I love 'Beautiful Liar'. It was the first Beyoncé song I ever bothered downloading; from Limewire, even! Good times, although I kept getting mad when all the versions turned out to be the demo without Shakira.

Caliente! Lol at Rihanna's name being so tiny on the cover though. I love the clever title but Shakira has always had weird ass titles. "Laundry Service"??? "Oral Fixation"?? This is nothing new. ??? Elvis had a #1 country song titled "I Forgot to Remember to Forget" - so this is hardly clever, weird or original. Just because someone else did it makes this no less weird. And really, nothing is TRULY that original anyway. That aside, it's just a title. No need to get all fussy about it.

Not surprising, but this will impact pop immediately next week, according to FMQB.

Shakira looked better on literally every episode of The Voice than that cover, but whatever. Ready to hear this.

Fantastic cover. If the song has the same level of hotness, it's a surefire #1.

Ppl always complain about XTINA not being able to score a solo hit in years and has to depend on collabos...couldn't the same be said for Shakira ? the last big hit she had in North America was Beautiful Liar. .. ..seems like she can't score a big lead hit single on her own anymore.... Beyonce..Gaga..Miley...Katy none of them released lead singles with support acts on it because they are confident enough to know their music will sell...unfortunately Shakira seems to know well enough her appeal in the U.S has dimished..

The difference is Shakira is a HUGE mega star around the world and yes, it may be her US success has not been too great, but it does not take away from the fact that worldwide she had like 4 of the Top 20 best selling singles of the decade. And also, Shaki's music is of much greater quality than Christina's so maybe no one feels the need to throw too much shade at her. By the way, "She Wolf" was #11 on pop radio so what's your point? That was her last english album and it was a solo lead single.

Shakira music is more quality than Christina's body of work ? ha laughable lol and Keeps Getting Better peaked at that same position and ppl still consider it a flop so yea she wolf was one too especially for a lead single... and my point is i really hope this desperate ploy to generate interest and sales work out in her favor. and 4 best selling singles of the decade and only one of them went # 1 in the U.S ...big accomplishment there.... Hips Don't Lie and Whenever are her two big hits so plz dont say Wacka Wacka is one of those 4 ur referring to lolllllllllll

'She Wolf' was far from a flop, sorry. I don't know how people feel about 'Keeps Gettin' Better' but I don't consider that a flop either. Why do you keep harping on about the US? You are aware there are hundreds of other countries, yes? And what do you mean "big accomplishment there"? LOL. Yes that's exactly right, it is a great accomplishment. I believe they were 'Underneath Your Clothes', 'Whenever, Wherever", "Hips Don't Lie" and probably "Waka Waka" but I don't recall exactly. Why should Waka be excluded? Because it wasn't a big hit here? It was a MASSIVE hit all over the world, not her fault US is a flop.

You are aware there is a reason why all foreign artist hope to make it big in the U.S right.. ? u are aware sales in the U.S are far greater than all the other countries ..so it indeed important to harping on about the U.S because those hundreds of other countries u are referring to only sells 100 albums per week...GET YOUR LIFE !!!

Really? Thanks for that information. Even with all the other countries being insignificant peasants and only getting Shakira a "100 albums per week", her sales are at 70 mil. Xtina, whom is an AMERICAN artist that's nearly only promoted to the US (the biggest sales market in the world) sits at 50 mil. Also, Underneath Your Clothes was a big hit. People know that song regardless of a #1 peak or not. Shakira has only put out 3 English albums out of her 9 releases and they are YEARS apart with only a couple songs being sent to US radio each era. The success she does achieve is remarkable, and she had a bigger (solo) hit with She Wolf than Christina has been able to secure in almost a decade. I know it's hard with Braveheart being pushed back again, but don't come in and start double-posting drama in the Shakira thread. It's unnecessary.

People need to let go of their xenophobia. While the US is a large market for music it's not the only market for music. There are many megastars that enjoy worldwide popularity that do not chart here. It's pretty silly to act like the US is the only place that counts. If someone sells 70 million albums they're not flopping.
