She is trying to woo the Coco with this fabulous song and video dedicated to the other half of my heritage! Won't last beyond this however I do appreciate the gesture. Let's see her take on my people before I give her kudos tho.

'Dream' On: "Dark Horse" is the second Hot 100 No. 1 from Perry's album "PRISM," following lead single "Roar," which ruled for two weeks in September. With Perry having logged five No. 1s from her last album, "Teenage Dream" (tying Michael Jackson's "Bad" in 1987-88 for the most No. 1s from an album), she joins a select group of (now five) women who've tallied multiple No. 1s from consecutive studio albums. Mariah Carey collected multiple Hot 100 No. 1s from an incredible four consecutive studio sets (excluding her 1994 holiday release "Merry Christmas"). She notched two from 1993's "Music Box" ("Dreamlover," "Hero"); three from 1995's "Daydream" ("Fantasy," "One Sweet Day," with Boyz II Men, "Always Be My Baby"); two from 1997's "Butterfly" ("Honey," "My All") and two from 1999's "Rainbow" ("Heartbreaker," featuring Jay Z, and "Thank God I Found You," featuring Joe and 98 Degrees). Whitney Houston earned multiple No. 1s from three straight studio efforts: "Whitney Houston" yielded three in 1985-86 ("Saving All My Love for You," "How Will I Know," "Greatest Love of All"); "Whitney" produced four in 1987-88 ("I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)," "Didn't We Almost Have It All," "So Emotional," "Where Do Broken Hearts Go"); and, "I'm Your Baby Tonight" generated two in 1990-91 (the title cut, "All the Man That I Need"). Janet Jackson managed the achievement over two albums. She scored four No. 1s from 1989's "Rhythm Nation 1814" ("Miss You Much," "Escapade," "Black Cat," "Love Will Never Do (Without You)") and two from 1993's "Janet." ("That's the Way Love Goes," "Again"). Paula Abdul created the elite club in 1989-91. She posted four No. 1s from 1989's "Forever Your Girl" ("Straight Up," the title track, "Cold Hearted," "Opposites Attract," with the Wild Pair) and two from 1991's "Spellbound" ("Rush Rush," "The Promise of a New Day"). (Looking ahead, should Perry post a third No. 1 from "PRISM" [perhaps potential single candidates like "Birthday," "Walking on Air" or "International Smile"?], she'd join Houston as the only women with at least three leaders from consecutive studio albums.) Hard to know the criteria for this 'record'. You don't care if there was a Xmas album in between for Mariah, but how about a full soundtrack album like I'm Breathless and a greatest hits? Madonna could at least be considered as having #1 in 3 consecutive studio albums then...

This video won't count as streams towards the song though.. Is there a reason why they wouldn't count? The only time a song counts is when it has been flagged by the YouTube scanner, this happens automatically on all videos, if it finds 30 seconds of a song then it will automatically monetize the video on the labels behalf. The way to see if this has happened is by looking in the description of the video, or the ''about'' section beneath the video. if it has been flagged then the artwork of the song will appear, along with its title and usually a link to buy it from iTunes. The video above doesn't have this. one reason might be that the advertisers (Bud) already compensated the artist for the use of their song. and as such the artist wont be able to monetize the video the same way they would if their song was flagged on just a random video. Its a bit complicated but i tried my best to explain!

But how about those 30-second clips that made Harlem shit a multi week #1 hot 100 hit?? Or the wrecking ball parodies? Or the goat remixes of Taylor's song? Did all of them go into that trouble or the label check all the viral versions? ~confused~

Will Dark Horse be Wrecking Ball'd? Let Her Go is coming back to life quickly in sales and, possibly, streams. This video has over 10 million views in less than a day, and it has darted from 14-6 on iTunes in just that amount of time. plz nooooooo let Dark Horse conquer the #1 position for like 2 months up until Talk Dirty takes the crown

#1 for the year-end Hot 100. I've never been as excited for a single since Womanizer.

If you mean radio updates re: Kworb it's not his site it's AllAccess that's screwed up and not updating.

The fact that the bullet has rebounded to where it is is just :o
What I like abut this track is that, after the chorus ends, it sounds as if it's going to explode into one of those interchangeable dance/pop tracks we hear on radio. But it so doesn't.

I just want more DH performances I also hope Katy goes onto every talk show, but I hope she only goes and does songs that need some help. Why "waste" promo spots?
