My cover of Tightrope! soundcloud.com/pete-esau/tightrope-kelly-clarkson-coverThis isn't me at the performance - my performance was fine except for the FREAKING HIGH NOTES (you and I will fall in time eventually... OR MAYBE WE'LL BOTH DIE TRYING, OOOOOOOOOO) which I totally effed up. So that sucked. But I did them here! This is the version I will share haha. This was earlier in the day recorded on my phone (this song is so hard to sing live in front of an audience, I don't know how she does it). siiiiing. You've got a great voice! Kelly is due some time this week or the next! Crossing fingers that everything goes well for her.

I remember she said when she co judged Idol on February 25th that she was 32.5 pregnant so that means her due date is April 18th just as River was supposed to be due on June 18th 2014 though she arrived six days early on the 12th and Kelly also said her repeat c-section is already planned because she doesn't dilate properly. as for the medley it wasn't live it was prerecorded when she guess judged in February

Kelly, queen of oversharing ![](http://i.imgur.com/2smy76v.gif) Maybe it's because I have a vagina myself but I'm not really bothered by that.

I will never understand Kelly's love of "Walk Away". It's a good song, but not a GREAT song. It was a success, but it wasn't really THAT groundbreaking/out of the ordinary chart-wise. Never Again should have had a place in that medley over WA. Top 10 BB100, plus shows Kelly's diversity and ability as a songwriter/going against the grain. Not to mention MD is the one Kelly album (not counting GH or WIR) that didn't get a "solid place" in that medley. #Justice4NeverAgain #Justice4MyDecember I love Never Again and while I know the politics behind why it was a relative failure (along with the entire album chock full of winners)... it will always blow my mind how it wasn't a huge hit. The video was even good. The whole thing was very Pat Benatar in the best way possible.

^ I sometimes wonder how the era would've been if the label marketed it as her raw, personal, deep, dark album and released it in 2006.
The album is such a stand-out in her discography. There is not ONE other album that has as much emotion.

Or if they had released How I Feel first, followed by Don't Waste Your Time, Never Again, and finally Sober.
I think the problem was that they didn't bridge the gap from Breakaway to MD well enough. She went from releasing polished pop songs to the raw, dark, edginess of Never Again. While I freakin love NA and its video, it was too much all at once.
Adele released Hello not because it was the best on the album IMO because it was a reminder of why people loved her during the 21 era. The true test will be how people receive Send My Love (which will be the opposite of what Kelly did going from poppy to somber)

There is not ONE other album that has as much emotion. It's funny this album is being brought up again - I had a strong desire to listen to it again and threw it up on Spotify yesterday. This album is my jam. I love everything about it - the energy, the emotion, her vocal delivery. My current favorites are Be Still and Haunted. I even went into my iTunes yesterday to find the demo with the strings.

It was like an edgier, darker Since U Been Gone... and not too far off from Hazel Eyes, imo. The production was still fairly polished to me - just a step further into a rock sound. I think the bottom line wasn't the music or the single choices - it was the utter disregard and lack of support from the label. Clive wanted it to fail before it was even released. It was doomed for that reason alone.

It was doomed for that reason alone. I agree that it was sabotaged, most likely at radio... I remember it being #1 on TRL and she had a lot of promo for the single. It did debut at #10 on the Hot 100, can't remember if it hit #1 on iTunes. Like I said, I loved it but I think Kelly was more focused on the music than the chart success. Always wondered how the Dave Aude Radio Remix would have fared had it been released as the lead single instead.

Sometimes it's ok to have a bunch of songs (or an album) not become hits. That MD album for me has remained her most listened to. I think the fact that nothing was played out is part of the reason why.
I actually feel the same way about this last album. Piece By Piece the song is my favorite and I'm secretly glad it didn't end up being a big radio hit. I love that it got attention and that she blew the world away with the power of it. But selfishly I'm also glad it didn't end up getting played out.

Yay finally! Congrats.
I love their taste in second names. That's all I'm gonna say haha
ETA: Remington means 'place on a riverbank' (I'm no native speaker, so sorry if it was obvious or whatever)

River and Remy!!
Too cute. I've also had PBP on nonstop. So far from the album I've only listened to the three singles and want to finally give the whole thing a listen... Any standout tracks or favorites from PBP you guys recommend?

congrats to them and by the way her great great grandfather was in the Civil war but they could've named the baby after the classic detective show Remington Steel and not the gun

Any standout tracks or favorites from PBP you guys recommend? Definitely "Someone"! Her voice is so clear and crisp on that record; I truly believe it's one of her best vocal performances in studio.

^Watching that performance reminds me of how much Kelly's voice has improved over the years. I totally agree! She sounded amazing then, but her voice is unbelievable now. This has been mentioned here already, but her voice now has that "lived-in" quality that really allows her to channel even more authenticity to her music than she could before.

^^ that performance was awesome to see... Kelly is so beautiful but watching that she was smoking hot.. She was like the biggest thing that era.. and I love how she has maintained her success with integrity. I would love if she came back hitting next era, like Stronger style. Where the music and image lined up and she had that drive. I know family comes first for her as it should but I love seeing Kelly giving it her all if that makes sense (not that she doesn't but just the whole package with promo and good music and stuff)

If Piece by Piece makes the Top 10 on the official update on Sunday, this will be Kelly's 14th Top 10 on HAC. :)

Which is great because Taylor just tied her for 2nd most HAC Top 10s last week when "New Romantics" entered, and now Kelly has distanced herself :) Maroon 5 has the most with 18.
