Anything can happen in 2015, but I'll guarantee you this: Blank Space will no doubt make the top 10 in 2015 at the rate it's going.

I'm pleasantly surprised about him being wrong about Royals/Let It Go (sorry I was never really a fan of LIG I found it to be overrated so I am glad that Royals is top 20 instead)

Nicely predicted, Daniel. So there is a science behind all this, after all.
With 4 titles, Iggy is credited with the most entries of all artists. But Katy, Jason, Ariana, Sam and Chris gave her a run for the money with 3 titles each.
After the US, there are: UK artists in 16 entries AU acts in 7 titles (Iggy, Sia, 5SOS) CA acts in 4 titles (Magic, Drake) SE acts in 3 titles (Avicii, Tove) NZ (Lorde), BB (Rihanna) and DE/RU (Zedd) in 2 titles each, and finally, CO (Shakira), FR (DJ Snake), NL (Martin), NO (Nico), ZA (Kongos) and ES (Enrique) acts in 1 entry each.

Wow, you actually nailed almost the entire list, I'm impressed. I'm actually very surprised that "Studio" made the list considering it only peaked at #38, and that now makes it the lowest peaking song to ever had made the year end list. And do you guys find it strange that "0 To 100" made the list despite only peaking at #35 and only charting 17 weeks during the chart run? You only got 4 songs wrong, but that's okay. Very impressive prediction overall.

Amazing, Daniel. I counted only 21 songs that were off by more than 2 places, all towards the bottom of the list. The near perfect score on the top 40 is remarkable.

2013&2014: (11 songs) #63/#05 Counting Stars - OneRepublic #97/#19 Let Her Go - Passenger #15/#20 Royals - Lorde #19/#22 Wake Me Up! - Avicii #62/#23 Demons - Imagine Dragons #18/#44 Wrecking Ball - Miley Cyrus #10/#46 Roar - Katy Perry #34/#55 Hold On We're Going Home - Drake ft. I'm almost sure there hasn't been. Such a song would have to spend like 80 weeks on the chart, and so far only Radioactive has done that.

Clearly the issue here is Billboard's decision to have the cutoff date be the end of November instead of the seemingly more sensible end of December. It's worked for the UK and Australia so far! Don't mind me, just being snarky. Impatience for the official list does that. Trying to assign a song to a specific year can be a highly subjective, even futile process, and there is often no clear answer. This has probably been something Billboard has battled with for decades, but they also have an early cutoff date because they need time to compile the charts, format and edit the magazine, write the articles, take pics, etc. This is largely driven by commercial purposes no doubt, as they must want to sell a lot of copies during the holiday period. This is not unique to Billboard. Most other publications have cutoff dates in November or earlier in order for their year-end issues to be released by mid-December.

For example, Problem will always be a song of 2014, or Heart Attack will always be song of 2013, but I get what you mean. A good example of this is The Monster or Timber. Maybe even Counting Stars

Maybe even Counting Stars Yeah a list of biggest hits released in 2013 would be nice instead of a "calendar year end" chart. Who knows how high Roar would be if it wasn't split in two year end countdowns.

The problem then is with songs that either last a long time (i.e. Radioactive, Dark Horse, the increasing number of songs lasting past a year) or get popular way after their release date (i.e. Come With Me Now, Latch, Sail, Let Her Go), which means the chart would have to be publicized 2 or 3 years after it's relevant in order to be accurate.
