That seems VERY unlikely, since 'Cry' & 'There'll You'll Be' both barely made R&Rs top 10, and took MUCH longer to get there than 'Mississippi Girl' is on the verge of doing.
It's been awhile since any single cracked the top 10 in three weeks ('Have You Forgotten?' was the last tune to do so), so if she hits R&R's top 10 when they post their new charts tomorrow around 3 PM (PDT), then congratulations will be in order!!!

It's already a done deal. :) On the Sunday 9pm (PDT) update she was #10. LW TW Move Bullet Rise   Aud. 17 10 +7 611 26% 22.030 Those are her R&R numbers for the week.

I forgot to mention in my previous post that Faith got #10 and Toby was #11, but he had more spins and more audience than her. R&R's weird ranking formula at work again.

Just to let you know Tim's LLYWD cracked the Top 10 in 3 weeks on both charts.

It's also her fastest rising single EVER @ Billboard, and quite possibly at R&R as well.

That is correct, however, fastest rising CAN at times also mean fastest dropping. I remember There You'll Be debuted high and didnt end up going much farther after that. Not saying that's what will happen with this song, just pointing out its a possibility.

As my post stated....not saying that's what will happen with this song, just pointing out a possibility. For the most part, songs that rise fast, USUALLY fall just as fast.

Not always just look at Tim's single, LLYWD. It made top 10 in three weeks and #1 in 7 weeks. It then stayed for many weeks at #1 and top 10. Gosh it spent 10 weeks at #1 on Radio and Records for a 30 year record.
Today it is still in the Top 10 of recurrent airplay on country radio and to this day it is still in the top 10 on Billboard recurrent chart for ALL of music.

How many times and ways do I have to say that what I said doesn't replay to every fast climbing song??????

As Steelo has said several times before, a song can have a very splashy debut and soar to #1, such as 'Live Like You Were Dying', or have a splashy debut and take much longer to go to #1, with 'Love Gets Me Every Time' being an excellent example.
In the case of Faith Hiill, both 'Cry' & There'll You'll Be' reached the top 10 VERY quickly, only to plunge very dramatically.

And I think this one will too. And I don't think this is a catalouge hit for her either. I think huge debuts can be bad. The stations play the song too much and people get burned out.
I love the song! Bring it on! I need "Fireflies"!!!

Are Faith could be just like Tim with this song, and have a chart run like Tim's LLYWD.
Not always just look at Tim's single, LLYWD. It made top 10 in three weeks and #1 in 7 weeks. It then stayed for many weeks at #1 and top 10. Gosh it spent 10 weeks at #1 on Radio and Records for a 30 year record.

Also for your information Faith's song, "CRY' and "There'll You'll Be" NEVER made Top 10 on any country chart.
There'll You'll Be waas a hige success on AC chart spent 17 weeks at #1.
I think the Shania fan is just jealous because they know Shania is NOT going to get #10.

That's exactly it.. ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) I didn't know what you guys were talking about when you were mentioning "There You'll Be" because, as the wonderful kyhomeg pointed out, it wasn't a (edit) Top 10 country hit..unfortunetly it peaked at #11, barely missed..sad too because it is a great song

"There You'll Be" reached #9 at R&R, but stalled at #11 on the Billboard chart.

This certainly is an image change for Faith, the song is an embarrassing remake of Redneck Woman, and the new publicity shots confirm she is going for the Gretchen audience. It's sad that the country industry makes the artists "crawl" back to it to accept them. I hope the other songs in Faith's album will be better, this song I'll be skipping for sure.

Ya....ever since Gretchen's album came out with Pocahontas Proud, why do some of the other female singers think they now have to pay homage to where they came from? Trisha (although I absoultely LOVE her song) and Faith are just 2 that come to mind.

I heard that Sara will have a song like this on her cd as well. Titled "Missin Missouri". Although I think Faiths song is more of a "rip off" of Jennifer Lopez "Jenny From the Block"! I thought that the very first time I heard it.

This is the fast rising single by a female in years; it only needed three weeks to crack the top 10.
Although Toby Keith passed her, both singles should breeze into the top 5 rather easily.
At least TK's single has been streaking up the charts the way you'd expect a single of his to do, something he hadn't done in almost two years.

Faith Hill's "Mississippi Girl" Enters the Top 10 - Keith Urban's "Memories" Remains at No. 1
By: Craig Shelburne
Some may continue to debate whether she has changed or not, but that hasn't slowed down Faith Hill's "Mississippi Girl." Skipping ahead four spaces to No. 9, the four-week-old song marks her highest position on Billboard's country singles chart in four years. ("If My Heart Had Wings" soared to No. 3 in 2001. Her subsequent singles, "There You'll Be" and "Cry," did not make the country Top 10.) Her album Fireflies is expected in late summer.
With all but one song increasing in radio spins this week, "Mississippi Girl" has plenty of competition in the Top 10. Keith Urban's "Making Memories of Us" retains the No. 1 spot for the fourth week. Rascal Flatts' "Fast Cars and Freedom" and Dierks Bentley's "Lot of Leavin' Left to Do" hold steady at second and third place, respectively. George Strait's "You'll Be There" rises to No. 4, and Sugarland's "Something More" climbs to 5.
Meanwhile, Kenny Chesney pumps his "Keg in the Closet" to No. 6, and Toby Keith's "Good As I Once Was" jumps five positions to No. 7. At No. 8, Trace Adkins' "Songs About Me" is on the way out. Darryl Worley's "If Something Should Happen" ascends to No. 10.
Lonestar's "You're Like Comin' Home" debuts on the singles chart at No. 51. Billy Dean enters at No. 52 with "This Is the Life."
Not much has changed on the albums chart this week. Keith's Honkytonk University hangs on to the top spot, just ahead of Rascal Flatts' Feels Like Today, Urban's Be Here and Sugarland's Twice the Speed of Life. Cowboy Troy's Loco Motive, which has already sold more than 100,000 copies, remains at No. 5.
Bentley's Modern Day Drifter lands at No. 6, followed by Gretchen Wilson's Here for the Party at No. 7, Larry the Cable Guy's The Right to Bare Arms at No. 8, Big & Rich's Horse of a Different Color at No. 9 and Chesney's When the Sun Goes Down at No. 10.
No new albums debuted on the country chart this week. However, Blue Moon Rising debuts at No. 14 on the bluegrass chart with On the Rise.

It seems someone else agrees with you, at least in regard to the Gretchen comparison. The following is from a June 11 article with comments on all of the major upcoming CD releases. Faith Hill, Fireflies: Now that Gretchen Wilson has made trailer-trash country chic, expect to see bandwagon-jumper Hill sporting a tube top and blue jeans again -- until the next trend comes along. Faith's single has hit a bump a road and is no longer keeping pace with Toby or Kenny. When her spins reached 3101 four days ago, she suddenly stopped climbing in a meaningful way. Prior to that she was going up at a breakneck pace. Her net gain after going through a down-up-down-up cycle in the last four days is just 17 spins. In that same time period Toby gained 203, and Kenny gained 127.
It could just be a temporary glitch. The same thing happened to Dierks at 2500 spins, and then he resumed taking off.

I think its just the fact that the top 10 is very clogged up rite now...u can see it in that alot of the songs are stuck around the same position for awhile...also ive noticed that sometimes 2nd & 3rd singles off cds will rise fast but than burn out faster...since faith is a 1st single it could have longer "staying" power...i would expect that after sugurland, toby, kenny have had their run near the top it will then be faith turn because the programmers feel the song will still be there.
