She said the album has kind of a "moody" feel to it.
I would really love if she did more songs along the lines of "Don't Let Me Get Away" or "I Need A U." Those might be my favorite songs in her catalogue.

Yes. Still salty that she went indie. There is still potential there for a major label.

Yes. Still salty that she went indie. There is still potential there for a major label. She might become eOne's most successful R&B artist yet. Hope she has a solid team of her own in place.

She's been making great moves. She has a hustler's mentality and it has been paying off tremendously for her.

"Single Ladies" is getting a 4th season on CentricTV (after being cancelled by VH1 earlier this year). Anyone know if LeToya is still attached to the series?

MN Exclusive: LeToya Luckett Talks “Single Ladies” Cancellation And Return And Folks Picking On Her BFF, Michelle WilliamsApril 15, 2014 ‐ By Victoria Uwumarogie Luckett and Tom Felton in “From The Rough” – Freestyle Releasing It’s always fun to talk to LeToya Luckett, and we chatted with the multi-talented beauty as she prepares for the release of her new film, From The Rough, with Taraji P. Henson and the late Michael Clarke Duncan. The film, which actually began production in 2010, will finally be released on April 25 after those behind it figured out things with distribution. But aside from getting the 411 on her new movie, which is a true story inspired by Cassandra Turner, the first female coach of a NCAA Division I men’s golf team, we talked about Luckett being a Scandal-head (aka, a Gladiator), her excitement about the return of Single Ladies and what she thinks about folks on Twitter picking on her good friend, Michelle Williams. About On The Rough:“It’s a phenomenal movie, and I’m so glad that it’s finally hitting theaters. I play a character by the name of Stacey, who is the love interest of Tom Felton’s character. I’m pretty sure you know him from Harry Potter. I think a lot of people, from his character in Harry Potter [Draco Malfoy], expect him to be this mean guy, but he’s so, so so sweet. But Tom is also one of the members of the golf team and Taraji P. Henson, she coaches the team. Basically, she was at this predominately African-American college and they decide to do a golf team, but they don’t want to put a large budget towards putting a team together and getting the players together. So she has to go international with it. So she goes to Australia, Japan, all over the world to pick her players. London, which is where she gets Tom’s character, and it just shows her struggle with developing the team. And then they were coming into this predominately black college, being from all over the world, and you know how we get down [laughs]. It’s a fun story, but it definitely sends you on this emotional roller coaster.” Working With The Late Michael Clarke Duncan:“He was like that uncle that you always wish you had. I learned a lot from watching him. He was so professional and so awesome at his craft. He was just an amazing spirit. And he would always be like, ‘You ever need anything, I got your back.’ Even though he had this huge presence, he had this soft teddy bear spirit. He was great to work with.” Her Time Playing Felicia Price On “Single Ladies”:“A lot of people think I’m this mean lady. I have people who come up to me, who didn’t know me as LeToya, and will be like, ‘Oh my God, how are you Miss Felicia? I don’t want to bother you, but can I get a picture?’ [laughs]. But it was such a great experience to play something so far from my personality.” On Being Sad About The Show’s Cancellation And Happy About Its Return:“Of course I was, especially since it had this huge following that I wasn’t even aware of. But they [fans] are serious about their Single Ladies. I’m glad to know, especially for the fans of the show, that it is coming back, moreso for them than for any of us. I’m just glad that they started a petition and all kinds of stuff. It’s because of them that it’s coming back. It’s very nice to see people passionate about something [laughs]. That’s what excited me. Got me all riled up like “YEAH!” [laughs] It’s beautiful for them, that they get to have their show back. Folks were going off for that show, honey.” If She’ll Be Back Next Season:“We shall see. I think that she was such a big personality on this season and I think that everybody loved to hate her. I’m pretty sure they’ll want to see what Felicia is up to for next season.” Being A Scandal Lover:“I still love it! I think they’ve done a wonderful job, especially with working around Kerry’s ‘wonderful moment’ that she has coming up soon if you know what I mean [laughs]. I’m happy with what they did with that, and how they’re kind of making the storyline work around other characters. They just have all these wow moments with the other characters and it’s giving them their time to shine. Instead of just being based on one thing or one storyline, and not to say that it has been like that, but I just love how it’s really helping to develop the other characters as well.” What She Thinks Of People Picking On Her Friend, Michelle Williams, On Twitter:“People are…[breathes deeply], especially in social media now…I didn’t know about the hashtag, but now I do and I’m like, ‘Wow. Gross.’ People have to realize that these are people’s feelings and Michelle is such a beautiful person. When people create stuff like that about other people, I kind of want to come and sit on somebody else’s desk while they’re at work and point out things about them. Or come to their front door and just say nasty things. I don’t understand how people think that’s okay. Do unto others as you want done to yourself. This is somebody’s daughter. This is somebody’s sister. You don’t do that to people. That’s not nice. You wouldn’t want it done to yourself. You don’t want people coming out poking and picking at your insecurities and your flaws. And I’m pretty sure half of the world wishes they could be in Destiny’s Child and have had the experiences that she had. Of course, if she was the one answering the question, she would be like, ‘Girl, I don’t care.’ But as her friend, I’m like ‘Uh uh, don’t you do it. Don’t you come for her.’ So I just wish some people would really take time before they click on that comment and start rambling about someone they do not know. Think about how you would feel if someone did that to you. And I think with social media, people feel like they can come right to your front door and spit in your face at times. I don’t think the Twitters of the world, Facebooks of the world, and Instagrams of the world were created for such disgusting moments like that. And I think we as people are turning it into that, and that’s not cool.” LeToya always speaks the truth! Check out From The Rough when it hits theaters on April 25!

Her Source Exclusive: Letoya Luckett Talks New Film ‘From the Rough’Shaina411 | April 23, 2014 “From The Rough” hits theaters this Friday, April 23. “From the Rough” is an inspirational movie based on the true story of Catana Starks and her struggle to create a successful men’s golf team at a predominantly African American university. This film boasts an all star cast including Taraji P. Henson as ‘Catana’, Michael Clark Duncan, Tom Felton and LeToya Luckett. The plot is filled with powerful messages and woman in empowering roles. Aside from the ambitious ‘Catana’ one of the girls she coached ‘Stacey’ played by LeToya Luckett is a star swimmer and soon to be doctor. In the film ’Catana Starks’ brings together a group of international misfits and creates a winning men’s college golf team. Q: What was your experience like working on the film?It was a lot of fun. A learning experience, especially working around big players in the game like Taraji P. Henson and Michael Clark Duncan. I learned so much especially with Taraji. I’ve always admired her not only as an actress but as a person. The way she carries herself, so I was blessed with the opportunity to share a screen with her and be able to sit back and just learn honey. And watch her jump into a character, I don’t care what jokes were played on the scene I mean right before they yelled “action” she’d have her fun but when it came down to film and get in to that character she jumped right in to it. Q: Your role as Stacey is similar to your role as Felicia in that they are both hardworking woman determined to be successful in life. Do you feel you’re drawn to roles where you are an ambitious female character? You know I like that. Felicia was a lot of fun. I did admire her confidence, I love that she is a woman of power she carries herself very well and she deserves a certain kind of respect. Now she is cold blooded and she’s a beast. But then again when you have bosses like that or people in your life that really push you … you can only grow. So I think yes, I might be attracted to playing a certain type of girl. A girl that is confident but at the same time like “The Preachers Kid” I played a girl that had to find her confidence cause she didn’t know who she was. She was in those growing stages of really becoming a woman. So I just love telling the story of women, you know different things we go through in life our challenges, our ups, our downs. But the beauty of a woman you know, and how we can be fifteen million things at one time; a momma, a boss, a wife, a sister, a nurse, a cook anything! Q: Your character Stacey was in an interracial relationship with Tom Felton, who played Edward in the film. What did you think that meant to the message of the film? You know what; I think that it is with this film period because it has such an international reach. You know every player on the team was from a different country. And I think that it just helped to remove those color lines. Even with me and Tom’s relationship in the film, you saw past that. You got to see the heart of this person, the personality and you realize hey we’re all human beings. Regardless of the color of our skin, where we might be from, we’re all human and we go through different things and we’re all trying to be better, and we all have a different journey. I love movies like that cause they just break the barriers down. Q: What do you think your viewers will take from watching the film?To be inspired. Especially since this is a true story I think that people will definitely be inspired by watching what this woman had to go through on a daily basis. And just developing the team and how she did not have the support she truly deserved but at the same time was able to accomplish so much with so little. I think it also goes to show whatever you put your mind and your heart to, whatever your mind believes and conceives it can come to light, it can happen. So I hope that people are able to learn and grow from that and just walk away knowing that they can do whatever they set out to do. Q: Do you have any music updates? You’ll find a fun little snippet of a song called “Don’t Make Me Wait” you can find that on iTunes, so look out for that, well it’s out right now. And also I am putting out my album this year, I’m in the process of picking out a single so yeah. I am also part of a TV series on HBO called “Ballers” which is Mark Wahlberg’s new project starring Dwayne Johnson and we start shooting that in the fall. Q: Is there anything brewing with Felicia on “Single Ladies”?We just got picked up by Centric so we will see. I’m excited to see. Q: Do you have any advice for aspiring young women who want to be where you are in life or go where you’ve been in life?Yeah sure, absolutely. I say be you, stop trying to be other people and just live out your own story. I love that my journey is different from everyone else’s. I would say stay true to yourself, love yourself; self love is very important don’t go looking for other people to validate you. I have a very close relationship with god, so I stay prayed up. I stay around people who help lift me up instead of bring me down. Motivators, people can that help to prove me. So I’m very very very conscience of who I let in to my circle. So just watch your surroundings, love yourself, love god and just do you honey. Q: Any final thoughts about the film that you would like to share?Make sure you go out and support it. It’s not a lot of times that you know that we get the opportunities to share the amazing story of people like Catana Starks. I wouldn’t have known about Catana Starks and everything that she did had Pierre Bagley and some of the other people involved hadn’t gone out and made this story come to life and put it into theaters. I love being a part of projects like this. People out there every single day especially in the urban community doing their thing and I think there stories deserve to be told.

LeToya Luckett's Destiny Includes Serious Acting RolesBy Billy Johnson, Jr. April 23, 2014 1:46 PM LeToya Luckett's acting gigs are close to outnumbering her music credits. The original member of Destiny's Child co-stars in "From the Rough," a movie about Dr. Catana Starks, who was both the first woman and the first African-American woman to coach a men's college golf team. In the film, which opens on Friday and also stars Taraij Henson and the late Michael Clarke Duncan, Luckett portrays Stacey, a college student dating a player on Coach Starks' team. Outside of acting, she hasn't forgotten about music. In February, she released her first single in six years. Yahoo Music: Michael Clarke Duncan is in "From the Rough." His character feels like an angel. What is your take?LeToya Luckett: Wow. That touches my heart because when you think about it he was an angel figure in this film. He was always uplifting Taraji's character [Coach Sparks]. He was just great. I think people are going to love seeing him in this character because it’s a different side for him. He was funny. It was a joy to work with him. How do you relate to your character, Stacey, who is a swimmer and pre-med student? There was a shyness. Stacey's always been very confident in her swimming and that side of things and keeping her grades up, and this is her first time falling in love. One thing that I admired about her is she kinda went for what she wanted. She wasn't scared to approach [Eddie]. With me, I’m a shy girl all day long. I couldn't approach a man. Did you foresee all these opportunities in film and TV coming your way?No. I never set out to be an actress. I went on my first audition not knowing all that I needed to know about the acting world or audition process, but ended up getting cast for my first movie role, 'Preacher's Kid.' I ended up getting cast for the lead role, and had to carry a movie on my first thing out the gate. I didn't have time to be terrified and shaking at the boots. You just wrapped "Single Ladies," executive produced by Queen Latifah. What was it like to work with her?Awesome. She told me, 'I'm so proud of you. You did that role, girl.' It's just so awesome when someone that you admired for so long appreciates your work. On the new Mark Wahlberg-produced HBO series "Ballers" with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, you play the widow of a ball player who was killed in a car accident. How emotional is the role?It gets pretty intense because I'm having to suppress a lot of my emotions with his passing. But I have some anger going on. I'm sad. I've been left with a kid that I'm responsible for that we were supposed to raise. How would you describe your new song "Don't Make Me Wait"?New modernized R&B. It is fun, sexy R&B. Very different for me. Of course, I've grown a lot as a woman since the last time I put out an album. So I'm going to be talking about my experiences with love, and the ins and outs and ups and downs of it. What's the meaning behind the title of the album "Until Then"?"Until Then" is about being in waiting, but just being happy and living in the moment at the same time. We set these goals, and we have all these things that we want to accomplish in life. Instead of focusing on the wait and how long it takes, live your life in the meantime and until then be happy with who you are. When you left Destiny's Child after the release of the second album, did you think your career was over?I didn't know where God was going to lead me. I did not know I was going to be a solo artist. I wasn't looking forward to it, especially after being in a group for so long. So I kinda ran from that. I've not always been confident. It's been some storms along the way, but they've just have helped me to become who I am. I was happily surprised to see you in Destiny's Child members Michelle Williams's music video for "If We Had Your Eyes" last year. What was your reaction when she asked you to be in the video? There was no hesitation whatever. That's my sister. I love her to death. In any way that I can be a part of something she's doing, I'll do it. She's such a great person. She's a sweetheart. She has a love for God as I do. I felt especially with the message of that song. It would be an honor to be a part of something like that. And hopefully it would reach the eyes and ears of some woman or even some man and inspire and help get them through a situation.

LeToya Luckett Cast For VH1's Drumline: A New BeatLeToya Luckett has another major role to work on this year. Following "Single Ladies" and the upcoming series "Ballers," Luckett has booked a role in the upcoming Drumline follow up "Drumline: A New Beat." Slated to air on VH1, with Nick Cannon as executive producer, the movie will include a number of new faces and a few memorable faces from the original. "Drumline: A New Beat" will capture the sound and spirit of the first film while welcoming a whole new class to the Atlanta A & T drumline. The story follows Danielle (Dani) Bolton, an upper class Brooklyn girl who defies her parents in order to attend Atlanta A & T so she can join - and revitalize - their once-prominent drumline. Dani's quest to become the first female section leader of the drumline in the school's history will be hampered by upperclassmen (including her cousin, Tyree), her feelings for fellow band mate and rival, Jayven, and the school's crosstown competitors," reports VH1. Leonard Roberts will return to his Drumline roots as Sean Taylor, a charismatic and determined new Band Director looking to make his mark at his alma mater while navigating the ghosts of his past. Letoya Luckett joins the cast as Dr. Nia Phillips, the beautiful, intelligent, and determined dean at Atlanta A&T with former romantic ties to Sean. Her support of Sean's return to lead A&T's band proves to be difficult as the Panthers take on a rival band led by Dr. Phillips' ex-husband, and Sean's brother, Kevin Taylor. "Drumline: A New Beat" is set to premiere Fall 2014 on VH1.

I don't see why another major wouldn't take a chance on her. Even if it were a 360 she'd still be ok since she has the movies going on
