This feels like a bit of a bigger year for it than the others (beyond its debut), which is a good sign.
It’s still perfect.

Up to #61 on spotify! I'd love for this to reach a new peak this year even if it's only by a few spots. This definitely feels like the biggest its been since it was released, would be cool to see it climb a bit more each year until it becomes the classic it deserves to be.

Holiday music in general seems huge this year. A lot of songs have reached new peaks and/or are doing really well ("Santa Tell Me" being another one). It's interesting.

Spotify created a bunch of new holiday playlists and are plastering them all over the place this year, so that explains the rise in a bunch of Christmas songs this year. The great thing, though, is there are plenty of tracks being used that aren't as high as this one is, suggesting that this is truly on its way to becoming a holiday annual classic! In the US, it's the 15th highest Christmas song today, with literally all the ones ahead of it being songs already labeled as classics save two: "Santa Tell Me" (Ariana, who's huge right now) and "Mistletoe" (Bieber, who's just a streaming monster), which are undoubtedly on their way to that status as well.

I've been hearing this a lot more this year so far than previous years, including its release! Been stuck in my head the last few days. Glad that it's doing well in the UK. :)

Aside from Mariah's song, this is the best original Christmas song in a long, long time.

I think this is the new AIWFCIY, probably it'll be huge next decade or so.

I think this is the new AIWFCIY, probably it'll be huge next decade or so. She just needs something Love, Actually-esque to catapult this to the next level. I don't expect it to dethrone AIWFCIY in any way, but I do think it has the potential to become on the level of "Last Christmas" and leave other modern Christmas songs in the dust, and maybe even become a contender for her signature song, in the way that AIWFCIY has, over time, clearly become Mariah's in spite of a suitcase full of #1s.

#89-#69-#55 is its chart run in the UK this year so far. It'll likely chart higher in next week's chart. It's currently #31 in the UK airplay chart.

I feel like this had its biggest year last year, outside of the year it was released. Hope it continues to trend up, this song is a fucking classic.

A mock update for this. We'll never get to see the actual data since it's a gold track, but this is fun to look at anyway!
AC G G KELLY CLARKSON Underneath The Tree 317 40 277 4.424
That puts it at #16 if it were a current. It's #32 on the format with recurrents factored in.

I’m happy to see Underneath The Tree doing well this early. It’s the closest we have to a Christmas classic released this century.

It really is one of the only good 'modern' Christmas songs released recently

Mock Updates for US Radio*
*Mock updates come from AllAccess. Mediabase has the track as gold, so we can't ever see it's total data. Please note that it's likely that for most of these formats, it has more airplay than indicated, especially the higher up on the chart is would theoretically be.
AC ?? ?? KELLY CLARKSON Underneath The Tree 464 449 15 3.146 Enough to be #6 on the format's current chart, #2 on recurrents, and #7 current/recurrent charts.
Hot AC ?? ?? KELLY CLARKSON Underneath The Tree 42 39 3 0.174
Pop ?? ?? KELLY CLARKSON Underneath The Tree 19 7 12 0.05
Country ?? ?? KELLY CLARKSON Underneath The Tree 9 9 0 0.053
