Some rough estimations as for where songs will end up in the next year end: Rockstar-somewhere around #20 Havana-around #25 Bodak yellow-somewhere around #45 Thunder-around #50 TGAG-#40 What lovers do,perfect -the 50's 1-800,feel it still-the 60's Sorry not sorry,mi gente, gucci gang-70's Bank account, what about us-80's (both might not make it though) IGTB, no limit-too early to say but are probably a lock Bad at love, new rules,...ready for it?-look like they'll get caught between years

Bad at love, new rules,...ready for it?-look like they'll get caught between years I really hope "New Rules" doesn't get caught between years. I love New Rules. It gaining popularity is one of the reason why I'm actually looking forward to 2018 in pop music.

^Regarding the songs you mention that could get caught between years, a lot will depend on their longevity, since they've "wasted" some weeks toward the 2017 year-end. The only song (or two) that will definitely be caught between years are When It Rains It Pours and probably The Weekend, unless the latter has Location-like longevity.

Wow, last week. It feels strange, the year went by so fast. Good job this year boys, it was a fun ride. I'm so ready for 2018.

snoopdawg will have them up once he's added them all from this week. That and I believe he also said he plans to do the bottom 100 of songs and what their points looked like.
And yep, this is the last one for 2017's lineup. It is kind of odd that they do it for December - November and not January - December, I mean every (chart) year you have those songs that have been established as hits before the chart year is out but show up too late to make the current Year-End list, and would have made it if it was January - December (examples: some of the big 2014 hits in 2013, Take Me To Church and Blank Space in 2014, Sorry in 2015, 24K Magic and Black Beatles in 2016, Perfect and Gucci Gang this year, and vice versa).

They do the December-November time frame because they need time to tabulate the charts and prepare all the editorial content for the magazine in order to release it before the year is actually out (though it seems like they could extend it for a week or two). All types of publications and year-end rankings are this way, because it would seem anti-climactic to release it in January after the holidays when the new year has already begun, and they probably want to cash in on those holiday sales and the high-spending mood people are in. The problem of songs getting caught between years will happen no matter what time frame the chart year follows, since songs are released all year long.

Gosh, BLABR and Congratulations. Those songs didn't make the weekly top 5, but they become one of the biggest hits in 2017. BLABR is #1 in Country, while Congratulations is Top 3 in Rap.

The weakest #1 weeks of:The Hot 1001. "Bad And Boujee" - 38,560 (1st week, Jan. 14) Uh, pretty sure that Black Beatles was #1 that week, haha. Also, what was the highest amount of streaming that Shape Of You had when it was #1 in that category?

I didn't realize that "Bad & Boujee" and "HUMBLE." kept "Shape of You" to a mere 4 weeks at #1 in streaming.

The biggest #1 weeks of: The Hot 100 1. "Look What You Made Me Do" - 106,890 (1st week, Sep. 16) 2. "Despacito" - 76,740 (6th week, Jul. 1) 3. "Despacito" - 75,920 (7th week, Jul. 8) 4. "Despacito" - 75,110 (4th week, Jun. 17) 5. "Despacito" - 74,660 (5th week, Jun. 24) 6. "Despacito" - 74,080 (8th week, Jul. 15) 7. "Despacito" - 72,980 (9th week, Jul. 22) 8. "Despacito" - 68,790 (10th week, Jul. 29) 9. "Shape Of You" - 66,780 (4th week, Mar. 4) 10. "Shape Of You" - 65,670 (7th week, Mar. 25)
@snoopdawg According to your formula, how many points Black Beatles had in its 2nd/3rd/4th week at #1? I thought it was stronger than SOY and Despacito.

It gaining popularity is one of the reason why I'm actually looking forward to 2018 in pop music. I'm hoping and praying that it gets a healthy amount of time in the top 20 after this week to make it in the 2018 YE (including a top 10 peak)

Also I just gotta give a bunch of kudos to Closer, it looks like it might go 10-6 and at the very lowest 10-9 which in the era of the 52 week rule shouldn't even be possible, it's one of the most impressive things I've ever seen. Like no disrespect to How Do I Live or The Twist, they both deserve the spots in the Top 10 Twice list but if HDIL had to deal with the 52 week rule it would have lost 17 weeks and probably not gone top 10 back to back and The Twist did it with a resurgence in popularity, Closer and HDIL managed to turn 1 chart run into 2 year end top 10's. Great achievement for a great song

I have these weeks at #12 and #14, but using a multiplier (1.2296) to adjust for the fact that "post-Pandora" formula gives more points than "pre-Pandora", BB had the 2nd and 3rd biggest week of the year with 81,300 and 79,400 points.

Great achievement for a great song I think it's the second biggest Year-End achievement ever. CITW is #1. 2016 It's crazy that in just 15 weeks it was #10. 12 weeks at #1, leading Cold Water and Heathens by more than 70%, and adjusting its weekly points to 2017, five of those weeks were above 70k. 2017 Also crazy that Closer managed to stay in the top 10 for 17 weeks despite not being as big as SOY/UF were on AC format and overall airplay.

I searched a lot, but haven't found any occurrences of an artist with two songs in the year-end top 10 for two consecutive years. The Chainsmokers are close to achieve this with Closer/DLMD in 2016 + Closer/SJLT in 2017.

Great achievement for a great song "Closer" "great" lol

I searched a lot, but haven't found any occurrences of an artist with two songs in the year-end top 10 for two consecutive years. The Chainsmokers are close to achieve this with Closer/DLMD in 2016 + Closer/SJLT in 2017. Actually, if we're talking just before 1958/pre-Hot 100 days, none other than Elvis did it in 1956 and 1957 on Billboard's Top 100 chart, which was sort of the equivalent of the Hot 100 then, combining sales, airplay, and jukebox play. On these year-end lists, Heartbreak Hotel was #1, Don't Be Cruel #2, and Hound Dog #8 in 1956, and All Shook Up #1 and Too Much #9 in 1957: longboredsurfer.com/charts/1956

Undeserving achievement for the worst hit of the last two years I wouldn't quite go that far, to be honest. All four of those infamous songs by Meghan Meghans (Marvin Gaye, Dear Future Husband, No, and Me Too) most consider way worse.

Haha the haters make me LOL they're so just powerless and sad! 27 weeks top 5, back-to-back top 10 year end suckers, nothing you can do about it, the public has *spoken* and they recognize the greatness
