Bummed that she couldn't finish out the US leg of the tour (even if she is able to do some of her later dates, those cancelled ones aren't going to be rescheduled in this go 'round) but it's totally understandable. She made it pretty far into the tour without a major break or illness. The pregnant probably adds some strain to her singing. I'd say the non-NA dates are in major jeopardy, but will hinge on how she recovers. Wait why were there two shows in Vienna, VA? Both of them were completely sold out when I looked at them a couple of months ago, so I guess there's just a really strong demand for her in that area (but I wish she'd stop booking Fairfax/Vienna and just do a proper DC venue one time). I suppose it was for the best that I wasn't able to entertain the idea of going up there this weekend for one of them.

That was kind of weird. I haven't been in this thread in weeks but I was just reading how great she has been sounding and then scroll on down to see that she has cancelled some shows to let her voice rest. Maybe the voice issue wasn't vocal strain? Anyway, sounds like the tour has gone well and she got some nice PR with that arrangement with Entertainment Weekly to promote her covers on-line and now in their magazine. Again, extra PR work by someone in Kelly's camp.

I expected the cancellation so I'm not surprised. Just glad I didn't book anything.
A few throwbacks:
Full Ellen 2015 interview.. starts at ~ 14:34.. really funny!
Actual Breakaway Tour concert videos by the YouTube user " nataliemhyde "
^ Apart from this cover I've never heard before, there are 16 more videos from that concert. The quality is okay.. compared to other videos from the era

Not surprised but I was hoping she'd be able to finish the US leg at the very least. I love kelly but I wish she would have waited to get pregnant when her touring commitments were done or almost done. This sucks not just for her fans but to those that she employs as well as her opening acts.

I'm thinking the European leg will be nixed [...] Not sure about the Canada leg.You shut your face. #ihaveticketsfortwooftheseshowsincludingthirdrowseatsforoneofthem #icanonlytoleratepositivethoughts Also: the show two days ago may have been her most emotional yet. "Pregnancy is a bitch!" How can you not love her? Jesusssss she almost had me in tears. Gosh the pain she went through must have been gut wrenching. :'( But she got through it and is stronger than ever. She deserves all the happiness! Now that insensitive ass audience. Kidding but really it would have been incredible if they had sang the entire third chorus for her specifically those lines about her child! I was singing along for her on my iPad though.

I've been obsessed with Foxes's "Better Love" since it came out, and think it would have been perfect for a Kelly pop album. It's right up her alley thematically, and sounds organic but modern. :'(

So I guess this era is officially over. I doubt that she'll tour anymore this year but I'll be pleasantly surprised if she does.

I just hope they don't wait too long to make an announcement. I know they're probably waiting to see how her health is, but it sucks having tickets and not knowing if we'll get to use them!

I'm gonna be optimistic and say that she'll be ok for the rest of the dates. I think cancelling the remainder of the U.S. dates was probably an effort to rest up and be ready for Canada & UK rather than a precursor of more cancellations to come. We shall see...

The weather here in South Florida is HORRIBLE right now, heavy rainstorms today. Would have been an issue if the shows went on I'm sure.

I think the era is over too. I don't think we'll get a third single

Piece by piece should have been the second single.

Changing the subject. Predictions on Kelly's next career move? When can we expect to hear news of her new record contract? Her next album--2016 release? 2017?

It sounds like that country album is still in the pipeline, so she'll probably release that summer/fall 2016. Although I'm skeptical that would go anywhere, and I'd much rather see her release an R&B album or do a Broadway stint.

I really don't see a country album ever actually happening (that might just be wishful thinking)

She's released multiple solo country singles that have gone nowhere. Time to give that country dream up. Im all for the R&B album that she's hinted at and I'm even more on board with her conquering Broadway.

Honestly, I don't think Kelly is going to have a huge era ever again because she has a kid now and seems less driven musically and more interested in her family, which I can understand, especially after being so active in the industry for over a decade. At this point she will probably do what she wants and not give a fuck about radio hits.

I know why I don't like PXP It's not that the album is bad but it's more that it hurts me too much (still)

This is nice. Courtesy bixblitz at the KCE... www.breatheheavy.com/a-candid-convo-with-matthew-koma-breatheheavy-exclusive/A Candid Convo With Matthew Koma: BreatheHeavy Exclusive Anyone in particular you’ve worked with there that sticks out in your mind? I’ve been really fortunate to work with people all over the map. For different reasons, everybody has kind of taken a place in my musical heart. To be working with someone like Britney Spears is such a cool thing because when you work on a song with her and you hear her sing, you get to create that time we all sort of lived in. Being a part of that creative process and hear your product back is really, really neat. Very similar to dealing with Kelly Clarkson. She recorded a song of mine called “Someone,” and to hear her take on something that I wrote in my freaking bedroom is mind blowing. It’s really humbling and really inspiring. Honestly, because it’s so different with each artist, it’s hard to necessarily pick a favorite You mentioned Kelly Clarkson. What’s your mindset going into a session with her? With her it’s crazy to think we still have not met yet. We’ve spoken a little bit but the song she had heard of mine… she loved it and related to the lyric. I think it was one the first songs she actually recorded for the new album [Piece By Piece] right after she gave birth which is wild in itself. It’s one of those things where you work on a song and you have a vision of what it is or what it could be, but when someone like Kelly, who has such an incredible instrument as her voice, it just brings a whole ‘nother dimension and brings it to a whole other level. There aren’t that many incredible singers out there you know? Being a great artist doesn’t necessarily equate to being a great singer, and she’s one of those few examples of somebody who’s just such a gift of a voice. To hear her sing lyrics and melodies that you bring in, it just puts it on steroids. It’s an amazing feeling as a writer. You want somebody to deliver it with that kind of care – the same way you put care into the words of the music – with her it creates a very humbling thing to hear that song for the first time – when I heard her version of it, because it’s very few and far between you don’t have any comments… the first time I heard it I’m like ‘OK, great.’

She needs to work with Matthew Koma again. Lyrically, 'Someone' is probably the best song on the album (tied with PBP).

Has she performed "Someone" live at all? Her tone and interpretation are so gorgeous on it.

Assuming she gets the terms she wants, I need Kelly to re-sign with RCA asap so they can start planning their rollout for "Winter Dreams" this Christmas, as well as the promotion necessary to continue "Underneath The Tree"'s path toward holiday-classic status.
And planning the second annual Miracle On Broadway concert for this December. With Carrie Underwood. Adele. P!nk. Bruno Mars. Bono. Alanis Morissette. And Mariah Carey.

Do we think the Miracle on Broadway concert will happen this year with Kelly being as pregnant as she is? If it does, I can't imagine she'd perform as much as she did last year (or at all).

I would be really surprised if it did, because she played a show at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville earlier this month already. Maybe if they did a smaller venue like the Ryman, then it could work maybe.
