I'm not sure if I have mentioned this before, but Change is still an awesome song. They dropped the ball with that one. I really love Change and would have been so happy if there was an album full of them. |

^^^^^ I’m not sure what to make of this yet. Her lower register is so rich but I cannot take the shouting. The straining to get the belts out.....I KNOW she must have blown a speaker or two while recording this. Less is more.

Yeah, I'm extremely pleased with how this turned out. It's classic Christina, which we didn't get a TON of on the last album due to how subdued it was vocally for a good chunk of the tracks. I'm actually surprised Disney gave her that much liberty with the melody.
My only gripe with this recording is that it's painfully clear she recorded it in like, 200 sections and parsed everything together. It sounds a little... unnatural at times and frankly, will be impossible for her to re-create live.
However, it's been a minute since she went OFF on a track. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I live for every riff and run. That last belt at the end gave me chills.

Christina singing the song that catapulted her to stardom 22 years ago is nostalgia incarnate. She sounded great then and she still sounds great now.
If Disney took issue with the melismas, it's on them to ask her to do another take. Go off, Xtina. This is your song.

I think she sounds pretty amazing for the whole song. The last 30 seconds or so get a little rough and I’m not sure about that last belted note, but Xtina did her thing and should be proud.
Her voice has definitely recovered a lot from where it was a few years ago.
