Congrats to Christina on the YB video certification. It's not my favorite video of hers, but the campy style works, and it's just colorful and fun.

I think her best videos are from B2B (Candyman, Hurt, and my favorite, Ain't No Other Man).


And Dirrty is classic.


I was listening to "Ain't No Other Man" the other day; it still sounds so fresh and purely "Xtina," even all these years later. The production and vocals are among some of her best ever, IMO.

I went through a period of really loving her videos. Like, Come on Over Baby through The Voice Within were all great videos to me in one way or another. Like, I know Can't Hold us Down won't go down as a great video, but I still loved how ridiculous it was. Voice Within-not much happening, but beautifully shot.
It gets spottier after that, but I did like Hurt and Your Body.

JAZZ FEST producer talks about Christina:

Davis's interest in pop star Christina Aguilera was piqued at blues legend Etta James' funeral in California in January 2012. Davis spoke at the service; Stevie Wonder and Aguilera performed. She sang James's signature "At Last."

"She got through about a verse and a half, and everybody stood up and gave 'amens,'" Davis recalled. "It was like an electric shock went through that place as Christina sang over Etta's casket. That was an all-time moment in my life, and I've been around a lot of moments. This woman is an amazing artist."

Aguilera is managed by music industry legend Irving Azoff, who also manages the Eagles. Davis worked with Azoff to bring the Eagles to Jazz Fest in 2012. That existing relationship helped get Aguilera to Jazz Fest.

I agree, I love that she filmed it at the Pink Motel. It made it feel unique. I've been to that motel before. It has a "no prostitution" sign in the lobby.

Christina is looking incredible lately. Also, she sounded quite good at the "Stand Up To Cancer" event, too.

I know the era is dead, but I do wish we'd gotten to hear her sing more material from Lotus in a live setting.
