I’m just here to say that I hope this becomes the next modern holiday classic. Underneath The Tree is too good not to be. Plus, I still hear it every year in stores and malls during the holiday season. I hope Kelly gives us a performance of this on her talk show in December.

This is flying up my ‘all time favorite Christmas songs’ list every year. It’s such a mood.

This, Christmas Eve, and Wrapped in Red (the song) deserve to be Christmas classics. Kelly found her niche here and I hope she does more originals in the future.

This thread gets bumped earlier and earlier every year lol. If it was anyone else I'd be annoyed. But anything from Wrapped in Red is a solid 11/10 A+ so it's fine.

This is already getting bigger and bigger every year, not just in the States. Santa Tell Me is up there with Mariah and Wham for streaming numbers but I feel like think this will be the true holiday classic of the generation when all is said and done.

As far as I can tell, UTT is the 20th most-streamed Christmas song of all time on Spotify. I’ll be watching its climb closely this year!

I'm just seeing this and it's very interesting research. I think "Underneath the Tree" and "Santa Tell Me" are both on their ways to becoming classics, based on this: The full research data is available here: p1mediagroup.com/christmas-2/ (Note: whoever threw in Katy Perry's "Cozy Little Christmas" into this list is shady af 😩😩😩)

I posted in this thread a few days back that UTT is the #20 most-streamed Christmas song ever on Spotify. It was actually #21 — I had been excluding "Hallelujah" by Pentatonix, since the song has nothing to do with Christmas or winter, but I decided to add it back in because it's a track on a Christmas album and gets the vast majority of its streams at Christmastime.
Anyway, now it actually is #20, as it's surpassed Sam Smith's "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas."
To get to #19, it has to catch up to Paul McCartney's "Wonderful Christmastime," which it trails by 9.6m total streams.

It's now only 2.2 million behind "Wonderful Christmastime," which has risen to #18.

"Underneath the Tree" rises a spot for the third time so far this year — it just passed "Fairytale of New York" to become #18. Yes, that means Kelly's still chasing "Wonderful Christmastime" (#17), but not for long — McCartney's tune is only ahead by 0.4 million.

This is definitely the 2000s version of AIWFCIY. Give us like 13 more years and it will peak.

This will eventually replace "Since U Been Gone" as her signature song in a few years.

Slept on but melodically and feeling evoked this is the best christmas song since 1994. PERIODT
Writing a new classic Christmas song is very difficult and not everyone can do that.

I think this is the next contemporary classic after "All I Want For Christmas Is You". 20 years later, those will be the only two songs that people will remember from now.

A great Christmas song from Kelly's great Christmas album. The next modern Christmas classic for sure. :)

what are the chances of this hitting the Top 10? it's currently the 11th biggest Christmas song. also "Mood" and "positions" might be the only non-Christmas songs in the top 10 this week, so my guess is no. I think it'll have a better chance next year, and she really should release a music video.

This song is so good and just gets better every year.
