From what i read in one of the articles I read about it there will still be separate panels so I'm not sure how that's going to work.

It will be interesting to see what happens in December with the charts. I guess there is a chance that Billboard will use the data from Mediabase, but still use their chart rules (recurrent after top 10, songs ranked by audience) instead of what rules Mediabase currently uses. This is the only format that uses data differently as all other formats are ranked by spins.

20 - "El Paso" - Marty Robbins 19 - "Goodbye Earl" - The Chicks 18 - "Hello Darlin'" - Conway Twitty 17 - "Take Me Home, Country Roads" - John Denver 16 - "It Wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels" - Kitty Wells 15 - "Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys" - Waylon Jennings & Willie Nelson 14 - "Where Were You (When The World Stopped Turning)" - Alan Jackson 13 - "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" - The Charlie Daniels Band 12 - "Coal Miner's Daughter" - Loretta Lynn 11 - "Friends In Low Places" - Garth Brooks 10 - "Always On My Mind" - Willie Nelson 9 - "Amarillo By Morning" - George Strait 8 - "The Gambler" - Kenny Rogers 7 - "Stand By Your Man" - Tammy Wynette" 6 - "Your Cheatin' Heart" - Hank Williams 5 - "Jolene" - Dolly Parton 4 - "Mama Tried" - Merle Haggard 3 - "Crazy" - Patsy Cline 2 - "He Stopped Loving Her Today" - George Jones 1 - "I Walk The Line" - Johnny Cash There is the top 20. I agree with some songs included and strongly disagree with others. I mean "Goodbye Earl" and "Friends In Low Places" are fun songs but definitely not in the top 20 greatest songs.

I get why but I do wish they had a bit more modern country representation on this list.

I get why but I do wish they had a bit more modern country representation on this list. If by "modern" you mean '90s and maaaaybe early '00s, hahaha. There has been literally nothing in the last 10-15 years that deserves to displace any of the classics on this list, aside from something absolutely unavoidable like "The House That Built Me". In my humble opinion of course, haha 😂 I'll explain my reasoning further. When making a list like this it is impossible to separate "quality" from "well known" from "most commercially impactful". And these lists are always going to default to the latter. Hence us getting "Friends In Low Places" even though Garth has plenty of 'better' songs. So if we start dipping into modern country, we're going to get the "Cruise"s and "Old Town Road"s of the last few years, not the songs that people would actually want...

For Garth alone there are so many songs that are way more deserving than "Friends In Low Places" like "The Dance", "Unanswered Prayers", "The River", and "If Tomorrow Never Comes" to name a couple. Then you have The Chicks where "Cowboy Take Me Away", "Travelin' Soldier", and "Not Ready To Make Nice" are more deserving than "Goodbye Earl". Then you have songs like "Go Rest High On That Mountain", "The House That Built Me", "Independence Day", "Little Rock", and countless others that should be on here before some that are.

I know these lists will always come with disagreement, but yeah castleoblivion26 mentions a lot of better choices. There are some choices that seem rote/standard on these lists by now, and others that lean too populalist.

Chris Janson has signed with Big Machine. He's had quite the label journey. BNA -> Bigger Picture -> Columbia Nashville -> Warner Nashville -> BMLG

Zac Brown’s label history is so convoluted though and makes Chris’ look simple haha

Are there any plants for Megan Moroney’s “Tennessee Orange” to be sent to radio? It’s blowing up, in the top 100 on Apple Music. Would be a great fall song considering the theme.

It's a self-released song, but I could see her getting picked up by a label soon and it getting rushed to radio after that happens, similar to situations like what we saw with Bailey Zimmerman and Priscilla Block in the past couple years.

The Big D And Bubba show played a girl on the radio. My Mom said that the song she thinks was about hunting or fishing she said that the girl started with a “M” I can’t find it anywhere. Does anybody know who this could be?

Does anybody know who this could be? A song by Mackenzie Carpenter called "Huntin' Season" was just sent out to radio this morning.

Whoa. Such a devastating blow. She was an absolute legend who paved the way for the women of today. They might not be here if it wasn’t for her. Wishing peace and light to her family.
Rest in Power, Loretta.

Crushing loss.
I imagine the CMA’s will put together something very special for her, she was the first woman to do so many things in country music. What a loss, my heart is broken.

I didn't listen to a lot of Loretta's music growing up but I knew how much of a big deal she was in country music. She has inspired so many artists and touched the lives of many. Her truthful lyrics were so well-written and she looked beautiful to the end. Condolences to her friends and family.

Rest in power to the woman who paved the way for millions of females (and men) that came after her.
