Her caviar ratchet is coming I want to finally get that Nas x Xtina collaboration. Make it happen on either this or her new album with a heavy hip-hop beat. I can't wait for Cavier Ratchet anthems.

She looks gorgeous there! We better be having a full-fledged studio album by November at the least.

She had a show yesterday, and she honestly sounded terrible. I'm not saying this to start shit or anything. I was genuinely shocked by how bad she sounded live. I was listening to some of her music today, and I hope she can at least give some decent music this go around. She needs to realize the most appealing thing about her voice is its tone and ability to evoke feeling. I don't want to hear her straining, shouting, and screaming. I love when Christina shows restraint.
I'm just really worried about her voice and it's state of health. I thought it was on the upswing from a couple of isolated videos I'd seen this year, but man. That show she played yesterday was really a dagger.

That's complete bullshit. Her voice was miles better than the festival in Moracco a few months ago. And while you're welcome to your opinion next time show your receipts.

I didn't watch the whole thing (which is I think in the video below), but she did sound good for the most part. "Fighter" particularly sounded kinda awful, but I think that has more to do with the song than her voice. She sounded perfect on "Change" and "Beautiful" though.

I love Fighter but I don't think I've ever heard her nail it live. I wish she'd play with the production. It is a great song. Definitely in my top 5 Xtina songs but she always loses the momentum live. She just cannot pull off the rock edge that the song calls for.

If so then you haven't heard XTina much in the last 4 or 5 years because that was average to good for her. I thought she sounded pretty good. It's more the fast songs she has a rougher time with.

I always really loved this performance. Very beautiful and looked cinematic.
Random thought: why did B2B start to stall out with success? I know Ain't No Other Man was a pretty big hit and so was Hurt- right? Both two hit singles and then Candyman kind of flopped... but WHY?! That song was epic. Was it the huge wait between Hurt and Candyman? Because I'm looking it up and it seems like there was months between the peak of Hurt and the release of Candyman. To me, B2B should have been MASSIVE. Like AOTY nomination at the Grammys massive.

Like AOTY nomination at the Grammys massive. I'd guess the same thing that always happens with an Xtina release: What she wants vs. what the label wants leading to implosion. Christina wanted a double disc. Label didn't. She got her way, but the label should have insisted she add one more song to count towards double sales. Christina wanted Candyman second. Label didn't. Label got their way, but Christina bad mouthing the choice of Hurt in the press I'm sure didn't lend itself to RCA wanted to push hard on the promo. Great video though. That, and the radio edit for Candyman is one of the most horrific things ever released. I think it all boils down to Christina shutting down when things don't go exactly as she envisioned, and the label shutting down because why promote something the artist doesn't agree on. But even though Candyman wasn't a "hit" in the chart sense, it still had impact and remains a gem in her discography.

Wow... I had no idea B2B had such a messy rollout. It's a shame. This album deserved way better. I see where she was coming from w/ 2x cds, but at the same time I think she could've turn it into a phenomenal standard album w/ little-2-no fillers. I'm not the biggest fan of ballads, but Hurt is one of my absolute favorites. It never gets old for me.

You're mostly right but Christina wanted "Slow Down Baby" not "Candyman" for the second single. She lost and the label got their way with "Hurt". Third time around she won with "Candyman" but the label released "Oh Mother" to Austrialia. Since we're on label choices I'll mention that Christina wanted "Glam" as the first single from Bionic but she lost and was forced to recorded a bunch of tracks including "Not Myself Tonight". the label tested "Woohoo" but ultimately decided on "You Lost Me".

Slow Down Baby? 4real?! That makes it worse... Candyman is actually a gem (still Hurt>>>) SDB not so much. I won't even comment on Glam from Bionic as the lead. Whatever she releases now... I hope label decides what goes when. But I have very little faith in RCA. Anyway... I hope she releases a stellar album Change was a cute appetizer. x))

That show she played yesterday was really a dagger. I've been a Christina stan since the debut days, but I rarely ever watch her live performances, because of her tendency to overdue it with runs and melisma and such. The last live performance I loved from her was "Lift Me Up" into 2010; THAT is the Christina I know and love. She has such a fantastic tone, but it seems even that is hit-or-miss live lately. It's a shame Christina seems so set in her ways vocally, because an album of songs that showcases her tone and emotive abilities would be amazing. I'll continue to support her releases, but it would be refreshing to see Christina adapt her new music to fit her vocal abilties. Her ability to emote is one of her biggest strengths, but she still sings like she needs to *prove* her talent. She's shown she has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to coaching other vocalists (The Voice and Masterclass), so it seems odd she wouldn't appy some of those things to her own career. Adore her, but she's her own worst enemy sometimes.

I swear I distinctly remember in her Rolling Stone stone interview Christina (or Linda) saying Candyman should be 2nd but the label wanted Hurt because "holidays and ballads blah blah blah." EDIT: Here's the quote. It's from Linda: "She's not a player, but she can really explain herself musically," Perry says, adding that Christina's ambition was constantly pushing her. "I don't even know where some of this shit came from. When we were recording 'Candyman,' I was laughing – it's swing music with a hip-hop beat! When that song comes out as the second single, people are going to go, 'What the fuck is this shit?' It's awesome!"

I didn't like "Candyman" at all at the time. It sounds to much like it's from the 50's. The only part I liked was the "hook". After some live performances I didn't mind it and can see why it was performed live but it was to much for me. I would have loved to have seen "Slow Down Baby" or "Understand" as singles.

I have such a soft spot for Mercy on Me & Save Me From Myself. I think that these tunes get totally overlooked.

Linda confirmed she's currently writing for this album and they just recorded a "special" song that she can't "wait for people to hear". Considering she threw shade at Lotus I'm believing this song will be special.

I don't recall exactly but how the songs weren't really her and didn't offer a lot of depth lyrically on the album. See Linda is catty and insecure when she's not on a project with Christina so she went off on a twitter rant.

Christina Aguilera – Telepathy (feat. Nile Rodgers)The Christina track for The Get Down soundtrack! The whole soundtrack is supposed to be 70s disco, funk, hip-hop and R&B inspired so I know I'm about to get my life.

"Beautiful" and "Ain't No Other Man" will be featured in a new PBS mini-series that explores the creation and production of music and its impact on popular culture. Before George Martin's death on March 8th, the legendary producer and "fifth Beatle" aligned with PBS for an eight-part series titled Soundbreaking: Stories From the Cutting Edge of Recorded Music. For the series, which was five years in the making, Martin and his son Giles recruited over 150 artists to share behind-the-scenes stories about the art of recording.
Christina's songs are featured on episode three, titled "The Human Instrument: soundbreaking.com/episodes/episode-three/Trailer here Here
