This is Rebecca's debut single for Arista Nashville. Not sure on the add date, I'd imagine sometime within the next couple weeks. From what I've heard so far, this sounds like a great song! Hopefully she can finally get the break she's been looking for. I hope Arista can make some better decisions than MCA did... and by the sounds of this single, it looks like they're on the right track! www2.allaccess.com/sounds/rebthats.ramEdit: updated with full song from allaccess.com

It sounds promising, although a bit rough. I like it.

This was or is an Amanda Wilkinson (from The Wilkinsons) song. I know that she has sung it at times but unsure if she wrote it or what.
I like the lyrics...

no, neither Amanda or RLH wrote the song...but it is still slated to be on both Amanda and Rebecca Lynn's upcoming projects.
This is a major step forward for RLH. I doesnt compare to Forgive, but it's a huge leap forward compared to her last two releases, "What A Shame" and "I Need A Vacation"
I hope it does well for her....she deserves it

This is a pretty good song! Rebecca is a very underrated performer. I've met her on numerous occassions and she is so done to earth and deserves success.

It's GREAT to hear RLH again. I have missed her quite a bit. Glad to hear a new label has recognized her talent and I look forward to seeing this songl climb into at least the Top 20.

REBECCA LYNN HOWARD That's Why I Hate Pontiacs Producer(s): Buddy Cannon Writer(s): B. Clark, M. Narmore, L. Rose Publisher(s): various Genre: COUNTRY Label/Catalog Number: Arista 82876-66997 (CD promo) Source: Billboard Magazine Originally Reviewed: January 29, 2005
Rebecca Lynn Howard is an artist who has tasted success in the country format, most notably with the hit "Forgive." But she has yet to achieve the amount of recognition she truly deserves. This new single should remedy that. Though the title might suggest a playful lyric, in reality, this is a vividly drawn portrait of heartache. Songwriters Brandy Clark, Mark Narmore and Liz Rose have penned a lyric rich in visual and emotional imagery—from the wisteria vines and black vinyl seats to the moments that get "tattooed on your soul." Howard's big, expressive voice captures the pain of young love that evaporates, leaving nothing but memories so easily triggered by the sight of a Trans Am. Instead of simply showing off her powerful voice, she has the skill to turn in a carefully nuanced performance that brings the best out in the song. This is her first single on Arista and a fine glimpse into her new album, "Alive and Well."—DEP

Glad to hear the good reviews so far. I love RLH and I hope that she finds some top 40 success with this song. I can't wait until my main computer is back from the "doctor" so I can listen.

The song isn't officially released 'til the 24th...but that's no reason to not request the song. I'm really hoping radio picks this one up.

RLH is such a great singer. I love that twang. I hope this song does well for her. She's on a big label now, and they won't allow for too many non-hits.

It's highest daily Mediabase position was #55 on Feb 13. Today it's #72. The audience peaked at only 671,000. Maybe Pontiac employees kept calling stations saying they hate Rebecca Lynn Howard. ???

I agree, it's a great song.
Supposedly, she went in and cut another song. It blew the label away so they are canning "..Pontiacs" and putting out the next one. ???

Country radio officially makes me sick. This is such a great song! >:( Nobody around here (Atlanta) is playing it. No time in between plays of "Nothin' To Lose" I guess. I hope they are at least playing it in Tupelo. I'm discouraged that Arista has no website in place, no CD single, no plans for an album, no promotion, no nothin'. She deserves much better. ~ Jim

This song has been pulled.

Yes, the song has been pulled for a recently recorded song. It's a dumb move on Arista's part though....putting all that money into initial promotions and a video...and for nothing. They could've at least let "Pontiacs" run it's course (hit or not) and release this "unbelieveable" recording as the next single.
I think I heard the next single will be released at the beginning of May.

"I Need a Vacation", the next single, is much more light-hearted. I really like it. It's actually kind of funny.
I like RLH period. I think her voice is UH MAZING! :)

And this isn't a "recently recorded" song either. Where did you get this info? I have a hard time believing that Arista would release that.... ???

"I Need a Vacation", the next single, is much more light-hearted. I really like it. It's actually kind of funny. She can't actually release that or What a Shame to radio since they were actually the property of MCA so I know it's not going to be that song.

Oh, I didn't know that. I found the song on Mediabase, so I thought that was the single being leaked. The second part is that I haven't been following her career closely so I didn't know that song had already been done. 10 lashes with a wet noodle. (bowtie please) ;) It's still a cute song.

Whew! *sigh of relief*
Yes, it was a great song, but I was getting ready to go nuts when you said that. But then I realized she wasn't at MCA or Mercury... ;)
