Billboard is reporting John Michael Montgomery was involved in an accident with his tour bus. I hope all is well with everyone.

Jordan Davis has a new song he played on TikTok. Bradbery fan page said on Twitter it was Bradbery ob the song with him. I don’t have TikTok so I couldn’t hear it.

Ugh I am so over these asshats in country music. The ACMs literally gave Blackface Aldean their Artist of the Decade Award and gave N Word Wallen an award two days ago. Wallen is up for CMA Entertainer this year. That these people still play righteous victims is just asinine.

Aldean has the country male stats in those ten years. What has Aldean did wrong? If we all thought your way there would be no RAP music maybe except Pop-Rap. cus they say the N word and have offensive lyrics all the time. Wallen made a huge mistake and he got his suspension. Now hes back and hes getting recognized for his fan favorite work. I like Wallen's music except "You Proof". I am not a fan of Aldeans recent stuff, but hes doing good music wise statistically. just for curiosity reasons, Whos your favorite artists top 5 these days in music?. Mine are Bradbery, Ballerini, MacKenzie Porter, Kane Brown and Thomas Rhett.

What has Aldean did wrong? Aldean wore blackface in 2015 and of course added to his wife's transphobic posts this year.

Educate yourself by looking up Michael Ertel from Florida, Julianne Hough, Jimmy Kimmel, etc. (Plus that Aldean incident was 7 years ago his career is fine, so no 'sabotage' has happened).

It just absolutely kills me that John Rich is acting like wokeism has completely ruined people's artistic freedom, because the industry executives tell you what you can't record, what you can't say on stage, what you can't post on social media....like that isn't what they were already doing before?!?!?!!? Literally everybody who has ever had a mainstream music career has had to deal with executives who try to tailor them to fit a certain image. That has nothing to do with politics, it is just how the industry works. And yes, like he said, you can either play the game of making the executives happy, or you can choose not to have a career. Again, not a symptom of wokeism; literally just part of your job when you are trying to be a public figure. On top of it all, John's brief period of relevance was dead and decayed long before the term "woke" was even invented, so at least it has given him an outlet to keep his name in people's minds? Edit: Also, look at The Chicks' career... Literally nobody in country music has suffered from "wokeism" as extremely as they suffered back in the day, from a sentiment that was pretty much diametrically opposed to wokeism in every conceivable metric. My point: they didn't play the game, and their career suffered. People who can't play the game historically suffer the consequences regardless of their politics, and anyone who complains about "wokeism ruining everything" in country music is a crybaby moron who has to feel like a victim just because they can't follow the rules of their own chosen career.

The one thing that nobody ever talks about regarding the Chicks is all the great music we missed out on because of them getting canceled. If nothing ever happened they would have continued to make great country music with fiddle, steel and banjo. That’s stuff we will never get and it’s sad how many great songs from them never got to be heard.

^ On the flip side of that though, we would never have had “Not Ready to Make Nice.” That’s easily one of the greatest songs ever made in my opinion.

You said that poster should stop posting. That is not your determination. I'm sorry, but no. Stating that blackface is acceptable for a white person on Halloween is *at best* ignorant, in reality it's probably down right racist. If moderators are consistently going to allow ignorant/racist/homophobic posts to remain in this thread, rather then deleting them, then it is incumbent on other posters/the rest of us to stand up against it. Similarly, individuals who consistently make ignorant/racist/homophobic posts probably should not be allowed to continue posting. However, this board is significantly more lenient about that sort of thing then most other online communities. Which is why this continues to happen.

It's against board rules to speak the truth? No, I wrote "Please stop posting." That is a request, not a command. "Should" was not part of what I wrote. And that's that on that.

Halloween should be fair game especially when he was going as lil Wayne. He's probably a fan of lil Wayne. thats nothing big. It's offensive no matter when it's done. You need to educate yourself on why these things you defend are unacceptable. Take the time to do so, take the time to be respectful to other people. You're ignorant, please stop posting. A lot of people have worn blackface. Aldean is the only one where people are trying to sabotage his career. Lol no. Can't go a week without ignorance showing up in this thread. Apparently not :'( . I almost wish people wouldn't bring it up in here, but that just leaves things in the dark and not how change happens. Though I think we can all agree that there doesn't need to be updates on whatever John Rich spews out. At least Jason and Morgan are relevant. Taking off my moderator status here to say in some cases calling a spade a spade is what needs to be done. As a mod though I do feel the need to say that we do take action and have been taking more action with the new staff additions really stepping up and making sure we get to things in a timely manner. Report things you think are offensive and break the rules and we do our job. Then ignore the comments and know that if warranted they are getting warned. This does avoid you potentially getting a warning yourself which calling someone ignorant could potentially trigger.

I have a solution if we, including myself dont post things on here about politics and controversial topics, this board can get back to friendly debates on music and basic things and things inside the genre which we all like. that's just a friendly suggestion.

Nah. Racists in country music being racists, and transphobes in country music being transphobes, is considered “News & Non-Singles Discussion.” It’s just on you (yes, specifically you) to just do better at being better. Because so much of what you continue to do and say — spewing absolute nonsense that hurts people and then duck out of the thread when everyone calls you out on it, only to then come back later and either 1) play the victim, or 2) ~try to make peace~ (as you’re proposing to do here) — is what drags this thread, and this board, down. So, do better, and maybe we won’t have to come to such a head all the time. But until then, we’re not just going to stop posting relevant news topics related to country music just because people (rightfully) call you out on saying shitty things.
