I still listen to Invincible often. I don't feel it got a fair shake at the time and there is definitely a solid album in there, he just needed an editor. If anyone has the opportunity I highly recommend listening to it on vinyl. There must have been some issue with the digital formatting/compression of the album on CD but it sounds much more crisp on vinyl. With some edits it could have been a really great piece of work.
I would have gone with a solid 12 track release:

They were even kind of long for 2001. I wanted to love this cd but I don't think I added many songs on it except "You Rock My World" on any mixes. I remember listening to the cd a little but couldn't pick out favorites for some reason out of the upbeat tracks. They all sounded very similar in a way. I like them?? I guess "Heartbreaker" would be my favorite. The midtempos were all ok and I wasn't into the ballads all that much.

Break of Dawn - Heaven Can Wait - Butterflies is a holy trinity but “Whatever Happens” is the overlooked gem from this album.

I mean “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough” is over 6 minutes long and that was the first single of his adult solo career. Apparently the editing process was torture for him and if he had his way many of his songs would be even longer. I think it’s time you revisit the album because the ballads on it are some of his finest!! :)

"Cry" sounds good too. I'm also going back to "Heartbreaker" for uptempos and "Break Of Dawn"...

So... How are things in US after that documentary and all the witch hunt after him now?
I ask because in Europe I think no one believed in it and 90% at least of people thought it was all fake... or did not even gave it a thought or had in mind anything similar like not playing his music and ...

It’s like Michael singlehandedly cancelled Cancel Culture because I have actually heard his music out *more* than I did before the hit piece came out. It’s not surprising to hear that many Europeans called bulls**t though, many did here too as well, but I think a lot of people rushed to judgement because that’s the cultural moment here in the US. Now that their lies have been exposed multiple times, the dust has settled.

From statistical point of view, it's a pity that Jacko and Madonna broke through in the 80s instead of 90s and 00s, they'd have much bigger #1 hits.
I think the controversy around the documentary will fade in a few years if new evidence and victims don't suddenly appear. There are radio stations in Finland that don't play his music any more though.

I've definitely heard his music out and about more in the past half year than usual. I think if the documentary had come out while he was alive, maybe it'd have a more lasting effect, but at this point, at the speed of today's news cycle, people moved on a while back. Except Starbucks, but weirdly I've heard more Chris Brown there since so...go figure.

There was a HUGE Michael dance party last night in the Wynwood Art District in Miami for Art Basel. Insane. It was amazing seeing so many people getting down to Michael in the streets

If you don't have anything better to do on New Yeras eve or during weekend There is a Serbian film called Monument to Michael Jackson m.imdb.com/title/tt1597725/It was awarded in Santa Monica film festival as best east European film... so... Yeah... ;) I think the monument used for the film is in the village where it was filmed or maybe it was moved to capital Belgrade

I‘m wondering if anybody knows how his songs would have performed on the Hot100 the weeks after his death. Could any song have reached a new peak? Would he have overtaken his sister on the All-time Hot100 chart?
