Commentary:

Super late, I know. :(

Carly Rae Jepsen extends her lead for a 5th week, thus making "Run Away With Me" the longest reigning no. 1 since "Fancy". If it spends just one more week at the summit it'll be the longest since "Radioactive", which spent 7 weeks on top. "On To Something Good" ties "Love On Top" for the longest run at no. 2 and it's unfortunately looking like its chances of hitting no. 1 are over. Monroe's chances at the top aren't completely over, however, as "The Blade" inches from 6 to 5. Demi rounds out the top three as "Cool For The Summer" holds at its peak position. "Let's Get Lost" looks to break up the monotony of the top three, though, as it moves from 5 to 4. It's probably my favorite song from EMOTION. "Dime Store Cowgirl" drops from 4 to 6. "All That" inches from 9 to 7 and "Dreams" likewise moves from 10 to 8. Two new songs enter the top ten this week. Lana Del Rey jumps from 12 to 9 with "Honeymoon". Lana is no stranger to the top ten, and "High By The Beach" will likely follow suit shortly. The other top ten entry comes from Atlas Genius with "Molecules", which vaults from 24 to 10. "Trojans" should've been one but I unfortunately didn't chart it as well at the time. 

Eight random songs debut this week. Also, the recurrents section makes a return to usual form.

It really is, especially for my chart. #randomhistory - This wasn't uncommon in 2009/2010 when I was just beginning my chart 4, 5, and 6 weeks were the norm for number ones. Then I started to love more and more music and the turnover rate increased dramatically in 2011/12. :)

Zebra's Top 100 - September 13, 2015 - Week 120, Week 38

Commentary:

I'm not always late!

"Run Away With Me" extends its run at the top by another week, thus bringing its cumulative total up to 6. It's officially the longest reigning chart topper since "Radioactive", which was wrapping up its run around this time two years ago. Carly also jumps from 4 to 2 with "Let's Get Lost". Billie Black is the only other artist who has accomplished this feat. "The Blade" threatens to break Carly's command of the top two, though, as it moves from 5 to 3. "Dreams" leaps from 8 to 4. "Cool For The Summer" dips from 3 to 5. Shawn Mendes scores the lone new top ten entry of the week as "Stitches" jumps from 13 to 6. It could be a contender for no. 1 in the coming weeks. "Stitches" is also Mendes's first top ten entry. He previously charted as high as no. 11 with "Something Big". "On To Something Good" tumbles from 2 to 7 after a 5 week run at no. 2. It's officially tied for the longest run at no. 2 with "Love On Top". "Honeymoon" inches from 9 to 8, and thus matching the peak of Lana's last top ten entry ("Ultraviolence"). "Molecules" likewise inches from 10 to 9. "All That" rounds out the top ten as it slips from 7 to 10. 

Nine songs debut this week. Empress Of leads the pack of debuts as "How Do You Do It" bows at no. 61. "Catfish" debuts at no. 73 and is in a good position to outpeak "Let Me Know" (no. 39) and "If I Don't Have You" (no. 48). Robyn & La Bagatelle Magique debuts at no. 74 with "Love Is Free". Yay! Isn't it wonderful? Have you heard Emotion? I'd highly recommend it and if you have any reservations about it sounding like "Call Me Maybe" or "I Really Like You" it doesn't. It's pure bliss. "The Blade" is SO good. I can't get enough of it. "Stitches" is my jam, lol. It might be the song to dethrone Carly. Haha! That is an achievement!

Years & Years score their 2nd top ten hit and their highest peaking song to date as "Shine" blasts from 22 to 8. Jess Glynne scores her 3rd consecutive top ten hit as "Don't Be So Hard On Yourself" jumps from 13 to 9. Scott Helman rounds out the top ten with "Bungalow" at no. 10.
