I actually like the remix better than the original, and Trey's voice has more of vocoder effect on it than auto-tune. I don't like this as much as "#Beautiful" and "The Art of Letting Go" but this is decent.

POPDUST: Mariah Carey doesn’t shy away from syrupy pop, and on her new single “You’re Mine (Eternal),” the diva goes beyond what we’ve come to expect from her.
The track, producer by Rodney Jerkins, is hypnotic, dripping with “We Belong Together” greatness. It’s the perfectly crafted Valentine’s Day treat — yes, those candy hearts are our favorites, too. Her upcoming album The Art Of Letting Go is expected May 6, after a series of setbacks last year.
“I can’t seem to live without your love,” she coos. “Suffocating here by myself, dying for your touch.” The music video is set to premiere tonight (Feb. 12) on MTV at 7:50 p.m. EST

I think I prefer the production and tempo on the remix. But could have gone without Trey.

Personally, I like #B and TAOLG more, but this song has all the right elements for radio. Let's see if radio agrees.

As I was expecting, she put out a great song that'll be easily become a fan favorite (and even win back some fans, hi) but won't exactly put her back on the radio map. I'm fine with that though; for so long there's been a wish for her to say "fuck the charts" and just make good music. She did. Lea Michele is releasing a song called "You're Mine" tomorrow. Maybe that's the reason? Who is she and why does she matter? None of her songs have done anything. Not be that *that* guy because Idk who she is either, but I saw "You're Mine" at #11 on iTunes and then realized it wasn't Mimi.

I'm fine with that though; for so long there's been a wish for her to say "f**k the charts" and just make good music. She did. Who is she and why does she matter? None of her songs have done anything. Not be that *that* guy because Idk who she is either, but I saw "You're Mine" at #11 on iTunes and then realized it wasn't Mimi. That's mainly due to pre-orders and it was released yesterday. By tonight it will be all the way down to the 50s.

I can see a similarity or 2. But, it's reminiscent of something she did several years before "We Belong Together".

I don't like it. It sounds like one of those 'hook' ideas one hears played over and over in the studio when people are about to write a song.

I prefer the remix, but overall I like both: great production, her voice sounds so smooth and sweet and the fact that it does remind me of WBT makes it even better! I don't love any version right now but I can see them growing on me immensely :)

I believe this has outpeaked "Triumphant" and "The Art of Letting Go" on iTunes already.

and sadly, that's all to it I hope I am wrong and I will like it eventually, but... when it comes to remixes, she needs to go back and do desert storm ones

I think #Beautiful peaked at #4 on iTunes. It would be great to see this outpeak it.

Moving up fast on iTunes. 11. Mariah Carey - You're Mine (Eternal) 29. Mariah Carey - You're Mine (Eternal) [feat. Trey Songz] [Remix] YES! Almost Top 10 on iTunes. This definitely has outpeaked the last 2 singles due to the remix being added into the mix as well.

I'll be really impressed if it can outsell "#Beautiful" at its peak.

Wait till the 106&Park interview and video release. The remix might fly into the Top 10 as well.

Wait till the 106&Park interview and video release. The remix might fly into the Top 10 as well. As much as we hate Billboard's changes to the R&B/Hip-Hop chart, it helps Mimi add to her Top 10 tally there since she's one of the few R&B acts who can really move singles.

Sounds quite plain. The remix is a bit better, but the song is rather disappointing. Hopefully she'll have stronger tracks on the album.

I would say if you were going to compare this to anything in her catalog I would say this sounds like a cross between "Touch My Body" and has "Underneath the Stars".

This is an underwhelming melange. It's as if she took a sleeping pill while listening to Slipping Away and decided to refashion it into boring drivel that goes nowhere, incorporating the piano loop from Like You'll Never See Me Again, and the artificially enhanced final note from We Belong Together.
