He's gross. Everything about him pings my "giant tool" meter. That is all I have to say. You know when people have big tools? Interesting skill to have. ;) Other than that one tweet, what have you seen that makes him "gross?" Not saying you're wrong, but just don't think it's fair to say such a unkind statement without giving any reasons. I'd personally drop anyone that sang the lyrics to this song(never mind defending them) squarely in the "tool" & "gross" category. I'd also add that those tweets should earn him a douche bag of the year nomination.

Well, it happened. This is now Top 40. If you hear what sounds like a grown man screaming an endless string of profanities, and it sounds like it's coming from somewhere in Michigan, that was probably me.

Only female, from NC. ;) It's the 'showdown' song against Big & Rich on one of my local stations. I literally said "oh, no" when I saw the tweet.

I'm 24 years old and have been following the singles charts for close to 10 years now and have almost every peak of every single released to radio within that time period. But I have never had a song I truly, and I mean truly rooted against and had a real putrid hate for, but "Ready Set Roll" is it. I said a few months back that this song deserves zero success and I feel that way even more since those egotistical bonehead tweets. Hopefully this won't crack the top 40 on Mediabase so I won't have to be subjected to it on the Kingsley's countdown.

^ I agree. I have never had such vehement hatred for a country song in my life. There are songs that I turn off because they're bad, but this is a new low.

I tried listening to this, just to see how bad it could be. Wow.

It's all he knows. I don't know. I've heard That's How She Rolls and while it's leaps and bounds better than this steaming pile of festering crap (er...), it's still not great.

He just partnered with Columbia Nashville for radio promotion (he's already distributed by Sony's RED distribution and Thirty Tigers for album sales so it makes sense). Seems they felt RPM (who uses Sony Nashville for radio promotion), wasn't able to move the Needle enough.

I've decided that he is the solo version of Florida Georgia Line.

Well, sabre14, guess what #40 will be on Bob's countdown this weekend?

It's probably a win-win though...now RPM doesn't have to spend money promoting such a terrible song to radio And Columbia will probably be able to move the dial a little bit but even with pretty strong sales, I cannot see this one becoming a huge hit. It just screams polarizing to me and so I would expect it to hit a glass ceiling on the charts, even with a major label now backing him. The Microsoft Sam and "fine little a**" garbage lyrics are pretty far out there even for what today's country radio is willing to play. Columbia was able to get this a handful of more adds today (AddBoard already has Columbia listed as the label) but I think that this one will struggle to climb much further, or at least I pray that that's the case.

I feel sorry for anyone whose local affiliate plays American Country Countdown. Kix Brooks's whiny voice introducing this song must be your personal hell.

WYRK actually plays both Bob, and Kix's countdowns. Bob's is 8:00 A.M to Noon, and Kix's is 8:00 P.M to Midnight. They play the top 30 version of Kix's (thank the lord above). Kix's countdown is unbelievably bad. I know I've touched on this before but all of his extras (and there's a lot of them) are recent reccurents. Their version of a countdown extra is "Drunk Last Night", "Whatever She's Got", and "Wagon Wheel". Plus it takes him foreveeeerrrrr to countdown the charting singles. It must take him an hour to get through 5 songs. Kingsley has his flaws, and Lon's is boring, but I would glady take lullaby Lon back with open arms to get rid of American Country Countdown. "Ready Set Roll" is easily the most offensive single on country radio I've ever heard, and it's sung by the only country artist stupid and egotistical enough to respond to people on Twitter like that.

^ What do you not like about Kingsley? The only problem I have with him is that his research and editing are a bit sloppy at times, leading to things like him playing the wrong "She'll Leave You with a Smile" from George Strait, saying Lee Brice only had three other Top 10 hits when "Parking Lot Party" hit Top 10, or speeding up "Eight Second Ride" because the producer encoded the song wrong (I know this was what happened because I e-mailed the show and the producer told me).
WATZ plays Bob from 11 to 3, and then from midnight to 4 AM Monday. But I'm in church until about noon, so I miss the first hour. I can usually catch it by listening to a Vermont station online if I'm up for it.

^ When I said Kingsley has his flaws, I mean that literally. He messed up song titles and artists names more than a few times growing up. I remember him calling Jake Owen, Josh Owen once when it was either "Startin' With Me", or "Something About A Woman" charting. I also remember more than one time him messing up the chart number. Like let's say a song moved up from #24 to #22, and Bob would say up 1 to #22. Again, he has a interesting voice and it almost makes me feel good inside to hear his voice countdown the hits, but he has screwed up some minor details here and there while I never heard Lon screw anything up (Lon was on WYRK til 2008). But I suppose messing up someone's name isn't a minor detail but oh well. I do enjoy Kingsley though the most out of the three I've listened to.

Jake's real name is Joshua, so that might have been why Bob called him Josh, especially since he was just getting out to country radio at that time. Just a random tidbit of useless information. That's all I'm good for nowadays.

But thanks for the help. I forgot all about that.

Like many of y'all, I cannot find the words to describe this song or how I feel about it. Still shaking my head in disbelief about this polluting our already distorted airwaves soon enough. If this even goes top 20 (I know, it has a long ways to go on that front, but sadly I can't count it out yet), I don't even know what I'm gonna do. Maybe just give up on music in general and wing it from here on out? Find other sources of entertainment (already found at least one)? Can't really do much on a limited budget, unfortunately. :'(

It really is a case of RPM maybe wanting to focus on their own acts now. They have Maggie Rose and are soon to send singles from Chasin' Crazy (an instrument playing boy band) and Tate Stevens to country radio.

I keep expecting to see a remix of this with Billy Ray and Miley Cyrus: "Ready, Set, Don't Roll."

The Columbia staff sent out edited versions of this song (clean versions) if you will. Changed "get your fine ass" to get your fine self" because "Damn" is ok but Ass isn't? don't see how it needed it, but Ok. (They also sent out a clean version w/o the intro and "Ready set lets go" effect.)

As it is used in the song, "fine ass" was totally degrading and objectifying. It's my #1 complaint about the song. I am not kidding that if anybody told me to get my "fine ass" somewhere I'd punch them in the face. There is absolutely nothing nice about that phrase and the connotation in which it is used, and the fact that people seem to be okay with it and the current vernacular in country music ("get me some of THAT," "hey GIRL," etc) is disgusting and much of the problem that I have with country music and its current audience. /rant
