Ty Herndon's Kickstarter campaign was a HUGE success. This was from the Billboard Country Update last night: Ty Herndon’s Kickstarter campaign was a clear success. He hoped to raise $25,000 during a 30-day period ending Aug. 6. Instead, he generated $54,600 from 380 backers, more than twice his goal. Fifteen of his backers will receivedinner with Herndon, a personal concert or a chance to record with him in return for pledges ranging from $500 to $10,000.

I'm listening to the Warren Brothers' second album. Is it just me, or is it absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to tell that Jay Joyce produced this album, at least from the singles? There isn't a trace of his usual production trickery on "That's the Beat of a Heart", "Move On", or "Where Does It Hurt".

I know I could put this in the single threads for both artists but I thought it might be better to put it here. I keep seeing radio dj's tweeting about going to New York for interviews and an event with Jennifer Nettles and Luke Bryan. One station mentioned another act (Brothers Osborn) in the mix with the two previous stated name but all the rest just state Jennifer and Luke. I am curious about what this all means. I know the three acts (I believe anyway) are all signed with some branch of UMG (Mercury for Jennifer, Capital for Luke...). Unless I am reading this all wrong and it's separate things but part of me is wishfully hoping that they are doing something together somehow.
Here are a few of the tweets I found (there are several more):

Forgot about the Billy Currington incident? The Boot is reporting a trial date. The details:
A trial has been scheduled for Billy Currington. The ‘Hey Girl’ singer will go on trial in October on charges stemming from an incident in April.
According to the Associated Press, Currington’s attorney, Alex Zipperer, entered a plea of not guilty on behalf of the singer during a brief hearing in Savannah, Ga. Wednesday morning (Aug. 14). Currington was not present in court.
Currington’s charges stem from an incident that allegedly took place on April 15 near his home on Tybee Island in Georgia. Tour boat captain Charles Harvey Ferrelle told police he was piloting his passengers along a coastal creek when a man jumped into his own boat and began following them. He and his passengers later identified the man as Currington from photographs.
According to a police affidavit, Currington followed 70-year-old Ferrelle to the dock where he houses his tour boat and began screaming curses and threats at him. Currington denies the allegations in court documents.
A woman who works as a caretaker at Currington’s residence told police that the wake from Ferrelle’s boat almost knocked a man from Currington’s deck, adding that the singer might seek his own warrant against Ferrelle.
Currington is charged with making terroristic threats and abuse of an elderly person. Each of those counts is a felony, punishable by one to five years in prison. He turned himself in to authorities in April and was released on a $27,000 bond.
The singer’s trial is set to begin on Oct. 4.

It would speak pretty poorly of Miranda and Dierks' consideration for their fans if they postponed a concert for which tickets went on sale in mid-June for the sake of a wedding that will allegedly take place the following day, especially one whose save-the-date apparently went out before late May. Miranda more than Dierks, since Dierks turned around and signed up for the Luke Bryan show in Nashville on the same day, showing his willingness to play a concert on that date. I don't think the Luke show is the scheduling conflict, and hope that in fact, slow ticket sales were the reason for the Salt Lake City postponement/cancellation rather than something so foreseeable as a conflict with wedding events. I don't know, with carriekins pointing out that Dierks' wife is expecting right around that time and tickets were actually soft, there's motivation there to postpone the date until a later time. With that information plus Dierks getting on the Luke date, it sounds to me that there are a lot of factors in play here that made them come to this decision a little easier, not solely resting on Miranda's shoulders. As a fan of Miranda's, I'm more annoyed with the fact that nearly nothing has been said about the Pistol Annies and their cancellation of dates and really everything, than about the postponement of one straggling date at the end of a long outing. I come from the school of thought that artists who commit to performing a concert on a certain date should treat cancellation/postponement as a matter of last resort. So all I was trying to say is that if the concert cancellation/postponement were due solely or even mostly to something as foreseeable as Kelly Clarkson's wedding, then it would speak poorly of Miranda and/or Dierks' regard for their fans. For that reason, I hoped that the primary impetus was weak ticket sales and that it was the promoter who pulled the plug. Not that that would make it any better for the fans, but at least it wouldn't be the artists canceling. It does appear that there are other matters of scheduling that may ease the sting of canceling for Miranda and Dierks. The Pistol Annies situation is just bizarre. Miranda covered their June concert dates, so she did look after fans there. There wasn't an official statement released to all outlets, just a denial to one outlet (Wendy Geller of Yahoo!) of rumors that the group had broken up, and no official explanation of what happened. It appears to me that the group is banking a bit off accumulated good will to avoid intrusive press exploring its hiatus. The group hasn't performed together anywhere since mid-May, despite all three continuing to be active musically in the past few months. Ashley joined Miranda at a show in mid-June ( here's a tweet to that effect), but Angeleena seems to have joined a different orbit of artists. "Hush Hush" fizzled out (surprisingly, after a launch with much hullaballoo) and was followed with a solo Miranda single. I had wondered if Sony Nashville decided to release a fifth single from Miranda's album in an effort to bank off the renewed momentum from "Mama's Broken Heart," leaving "Hush Hush" as a casualty. But I'm not too convinced by that possibility, and think it's more likely "All Kinds of Kinds" stepped in for "Hush Hush" because of whatever happened to the Annies. My pet theory is that Angeleena was infuriated by the Pistol Annies' participation on "Boys 'Round Here," but that may or may not be me projecting. ;) In seriousness, though, it seems fairly clear there is a personal rift at work here, and perhaps the hope is that it will eventually blow over before the group feels obligated to address what happened.

But you can access it from their homepage. "There was no foul play" -- good Lord, I should hope not. I don't think the person who said that knows what "foul play" means!!

Angaleena Presley married Jordan Powell on Tuesday (May 22) in Jackson Hole, Wyo. He was at that time Miranda Lambert‘s tour manager. He is now the tour manager for Will Hoge so there may be a connection with that.

Question: Stumbling around some music tonight, I see Jerrod Niemann released an album (Yellow Brick Road) on April 29 (on Aria Tree/C5 Records). Is this a release of the unreleased Behind the Microphone? Or is this a completely new album? Or some side project? It is a 9 track album including his first two singles from that unreleased album plus "Whiskey Kind of Way" from his last album. I am looking for any info I can get on this release. I didn't see anyone talk about that on here at all.

Per People Mag, Jana Kramer and Brantley Gilbert have ended their engagement. Sorry for both of them. That's really too bad. I feel for both of them. And I understand it's a personal matter so I don't want to comment too much on it, but I've read many unfortunate comments on the web. It seems that the majority of Brantley's fan-base (which is a big one) is coming down very hard on Jana. Lots of comments saying that Brantley was too good for her, that Jana isn't faithful, etc. I won't go on, because some of them are downright mean, but I think you get the picture. I just hate it when fans go off about stuff like this...they don't have any idea how it happened or how Brantley or Jana are feeling. They should be giving each artist words of encouragement and well wishes and things of that sort, but instead, when it comes to celebrity news, there are a lot of people that aren't rational about things. And right now it seems that social media is ablaze with degrading comments about Jana. Ugh.

Random question. Did any stations edit "here for the beer and the ball-bustin' band" out of "Here for the Party"? I swear I heard an edit, but I don't recall since I never really cared for that song, and haven't heard it in a long time.

So you never know. ;)

Jo Dee Messina may be the next country star to join the Dancing with the Stars lineup this fall:
"Well, got in from touring this week. It's the longest I've been away from my Mom in months. As soon as we got in I headed to airport to fly to LA. I had a meeting with the folks at ABC and Dancing With The Stars. I'm hoping to get on there for the fall season. (fingers crossed) The folks out there were so nice. I really enjoyed meeting with them. Dispite all the travel dramas with delays, I'm glad I went." -- JDM's Facebook

I use the chart at AllAccess.com. It doesn't show spin and audience increases in comparison to yesterday (and you can't compare them yourself because the Kworb site, which contains daily chart archives, is down), but you can at least get the positions, bullets, and spin and AI counts.

I think Kworb's site is just having some glitches. It was down yesterday morning as well but then came online later in the day. I'm sure it'll be back up soon. He does have a Pulse profile so I don't think he's going anywhere.
