#35 on album pre-orders. Nice! Katy Perry's album is at #30, and that has snippets available for all tracks. I don't know if her album has been up for pre-order longer, but seems like this is doing fairly well. It will probably drop over the next few days until they get the single out (any. day. now.), but nice start! I see this opening similarly to the GH, which would be great.

White Christmas is absolutely beautiful. Love it. "We have a few songs from the last album that we love but didn't want to go to waste and be album tracks and have the potential to be singles." omggg DON'T EVER GIVE UP ON ME. And: "I might cut two or three more songs, but we basically have the next album." Freaking out right now. If she puts Don't Ever Give Up On Me on an album, I will just go crazy with excitement.

Here are the ones I could see her using, based on what's on my Itunes and memory.
Most likely choices: Don't Ever Give Up on Me - Obviously the best. I can only imagine the endless possibilities w/ drums, strings, ect. Call Me - I could see them using a decked out country version, since it was written for Reba. Whoever Did That Wasn't Me - this was country and sounded pretty much finished. Scared of the Dark - It wasn't her on the demo, but it sounded like it could be big! Esp. w/ the vocals of the KC! The title was being thrown around. I Wish I Could Be Lonely Instead - Sounds more like a filler though. Naked Eye - that one leaked right before everything else. Not sure if it was an AIEW reject or Stronger reject though.
Ones that can most likely be ruled out: Wash Rinse Repeat - she said her label didn't like it (obviously!) Who's That Girl - I would love for her to do something like this, but she said in an interview that she wouldn't use it. But hey, w/ her new man and new found confidence anything is possible!
What we do know to expect: She did a song w/ Darkchild a while ago which someone said was really good. Working/worked w/ Greg Kurstin.
I'm been so excited about the Christmas album that I forgot that we are just that much close to the release of the next album next year! Bring on Underneath the Tree now!

This is the part where I say, for the 10,000th time, that there is a song called "All I Know" that should go on her upcoming album. I would even accept it as a country version if she wants it on that album although I would prefer it be an acoustic song just like in her live set.

I will delete my life if she puts a GOSPEL moment on the album, I can't stress enough how badly I want this.

I doubt the carryover songs are any of the songs that leaked. Sad, but w/e.

Don't Ever Give Up on Me is too slow for today's music industry. It doesn't have to be a single. And my god, do you have anything positive to say? Ever?

Don't Ever Give Up On Me...
...doesn't have to be a single. ...has only been heard in demo form. ...is no slower than "Someone Like You," "Stay," "When I Was Your Man," "Same Love" (noted: all these singles required the right momentum) ...is one of her best-written songs. ...hasn't been even remotely confirmed to be on the next or any album, and its best chance was to end up on Stronger. ...is worthy of hoping for placement on any future album because it's that good.
So.

BMI presented Sweden’s Jörgen Elofsson (STIM) and U.S. writing partner Ali Tamposi (BMI) with the Song of the Year Award (The Robert S. Musel Award) for penning the global hit Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You), performed by Kelly Clarkson. This award is given to the most-performed song in the BMI catalogue on US. radio and television over the past twelve months. Perfect Storm Music Group (STIM) and Universal Music Publishing (STIM) published the song. www.musicweek.com/news/read/bmi-awards-2013-all-the-winners/056394"Dark Side" was also included on the list!

Don't Ever Give Up on Me is too slow for today's music industry. Ignoring the ridiculousness, and I try to, ("today's music industry") and it's apparent perimeters , let's all live in a world where tempo is an immovable phenom and clouds are made of candy.

Where can one listen to this Don't Ever Give Up On Me?I want Close Your Eyes on her country release, particularly if it's a cd with Trisha and Reba as their voices would harmonize greatly on that song. vimeo.com/49334342

I'd love to see some fun special guests on her Christmas show... Based on who she's performed with in the past, I wouldn't be surprised to see Daughtry, Trisha, Demi, Blake, Miranda and Ronnie Dunn.

Loved the Rachael Ray interview! She said she did consider doing Idol and wouldn't say no to AI/Voice/XFactor if her schedules allowed her to do it. There is still hope!

Well didn't Kelly say the carryover songs have the potential to be singles? At least, that's what I got from dbhmr's quote of the interview.
That's probably what Clarksonnumber1 was getting at.

Kelly should stay away from the Idol franchise plus she is too nice that doesn't make good tv. I would be happy with her on The Voice though and having a singer with perfect technique, tone and pitch would be new for that franchise. Plus she has been in the contestants shoes and also experienced where they wanna go so it would be getting the perfect mentor.

That's what I figured, but even so, piano-driven ballads are one more pop star away from becoming perfunctory anyway.

Ignoring the ridiculousness, and I try to, ("today's music industry") and it's apparent perimeters , let's all live in a world where tempo is an immovable phenom and clouds are made of candy. Because I listen to Pop music today, and realize uptempo songs dominate. It's the same reason that The War Is Over(which some here wanted as a single) would have flopped miserably. Usually when picking Kelly's singles I want uptempo songs, and there's a reason for that. It's a nice album track, but unless Don't Ever Give Up On Me was changed drastically from the demo I don't see it as single material. Once again, difference of opinion angers Jack.

Nobody said it has to be a single though. Even then, I don't see how that makes sense because there are so many stripped ballads that have done well recently....When I Was Your Man, Stay, I Won't Give Up, Just Give Me A Reason.....and no, if The War Is Over were to flop, its tempo would have absolutely nothing to do with it. The fact that you mentioned that one is funny because there are tons more power ballads like that one which have been hits recently.
