WEEK 50 (November 12, 2016)2 weeks to go! Notes/Analysis: - With the entry of Side To Side, Tiimmy Turner and Starving appear to be the only songs left that will also make the year-end chart.
- Panda has been falling pretty quickly, as of late, so we'll see if Stressed Out can stay ahead (very unlikely). Next week, Panda would be right around Stressed Out's point value meaning that leaving soon could play a part in their "face off."
- CSTF! and Closer are looking to be the #9 and #10 finishers at the moment, imo. Cheap Thrills and 7 Years will be close for 11 and 12.
- Needed Me is likely to sneak in at #13 on my predictions while My House, ITAPII, and Work From Home are very tight for 14-16.
- Ride and Heathens are actually going to finish very close to one another at 20 and 21. 21P looks secure to have the #21 song.
- It'll be tough for Same Old Love to finish at #42 with the current point gap I have between itself and LIGLY. It can still be passed by Controlla, Broccoli and IHU,ILU but that wouldn't be enough.
Legend: Blue = Actively charting in the hot 100's top 10. Bold = Actively charting on the hot 100. * = Reached its highest peak in a separate time period.

Alright! So now that that’s taken care of, as I was going to say… Here I may be kinda thinking a bit to the future, but what songs that will end up here do we think will make 2017’s Year-End list, too? Of the songs that are currently on the Hot 100 that are set for 2016’s list…
Will definitely make next year’s list: Let’s see… Closer, Starboy and Heathens will all make it for sure (Heathens is still holding very well, even though it’ll probably peak on airplay soon it still has great momentum, and will gain more when it gets spun by the radio stations at the end of the year - more on that in a bit). The two Bieber tracks, Cold Water and Let Me Love You, should make it unless they leave the Top 10 like next week and have a huge collapse, which I doubt they will. Broccoli and Side To Side should make it too. And I Hate U, I Love U has been a sleeper hit, and seeing as it re-entered the Top 10 this week it could stick around.
No chance: Panda, Needed Me, Ride, Send My Love (To Your New Lover), Too Good, Controlla, Into You, We Don’t Talk Anymore, Sucker For Pain, Hymn For The Weekend, LUV, Sit Still, Look Pretty, Tiimmy Turner and No Limit. Most of these are falling and will be out before long.
Possibly: First we have the massive smashes that are still here. One Dance has some streaming to save it, but that will only get it so far, especially with no YouTube. Don’t Let Me Down, Can’t Stop the Feeling!, and Cheap Thrills, while all losing in everything, if they don’t leave before the end of the year, could gain last minute boosts from the radio stations that will be playing them for their own year-end lists (and CSTF has the Trolls release very soon, although that’ll be the final week of this year). This Is What You Came For is in the same boat, but I wish it would drop harder already and not make Decade-End. Treat You Better and Gold are both still decently high, so they could make it again as well. So is Starving, although that one is newer than those two so its stability may be more likely to not fall apart. Unsteady has been dropping slowly and could become a sleeper hit and then make this one too, but it’s doubtful.
What do you guys think? How accurate would you say these predictions are? Thanks!

Odds of Chill Bill being like White Iverson for 2017? in terms of chart run? I love that song a lot and hope it can make year end 2017.

Needed Me is still holding on. 39 weeks and going strong. It'll most likely pass Love Yourself and become the longest running song of the year (it'll tie it chart-year wise having only 2 weeks left, leaving both at 41). I'm guessing Needed Me is the longest-running song on the Hot 100 to not peak in the Top 5. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Now that we're getting "Closer" to see the year end chart in the official Billboard website... Here are some of my predictions.
1 What Do You Mean can be 33 this year too? There might still be a chance?! But I'm not entirely sure, it'll probably end up in 32 instead :/ 2 Same Old Love = 42? Nah. It'll probably end up in the 39-41 range. 3 "Closer" will probably miss the top 10 by like 1-2 spots. I predict it will end up in 13. 4 "Low Life" might be 30 in the year end. 5 NO will be in top 45 6 Gold will not enter top 50 7 Sucker For Pain, Unsteady and Hymn For The Weekend will end up in 3 consecutive positions. 8 LUV ended up right below/above Say It 9 The cut off song is Somewhere on a beach 10 Timmy Turner and Starving will replace positions 99 and 100 on the prediction year end chart currently. (in the end)

54generation no way Closer is 13, it is still number 1 and gaining by a lot, it could be 9th, and some people are even thinking that it could pass Hello and DLMD for 7th.

I really hope Starving can made YE Chart pretty sure Starving is set to make this years YE chart as it's almost top 10 and very close to the current top 100 (just over 10k off, and it's scoring well in the 10 range per week given it's close to top 10 status). I just hope it makes next year's YE as well... It kinda reminds me of Here last year so hopefully it gets a similar, if not better, run

Also, totally random, but four country songs just entered the Top 10 on iTunes, supposedly as a result of the Country Music Awards last night (I didn't watch it; I watched the World Series finale) - My Church, Humble and Kind, Vice, and Die A Happy Man.
I highly doubt that'd be enough to get any of them back on the Hot 100 for the final week of the year, but I thought that craziness is definitely worth mentioning.

No way for Let Me Love You to pass Same Old Love?
In any case, maybe there was a mistake or something. I know you're not supposed to hope for mistakes but anything to keep Same Old Love at 42. (desperate)

"Can't Stop The Feeling" is also attached to the new Trolls movie. Although the movie should impact "Can't Stop The Feeling" in the last week of 2016, it still could give it enough momentum to make the 2017 list.

I'm intrigued [/quote] My Year End Chart is the one Spotify offers you in early December. It's called Year In Music. It is currently offline because Spotify staff is getting things ready for 2016. As for the position I mentioned, I also use a site called SmarterPlaylists so I can have a look at my 50 most played tracks of the year. The only reason I do not trust this website 100% is because I started using it in April, meaning it does not have data for the first three mouths of 2016. I also have a last.fm account, but I started using it in May (I had it since December 2015, but only connected it to Spotify in May ), so this one is even less trustwhorthy.

I joined Pulse in May. I wasn't here at the beginning of the year, so I don't know what normally goes on.
What happens after a year wraps up? I'm guessing the points reset.

The points going towards this year's chart are gathered from all the points songs got from the first chart week of December 2015 to the last week of this month. Next year's chart will do the same but instead combine all the points from the first week of December 2016 until the last week of November 2017 and so on :)

"Love Yourself" is pretty much set to be 2016 Year End #1. It also happens to be one of my least favorite songs of the year. Seriously, there haven't been a Year End #1 song that I'd dislike this much since 1991's "Everything I Do" by Bryan Adams.

For me it isn't that I dislike Love Yourself, it's just that it seems like such a nonevent in the grand scheme compared to songs like Uptown Funk, Happy, Thrift Shop, Somebody That I Used to Know, Rolling in the Deep, etc. Year-end #1s usually just usually seem so MASSIVE to me, and Love Yourself doesn't.

Lose Yourself had a better run than Sorry.
