had amazing longevity though. I wish I had charted it better, because I liked it more than "Wings" at the time. "Wings" has had a better afterlife though. "How Ya Doin?" was good too. I haven't checked out "Move" or the rest of their album (oops ), but I still enjoyed what I heard from them.22. Demi LovatoCharted: "Heart Attack" (1), "Made In The USA" (19)I enjoyed many of Demi's previous singles throughout the year, and I was ecstatic when I heard she was releasing "Heart Attack". I checked it out and I LOVED it. It skyrocketed from 49 to 2 and spent a lot of time in the top ten, including hitting number 1. It was one of my favorites of the year. It has had an incredible recurrent life even though it burnt on me while it was charting. "Made In The USA" was great too, and it was the obvious single choice and a perfect summer jam. "Neon Lights" was chosen next and I like it but it isn't as great as many of the other songs on Demi, which was an amazing album by the way, helping to put her this high.21. Selena GomezCharted: "Come & Get It" (5), "Slow Down" (9)
Another former Disney star is next, Selena Gomez. I loved her stuff with The Scene and I was intrigued to find out that she was releasing solo material this year. I remember listening to "Come & Get It" for the first time and not being impressed, but then I listening to it again due to it's interesting nature and I grew to like it. I played it many, many times on the day it was released and I fell in love with it. It's Middle Eastern influenced beat and catchy beat helped to make it stand out. It debuted at it's peak and started falling, but it quickly rebounded. She then released "Slow Down" as a promo single and I loved it too, and I was ecstatic to find out that it was the next single. In my opinion it was the best song off Stars Dance, which I enjoyed, even better than "Come & Get It". I actually like it more than "Come & Get It" now, as time has made me grow less fond od "Come & Get It". However, both are great songs.

Glad you like them, and thanks for commenting! Are you referring to Little MIx or all of them or what? Little Mix. I like "Move" & "Little Me" better then the rest of their previous singles combined. ;)

So many good comments! Great to see all of them, with the exception of Little Mix because I didn't listen to any of her songs in full. However, the snippet I remember from "DNA" was good.

Now, I'll post my Bubbling Under for songs. Most of these got cut off in the middle of their run by 2012 or 2014, so they don't have near all the points they would have had, and some of them were really just flops. There were 217 songs that charted by 181 artists this year, so obviously not all of them could make it, but here is the first batch that came the closest. No special effects or anything, as it's just the bubbling under. Enjoy!
150. Castle Of Glass - Linkin Park Peak: 35 Weeks: 06 Points: 35,300 Certification: Gold Charted in 2012
"Castle Of Glass" was one of the many Linkin Park songs that I liked from Living Things but that I didn't love especially. This is my second favorite, after "Burn It Down", which I loved, and thus it had a long enough chart run from the end of 2012 when it became a single to carry over and allow it to make it here.
149. Best Day Of My Life - American Authors
Peak: 10 Weeks: 05 Points: 35,300 Certification: Gold Still On Chart
I discovered this one kind of late in the year, which explains it's low ranking. I absolutely love it though, so it should rank much higher in 2014.
148. Feel Again - OneRepublic
Peak: 19 Weeks: 05 Points: 35,500 Certification: Gold Charted in 2012
A decent sized hit, but underwhelming for OneRepublic, this song went top twenty in 2012 and it had enough of a run to make it, even in it's descent. Great song though. It's grown on me more since it fell off.
147. All The Wrong Places - Example
Peak: 38 Weeks: 06 Points: 36,000 Certification: Gold
Example has had many big hits with me, namely "Changed The Way You Kiss Me" and "Natural Disaster", and thus I was excited to hear new material from him. I discovered this and "Perfect Replacement" (coming soon, but not bubbling under) from juanito's chart, and even though they took a while to grow on me I loved them. However, so many songs were charting in this time frame so I feel like this song didn't get a proper run.
146. Locked Out Of Heaven - Bruno Mars
Peak: 32 Weeks: 06 Points: 38,100 Certification: Gold Charted in 2012
I HATED this song when I first heard, and for a while thereafter. However, it became bearable and has had an amazing recurrent life (I love it now), and thus I decided that this, combined with it's 2012 points, was a fair run.
145. Brave - Sara Bareilles
Peak: 36 Weeks: 07 Points: 38,700 Certification: Gold
Like "All The Wrong Places", I feel this song was also robbed of a true run as the chart was especially competitive. It's a genuinely good song, and I really enjoy it.
144. The Love Club - Lorde
Peak: 26 Weeks: 06 Points: 39,100 Certification: Gold
A nice album track from Lorde, I discovered it after hearing "Tennis Court" and "Royals" and it helped to cement me as a Lorde fan. I love this song, but I let it die too quickly because I felt uncomfortable with an album track charting as well as the fact that my top 100 killed many song runs.
143. Cups (When I'm Gone) - Anna Kendrick
Peak: 40 Weeks: 07 Points: 39,400 Certification: Gold
This song was just okay. I didn't love it, didn't hate it, just okay. It has aged well, but it is nothing spectacular to me. I feel I gave it a fair run.
142. Feel This Moment - Pitbull ft. Christina Aguilera
Peak: 35 Weeks: 07 Points: 42,000 Certification: Platinum
Hitbull. :') (lol no) I usually don't like most of Pitbull's stuff, but I enjoyed this one because of Christina. The production is nice as well and it is extremely catchy, thus allowing it to chart this high.
141. Hey Brother - Avicii
Peak: 02 Weeks: 05 Points: 43,900 Certification: Platinum Still Charting
Another late year discovery, I wish I had found it earlier. It is so good. It'll be really high on the 2014 year end, but I am loving this new sound for Avicii.
140. Atlas - Coldplay
Peak: 42 Weeks: 08 Points: 44,000 Certification: Platinum
I was so excited to see that Coldplay was coming back with a new single, and that it was tied to Catching Fire. However, it underwhelmed me. I liked it but it was a little too slow for my tastes. Not saying it's a bad song, just didn't click like it should have.
139. Right Now - Rihanna ft. David Guetta
Peak: 36 Weeks: 08 Points: 45,800 Certification: Platinum
This was my favorite Unapologetic track, excluding "Diamonds", when the album was released and I was hoping for it as a single. However, I got extremely bored of it when it finally became a single, and thus it has a mediocre run.
138. Pumpin' Blood - NONONO
Peak: 13 Weeks: 06 Points: 47,600 Certification: Platinum Still Charting
A catchy tune that I discovered late in the year, it will most likely rank higher in 2014.
137. Wrecking Ball - Miley Cyrus
Peak: 18 Weeks: 08 Points: 48,200 Certification: Platinum Still Charting
Ahh, "Wrecking Ball". One of the year's biggest hits, I loved it when it first came out. I felt it was a huge improvement over "We Can't Stop" (which is great now, tbh), and thus I gave it a fast rise to number 18. However, once the video came out I dropped it really quickly because it started to burn on me. However, after many more listens I decided it wasn't bad and thus I re-entered it. It is still rising.
136. Supernatural - Ke$ha
Peak: 13 Weeks: 07 Points: 51,000 Certification: Platinum Charted in 2012
A flawless album track from Ke$ha, it charted well late 2012 and had enough weeks to carry it over to this countdown. Great song.
135. Feel The Love - Rudimental ft. John Newman
Peak: 32 Weeks: 08 Points: 51,100 Certification: Platinum Charted in 2012
One of my biggest hits of 2012 (it topped my chart), I absolutely adore this song. I saw that it was getting a pop push and so I re-entered it. However, it went nowhere on pop and I pushed it out due to competition, but it's flawless nonetheless.
134. Sonnentanz (Sun Don't Shine) - Klangkarussell ft. Will Heard
Peak: 25 Weeks: 08 Points: 55,400 Certification: 2x Platinum
A really, really nice song that I am thinking about re-entering. It is so catchy and so good, and only got killed off due to competition.
133. Iron - Calvin Harris ft. Nicky Romero
Peak: 05 Weeks: 07 Points: 55,900 Certification: 2x Platinum Charted in 2012
One of the best off of 18 Months, I let it chart late 2012 (it peaked at number 3), and it fell quickly, yet it still made it. Should've been a single.
132. Perfume - Britney Spears
Peak: 17 Weeks: 08 Points: 56,400 Certification: 2x Platinum Still Charting
I was expecting another "Everytime" but I was let down. However, this song grew on me in a big way and became one of my favorites in December.
131. What Now - Rihanna
Peak: 09 Weeks: 07 Points: 56,900 Certification: 2x Platinum Still Charting
I didn't like this song at first but the remixes were cool. I then heard this on the radio and it clicked, and I fell in love. It raced up quickly, but has a high burn rate, so it is dying quickly.
130. Unconditionally - Katy Perry
Peak: 16 Weeks: 09 Points: 57,200 Certification: 2x Platinum Still Charting
Talking about underwhelming singles, I was also not impressed by this one. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't as good as any of her other single. However, I fell in love with it and it made the top ten in the first week of 2014.
129. Venus - Lady Gaga
Peak: 05 Weeks: 07 Points: 59,900 Certification: 2x Platinum
A flawless promo track from ARTPOP, it became a guilty pleasure of mine. The production was nice, it was catchy, and it was just an instant love. I killed it quickly though due to it not being a single and me not listening to it a lot. Still good, I hope it's a single.
128. TKO - Justin Timberlake
Peak: 18 Weeks: 09 Points: 60,000 Certification: 2x Platinum Still Charting
This song is really good, but it had to grow on me first. However, my radio station is killing it for me, but I enjoy it nonetheless. So much better than "Take Back The Night", but it pales to Part 1 of The 20/20 Experience.
127. #Beautiful - Mariah Carey ft. Miguel
Peak: 09 Weeks: 08 Points: 60,100 Certification: 2x Platinum
I am a casual Mariah fan, and I was excited when I heard she was trying a comeback. I loved it so much when it first came out that I sent it to top ten within two weeks. However, it didn't age well from there and I found it underwhelming, so it died. However, I love it again now, so it should have been higher.
126. Begin Again - Taylor Swift
Peak: 10 Weeks: 08 Points: 61,100 Certification: 2x Platinum Still Charting
In hindsight, this is probably my favorite single from Red. It is so good. "I Knew You Were Trouble" may be a little better, but I love this one. It has aged well too. A nice country song from her, it peaked in late 2012 and was still in the top ten in 2013, so it helped it here.
125. What About Love - Austin Mahone
Peak: 20 Weeks: 09 Points: 62,000 Certification: 2x Platinum
Guilty pleasure. A fun summer track that grew on me in a big way.
124. One Day/Reckoning Song (Wankelmut Remix) - Asaf Avidan & The Mojos
Peak: 14 Weeks: 08 Points: 62,400 Certification: 2x Platinum Charted in 2012
A nice late 2012 discovery, I grew to love it. It spent five of those eight weeks in the top twenty, so it gained enough points to almost make it.
123. Monster - Imagine Dragons
Peak: 34 Weeks: 11 Points: 63,700 Certification: 2x Platinum
A mediocre song from one of my top acts of 2013, I didn't love it but I gave it a try. It grew on me, but "Demons", "On Top Of The World", and "Radioactive" all killed it early.
122. Alone Together - Fall Out Boy
Peak: 05 Weeks: 08 Points: 63,700 Certification: 2x Platinum Still Charting
The whole Save Rock And Roll era has been amazing, and this is no exception. I fell in love with it late in the year, so it'll do well in 2014.
121. Take Back The Night - Justin Timberlake
Peak: 26 Weeks: 10 Points: 65,000 Certification: 3x Platinum
I was so excited about new JT after "Mirrors" started to burn on me but this was only okay. However, I ended up loving it but not near the level of "Suit & Tie" or "Mirrors". A catchy summer jam though.

So many good comments! Great to see all of them, with the exception of Little Mix because I didn't listen to any of her songs in full. However, the snippet I remember from "DNA" was good. Thanks! Glad you like them! That's okay. I really only like "Wings" and "DNA" from the ones I've heard, and to a small extent, "How Ya Doin". However, I felt those two were big enough to warrant it. You should at least check that one out, imo.

I'll try to comment on every year-end thing you do, part due to the charts being so great, also for always commenting on my personal chart. :)

Also my last post was my 4000th. Haha. It did well for a lower top ten peaking single. I know right? Oh, honored you used it to comment on my chart. I need to comment more on things. :)

So many great songs out there and comments! "Feel Again", "All the Wrong Places" (Nice shoutout! TY.), "Brave", "Atlas", "Pumpin Blood", "Supernatural", "Feel the Love", "Sonnentanz (Sun Don't Shine)", "Iron" (OMFG! I wasn't expecting this :'( Your comment is so good as well and I agree that it should have been a single.), "Perfume", "What Now", "Venus", "TKO", "Begin Again", "What About Love", "One Day / Reckoning Song" (I assume it's the Wankelmut Remix, isn't it?), "Alone Together" and "Take Back the Night" are the ones I really like there. Regarding your comment on "Right Now", it's exactly the same for me, with the exception that "Jump" is my favorite track from Unapologetic
So many good comments! Great to see all of them, with the exception of Little Mix because I didn't listen to any of her songs in full. However, the snippet I remember from "DNA" was good. I would recommend "Move" in particular to you, I think you'd like that. I already listened to it, but it was once, so I can't make a comment about it. However, I need to give it a try more.

I knew you'd like it there. Yes, it's the Wankelmut remix. "Jump" is up there for me. It took a while to grow on me, but it's really, really good. Thanks for commenting/liking my countdown so far!
