Random Video Of The Day:
Artist: Dierks Bentley Single: "Lot Of Leaving Left To Do" Writers: Deric Ruttan, Brett Beavers, Dierks Bentley Album: Modern Day Drifter Label: Capitol Nashville Video Director: Sam Erickson Year Released: January 11th, 2005 Radio And Records Peak: #2 Billboard Peak: #3
"Lot Of Leavin" Left To Do" was the lead single from Dierks Bentley's Modern Day Drifter album in 2005. The song was co-written by longtime friends and songwriter Deic Ruttan and Brett Beavers. Ruttan is a singer/songwriter from Canada. He has made 4 studio albums and has many songwriting credits including "What Was I Thinkin'" by Dierks, "Promise Broken" by Gary Allan, "Guys Like Me" and "Hell On The Heart" by Eric Church, and "Hold My Beer" by fellow Canadian artist Aaron Pritchett. The following singles from the album were "Come A Little Closer" (#1), and "Settle For A Slowdown" (#1).
This was one of the three songs I was upset never got to #1 because of a song at the top blocking it. The others were both "Baby Girl" and "Something More" by Sugarland. Craig Morgan's "That's What I Love About Sunday" blocked "Baby Girl" and "As Good As I Once Was" blocked "Something More. Both songs most weeks had enough points to get to #1, but just had bad timing. Dierks' song was a #2 peak on R&R. That was because label mate Keith Urban and his song "Making Memories Of Us" was enjoying a lengthy stay at #1. It didn't help the fact that I didn't like Keith's song. "Lot Of Leavin' Left To Do" is probably my second favorite Dierks song behind "Long Trip Alone".
Week Ending: 6/10/2005
1. Keith Urban - Making Memories Of Us (Capitol) 2. Dierks Bentley - Lot Of Leavin' Left To Do (Capitol) 3. Rascal Flatts - Fast Cars And Freedom (Lyric Street) 4. George Strait - You'll Be There (MCA) 5. Sugarland - Something More (Mercury) 6. Kenny Chesney - Keg In The Closet (BNA) 7. Trace Adkins - Songs About Me (Capitol) 8. Toby Keith - As Good As I Once Was (DreamWorks) 9. Faith Hill - Mississippi Girl (Warner Bros.) 10. Darryl Worley - If Something Should Happen (DreamWorks)

Oh, the curls. This is my JAM. I remember the first time I heard it. I had just gotten back from Phoenix visiting my family, and Michael picked me up at the airport and pressed play on a CD - and this started playing. I was like, "OHMYGOD NEW DIERKS MUSIC!!!!" It was awesome. (So you see, the love of Dierks goes alllll the way back.)

Random Single Of The Day:Artist: Blue County Single: "I Get To" Album: Unreleased Sophomore Album Label: Curb Year Released: November 13th, 2006 Mediabase Peak: #48 Billboard Peak: #51 Blue County was a Curb recording duo that consisted of Aaron Benward and Scott Reeves. Their only top 20 hit was their debut "Good Little Girls" (#11) in 2003. They also charted with "That's Cool" (#24), "Nothin' But Cowboy Boots" (#38), and "That Summer Song" (#44). All four were from their self-titles debut album. "That Summer Song" peaked at #44 on R&R, and only #53 on Billboard. They were supposed to release a second album in late 2006 which was put on hold after the disappointment of "Firecrackers And Ferris Wheels", which never charted. Then "I Get To" was released in November of 2006, but only managed a peak of #48 and was only added on 30 total stations. Blue County would leave Curb in 2007 (I know, surprising isn't it ) Blue County had some great singles with "I Get To", "That Summer Song", and "Fiercrackers And Ferris Wheels" being my favorites. "That's Cool" was fantastic as well. Such a shame that "Firecrackers And Ferris Wheels" bombed so badly. After that, "I Get To" never really stood much of a chance, especially with Curb servicing it. Week Ending: 1/26/200740. Gretchen Wilson - Come To Bed 41. Steve Holy - Come On Rain 42. Alison Krauss with John Waite - Missing You 43. John Mellancamp - Our Country 44. Random Single Of The Day:
Artist: Eric Church Single: "His Kind Of Money (My Kind Of Love)" Writers: Casey Beathard, Shane Minor, Eric Church Album: Caldwell County (EP), Carolina (Extended Best Buy version) Label: Capitol Nashville Year Released: April 14th, 2008 Mediabase Peak: #41 Billboard Peak: #46
"His Kind Of Money (My Kind Of Love)" was supposed to be Eric Church's lead single for his sophomore album. The song was written by Eric along with Casey Beathard, and Shane Minor. Beathard is widely regarded as one of the best and most well credited songwriters in Nashville. Some of his credits include "Don't Blink" and "No Shoes, No Shirts, No Problems" by Kenny Chesney, "Find Out Who Your Friends Are" by Tracy Lawrence, "Yee Haw" by Jake Owen, "The Love Song" by Jeff Bates, "Ten Rounds With Jose Cuervo" by Tracy Byrd, and "Walk A Little Straighter" by Billy Currington. Shane Minor was a recording artist for Mercury Nashville who charted two top 30 singles in 1999/2000 with "Slave To The Habit" (#20) and "Ordinary Love" (#24). He has since been a accomplished songwriter who's credits include "Brand New Girlfriend" by Steve Holy, "International Harvester" by Craig Morgan, "You're In My Head" by Brian McComas, "Fall" by Clay Walker, "Keep In Mind" by LoCash Cowboys, "Live A Little" by Kenny Chesney, and "Close Your Eyes" by Parmalee.
Unfortunately "His Kind Of Money" only peaked at #41 and Eric's album would be put off til 2009 with the success of his next release "Love Your Love The Most". The song was available on Best Buy copies of Carolina as well as the digital EP Caldwell County. Ever since "His Kind Of Money" flopped, Eric's career as been nothin' but upwards since then. He would later switch to EMI nashville from parent label Capitol in 2010. Her was the Mediabase chart the week that "His Kind Of Money (My Kind Of Love)" peaked the first week of July in 2008.

Random Videos Of The Day:
Artist: Shania Twain Single: "No One Needs To Know" Writers: Mutt Lange, Shania Twain Album: The Woman In Me Label: Mercury Nashville Video Director: Steven Goldmann Year Released: May 15th. 1996 Billboard Peak: #1
Artist: Shania Twain Single: "Love Gets Me Every Time" Writers: Mutt Lange, Shania Twain Album: Come On Over Label: Mercury Nashville Video Director: Timothy White Year Released: September 23rd, 1997 Billboard Peak: #1
"No One Needs To Know" was the 6th single from Shania Twain's The Woman In Me album. It was her fourth #1 from the album as well, as it followed "Any Man Of Mine", "You Win My Love", and "(If You're Not In It For Love) I'm Outta Here". The song and video was involved with the blockbuster movie Twister. There were two videos of the song. This one is just Shania and her band performing the song while a oncoming tornado approaching. The other version includes scenes from the movie. This would be Shania's final hit record from The Woman In Me.
"Love Gets Me Every Time" was the lead single from Shania Twain's album Come On Over. The album is still the most successful album sales wise in country music history, as it has sold over 40 million copies worldwide. The album is the second most selling album in North America since the introduction of the Nielsen Soundscan era. "Love Gets Me Every Time" would be the first of 11 singles from the album. There were two more #1's from Come On Over with "You're Still The One", and "Honey I'm Home". The two most well known though are probably "Man, I Feel Like A Woman" (#4), and "That Don't Impress Me Much" (#8) as both were cross over hits. "You're Still The One" was also a big cross over single as well.
I've always been a huge Shania fan myself. Her music was all over the radio dial growing up and her album Come On Over was the first I ever bought, and she was also the very first concert I ever went too (Though James Otto gets the distinction of being the first singer I've ever seen as he opened for her in 2003). These are two of my favorites from Shania. She's had some pretty bad songs later in her career with "I Ain't No Quitter" and "Shoes", but her 90's catalog is pure nostalgia.

Random Video Of The Day:
Artist: Gary Allan Single: "Songs About Rain" Writers: Pat McLaughlin, Liz Rose Album: See If I Care Label: MCA Nashville Video Director: Morgan Lawley Year Released: November 17th, 2003 Billboard Peak: #12
"Songs About Rain" was the second single from Gary Allan's album See If I Care. The song followed his #1 single "Tough Little Boys", and was followed by another #1 single "Nothin' On But The Radio". The song was written by Pat McLaughlin, and Liz Rose. McLaughlin has been a songwriter for over 30 years. He had two more of his songs cut by Gary on his Get Off On The Pain album ("I Think I've Had Enough", "When You Give Yourself Away"). Liz Rose I've profiled before, but to rehash some of her many credits; they include "Teardrops On My Guitar" by Taylor Swift, "This Town Needs A Bar" by Jeremy McComb, and she wrote the #1 single of 2011 with Lee Brice which was recorded by Eli Young Band ("Crazy Girl").
One of my all-time Gary favorites. I remember hearing this song many times on my way back home from school every day. I went to middle school in another district, so I had to ride in a small station wagon like bus. We would have to pick tow more kids up from other schools, so it literally took 45-50 minutes to get home. Which means plenty of time to hear country music (luckily my driver listened to WYRK). When I found out this only peaked at #12, I was fairly surprised because I seemed to hear it all the time back then. "Songs About Rain" finished pretty high for a non top 10 single, at #46 on Billboards 2004 year end chart.

Random Single Of The Day:
Artist: Whiskey Falls Single: "Falling Into You" Writers: Bill Brandt, Wally Brandt, Seven Williams, Cliff Downs Album: Whiskey Falls Label: Midas Producer: Whiskey Falls Year Released: November 12th, 2007 Mediabase Peak: #39 Billboard Peak: #40
Whiskey Falls were a group that was comprised of Seven Williams (Lead Vocals, guitar), Wally Brandt (guitar, backing vocals), Buck Johnson (guitar, mandolin, backing vocals), and Damon Johnson (Lead guitar, backing vocals). Seven Williams and Wally Brandt knew each other already and met Buck, then Damon. Seven Williams had a past in both country and soft rock music, while Damon Johnson had a background in rock. Together they formed a country music style mixed with soft rock and bluesy influences. They signed to Midas Nashville in 2007 and released their debut single "Last Train Running" that spring. The song would peak at #31 on Mediabase in the fall of 2007. "Falling Into You" was their follow up and only other single from their self-titled record. The song would peak at #39, though it managed to stay on the charts between #42-40 for nearly two months before going down for good.
Since they meant for the band to be a temporary thing, they went their separate ways in 2009. Damon Johnson went back to the group Alice Cooper. Since then he has left for rock group Thin Lizzy. Seven Williams and Wally Brandt are now songwriters for numerous TV shows including The Simple Life, Tru Calling and Las Vegas to name but a few. They got back together twice. Once in 2011 for the Christmas song "Rudolf Guide My Way", and in 2013 for a Itunes only song called "Fast Talking Lover" for the television show Nashville.
I loved their only two singles, and their album was so different yet very well done. These guys clearly had talent and it's a shame they couldn't stay together, but it's nice to know they all have kept very busy since 2007/2008. Here was the Mediabase chart the week that "Falling Into You" had it's highest peaking week. Keep in mind that it would stay alive for two more months after this, but only managed to get back to #40 in April.

^ Poor Whiskey Falls will be overshadowed once again. :( Anyway, great picks kw9461. "Troubadour" is one of my Dad's all-time favorite songs. And of course "Amarillo By Morning" is one of my all-time favorite songs. Too bad there's only so many George music videos.

Random Video Of The Day:
Artist: Neal McCoy Single: "The Last Of A Dying Breed" Writers: D. Vincent Williams, Tommy Connors, Don Rollins Album: That's Life Label: 903 Music Video Director: Margaret Malandruccolo Year Released: January 9th, 2006 Radio And Records Peak: #36 Billboard Peak: #35
Neal McCoy is a 55 year old singer from Jacksonville, Texas. He is of Irish and Filipino descent. His real name is Hubert Neal McGaughey, but took the stage name Neal McCoy when he signed for Atlantic Records in 1990. His first major label album At This Moment would do nothing at radio, with it's highest charting single "If I Built You A Fire" only peak at #48. His next album Where Forever Begins would yield two top 40's including the #26 peaking "Now I Pray For Rain". Then in 1994, Neal would break through with his #1 single "No Doubt About It". 7 of his next 8 singles would go top 5 including "Wink" (#1), "There Playing Our Song" (#3), "You Gotta Love That" (#3), and "The Shake" (#5). Neal would leave Atlantic after his The Life Of The Party album in 1999. He would hook on with Giant Records for 24-7-365, and had a brief stint with Warner Bros. in 2002. His highest charting single between 1999 and 2002 was a tie; "I Was" (#37), and "Every Man For Himself" (#37).
Neal would be absent from the charts for nearly 3 years. He ended up starting his own independent label called 903 Music. His comeback single was 2005's "Billy's Got His Beer Goggles On" (#10). The song was off his That's Life album. The two other singles from the album were "The Last Of A Dying Breed" (#36), and "Tail On The Tailgate" (DNC). After 903 closed, he would sign to Blaster in 2011 and put out "A-Ok" (#52), and "Shotgun Rider" (DNC). His latest single is "Can You Do This" from a soon to be released album.
This is one of my favorites from Neal, and one of the farming songs I really enjoy. I also had a guilty pleasure spot for "Billy's Got His Beer Googles On". My other faves were "Wink", and "No Doubt About It". Here was the R&R chart the week "The Last Of A Dying Breed" had it's final bulleted week.

Artist: Kevin Sharp Single: "I Think I'll Stay Album: Make A Wish Label: Cupit Records Year Released: June, 2005 Radio And Records Peak: Did Not Chart Billboard Peak: Did Not Chart
I wanted to do one of these for Kevin in his memory. :)
Kevin Sharp was a singer from Redding, California. He was born on December 10th, 1970. Kevin is well known for his battle with cancer. He was diagnosed with bone cancer when he was just 19 years old. Doctors said it was a rare form of the cancer and was given little odds to defeat it. Two years would go by but Kevin beat his cancer with chemotherapy and radiation. Unfortunately during the long process of radiation treatment, he had permanently lost his hair. Sharp had met a producer named David Foster through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. After making a demo tape he got back in touch with Foster and sent him his demo. Foster set up a meeting with Asylum reps and he was eventually signed to the label in 1996. His first single was a cover of The Tony Rich Project's "Nobody Knows". The song would go on to be a #1 and be his signature as well. The song was featured of his Measure Of A Man album. There were two more top 5 hits from the record as well with "She's Sure Taking It Well" (#3), and "If You Love Somebody" (#4). The final single would be "There's Only You" (#43).
His next album would not fair as well, as Love Is only produced two low charting singles in "Love Is All That Really Matters" (#51), and "If She Only Knew" (#61). After being dropped by Asylum, he worked as a motivational speaker along with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. He also continued his music, and in 2005 he hooked on with small Cupit Records to release his Make A Wish album. No singles would chart with the project though "I Think I'll Stay" got some early station adds and had a music video which I have here.
Kevin Sharp passed away on Saturday due to stomach surgery complications and digestive issues. I remember hearing Kevin do a phone interview on WYRK when "Your Love Reaches Me" was released in early 2005 as his lead single for Make A Wish. I was taken by how down to earth he was and learned about his story that day. I went back to his catalog after hearing that to discover more than just "Nobody Knows". He was a great singer and definitely an even better person.
Rest In Peace Kevin Sharp (December 10, 1970 - April 19, 2014)

Random Video Of The Day:
Artist: Chris Cagle Single: "What A Beautiful Day" Writers: Chris Cagle, Monty Powell Album: Chris Cagle Label: Capitol Nashville Video Director: Eric Welch Year Released: November 4th, 2002 Billboard Peak: #4
"What A Beautiful Day" was the lead single from Chris Cagle's second studio album which was self-titled. The song was co-written by Monty Powell. Powell has written many songs including many for Keith Urban like "Tonight I Wanna Cry", "Who Wouldn't Wanna Be Me", "Days Go By", "You Look Good In My Shirt", "Kiss A Girl", and "Til Summer Comes Around". He also has produced albums for Diamond Rio. The second single from Chris Cagle was "Chicks Dig It" (#5), and "I'd Be Lying" (#39). After spending a while away from the charts, Chris returned in the summer of 2005 to release "Miss Me Baby" which peaked at #12 on R&R in early 2006. He only had two more top twenties since then with "What Kinda Gone" (#3) in early 2008 and "I Got My Country On" (#12) in early 2012.
Another song that brings me back memories of being a kid. Whenever I hear songs from 2000-2004, I just think back to Elementary school and Middle school. To be honest I haven't seen this video or heard this song in quite a while. Here's the top 40 singles on the Radio And Record 2003 Year End Chart, in which "What A Beautiful Day" finished at #25. :)

Terri Clark is a 45 year old artist from Medicine Hat, Alberta. Her real name is Terri Lynn Sauson. After moving to Nashville after high school, she sang regularly at Tootsie's and soon met Keith Stegall. After Stegall became an executive at Mercury, he signed Terri to a contract. Her debut was "Better Things To Do" in 1995. The song would peak at #3. In fact 5 of her first 6 singles would go on to be top 10 hits ("Suddenly Single" being the only exception #34). Two of those were "Poor, Poor, Pitiful Me" (#5), and "Emotional Girl" (#10) off her Just The Same album. Her How I Feel album yielded two more top 5 singles with "Now That I Found You" (#2), and "You're Easy On The Eyes" (#1).
After her Fearless album was the least successful of her career state side ("A Little Gasoline" being the highest charting single at #13), she came back with "I Just Wanna Be Mad" in 2002. The song would peak at #1 on R&R, replacing "19 Something" for a single week, though Mark Wills' song would reclaim the top spot the next week in February. Her next single was one of my favorites with "Three Mississippi" (#30) and her final single from Pain To Kill was "I Wanna Do It All" (#3). Her final top 10 American hit was "Girls Lie Too" (#1) in 2004. Her only charting single from Life Goes On was "She Didn't Have Time" (#25) in late 2005. Terri parted ways with Mercury and signed briefly with BNA and released "Dirty Girl" (#30), and "In My Next Life" (#36). Since then she has been mainly charting singles in Canada, with some of her recent Canadian hits being "Northern Girl", "The One", and "I'm Movin' On" with Dean Brody.
One of my favorites from Terri that once again bring me back to being in the 6th grade. The only one's I like more are "She Didn't Have Time", "Three Mississippi", and "A Little Gasoline". To bad she hasn't gotten back on the American country radar but she is still cranking out great music up north.

Excellent video, sabre14. If anyone knows the following, that's great: The same week Sammy Kershaw's Love Of My Life hit #2 in early 1998 (Tim McGraw's Just To See You Smile blocked it from the top), Mercury serviced a version of that song as a duet with Terri Clark (both Mercury artists at the time). The question is, why the wait?

Since then she has been mainly charting singles in Canada, with some of her recent Canadian hits being "Northern Girl", "The One", and "I'm Movin' On" with Dean Brody. I could write forever about this great lady. I love the song you selected, and I also love that she has continued releasing albums here despite decreasing stateside attention - though, with that morning show, she has started getting some more. I own every album she has released except one, and even then that's only because I haven't stumbled across the physical edition anywhere. I think her three most recent ones, released independently through her own company, feature some of her best material. I was able to see her and meet her five years ago now, and she was excellent. She's just real, and I would love to see her again. I can't wait for her new album this fall.

Random Single Of The Day:
Artist: David Lee Murphy Single: "Loco" Writers: David Lee Murphy, Kim Tribble Album: Tryin' To Get There Label: Audium/Koch Producer: Murphy, Tribble Year Released: January 5th, 2004 Billboard Peak: #5
David Lee Murphy is a 55 year old singer/songwriter from Herrin, Illinois. After moving to Nashville he signed a publishing deal and had numerous album cuts for artist such as Reba McEntire and Doug Stone. He would meet Tony Brown and strike up a friendship with the producer. He would later sign to MCA Nashville in 1994. His first single was actually a song from the 8 Seconds movie soundtrack called "Just Once" (#36). His first single from his debut album was "Fish Ain't Bitin'", but it would only reach #52. His first hit was "Party Crowd" in 1995, as it would peak at #6 and set up the release of his Out With A Bang album. David Lee's next single would not only be the biggest of his career by far, but go on to be one of the signature hits of the 90's. "Dust On The Bottle" would be his only #1 single and be a very popular gold title that is still heard on radio stations today. His final release from his debut album was the title track "Out With A Bang" (#13).
His next album Gettin' Out The Good Stuff would produce two more top 5 singles with "Every Time I Get Around You" (#2), and "The Road You Leave Behind" (#5). Unfortunately Murphy would only visit the top 30 one more time on MCA with 1997's "All Lit Up In Love" (#25) off his We Can't All Be Angels album. He would be dropped by MCA after that album's singles had run it's course. He would not sign another record deal till 2004 with Koch and release his top 5 hit "Loco" (#5). The only other single from Tryin' To Get There was "Inspiration" (#46) in 2004, and Audium/Koch would close it's country division in 2005. Murphy's biggest success has come as a songwriter. Some of his many single credits include "Anywhere With You", "Always The Love Songs", "Living In Fast Forward", "A Feelin' Like That", "Big Green Tractor", "Everything I Shouldn't Be Thinking About", "Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not", and "The More I Drink".
One of my absolute favorites of 2004. I wish I could have put the "Muy Caliente" version of "Loco" on here because that's the one on my iPod, and the version that WYRK played. Some of Murphy's co-writes I wasn't a fan of like "Pirate Flag" and "Way Out Here", but many I do enjoy. His song "Dust On The Bottle" is another song that helped me become a country fan as a little kid.

Random Video Of The Day:
Artist: Trailer Choir Single: "Rollin' Through The Sunshine" Writers: Butter, Big Vinny, Isaac Rich Album: Tailgate Label: Show Dog-Universal Video Director: Michael Salomon Year Released: March 22nd, 2010 Mediabase Peak: #50 Billboard Peak: #50
Trailer Choir is a duo (previously a trio) comprised of Marc Fortney ("Butter"), and Vinny Hickerson (Big Vinny). Crystal Hoyt was in the band until she departed in 2011. The group was originally started in 2004 by Butter and Big Vinny as a way to do covers and have some fun at local clubs. Pretty soon they decided to start writing their own material and decided to pursue a career in music even though it was never intended to be that way originally. Crystal Hoyt joined in 2006 after jumping on stage to help with vocals and the other two were so impressed they decided to become a trio. Toby Keith stopped by one of their shows in Nashville and asked to speak with them after the show. He brought them to his label were Show Dog signed them after a performance for the entire label.
The trio's first single was "Off The Hillbilly Hook" in 2008. The song would not chart but is on Toby's movie soundtrack for Beer For My Horses. Their second single was "What Would You Say" (#43) in 2009. They released a 6 song EP entitled Off The Hillbilly Hook in June of 2009. Their highest single would be that summer with "Rockin' The Beer Gut". The song would peak at #30 on Billboard. They would release their fourth single in March of 2010 called "Rollin' Through The Sunshine". The video director was Toby's longtime director Michael Salomon. The single would only peak at #50. The final single from their second studio release Tailgate was "Shakin' That Tailgate which was co-written by Brady Seals of Little Texas and Hot Apple Pie. They also had a song called "Last Man Standing" which was a theme song for High School Football shows and promos for the Sprint Cup Series. Crystal would leave in 2011, thus Trailer Choir becoming a duo.
Butter is married to Emily Robertson of Charter's Chord. Big Vinny was on The Biggest Loser in 2011 where he lost 184 lbs. He was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes before hand and decided to take control of his health. He was also married 2012. He proposed at The Grand Ole Opry.
This is by far my favorite song of theirs. I didn't like "Off The Hillbilly Hook", or "Beer Gut". "What Would You Say" was alright, but not spectacular. I was impressed by their live performance when I saw them open for Toby in 2008. One of the few times an opening act had nobody standing or paying attention to them when they first came on stage, but soon won the crowd over by the end of their set. "Rollin' Through The Sunshine" remains one of my favorites of 2010. Here's some of the songs around them when they peaked on Mediabase in 2010.
Week Ending: 5/14/2010
40. Alan Jackson - Hard Hat And A Hammer 41. Dierks Bentley - Up On The Ridge 42. Steve Azar - Sunshine 43. Jake Owen - Tell Me 44. Kellie Pickler - Makin' Me Fall In Love Again 45. Random Video Of The Day:
Artist: Jace Everett Single: "That's The Kind Of Love I'm In" Writers: Casey Beathard, Michael Patrick Heeney Album: Jace Everett Label: Epic Nashville Video Director: David McClister Year Released: June, 2005 Radio And Records: #49 Billboard Peak: #52
Going to do two videos today with the other following this one. Jace Everett is a 41 year old singer/songwriter from Evansville, Indiana. Jace signed to Epic in 2005 and released his debut single "That's The Kind Of Love I'm In" in the late spring of that year. The song would peak at #49 on Radio And Records and be off his self-titled debut album. The follow up was "Bad Things". Though the song failed to chart in America, it did chart in England, Sweden, and Norway because of it's use as the theme song on the HBO series True Blood in 2008. The final two singles from the album was the very underrated "Nowhere In The Neighborhood", and "Everything I Want". After the latter failed to chart, Jace was dropped by the label. He also co-wrote one of 2006's biggest singles "Your Man" by Josh Turner.
Since the re-release of "Bad Things", Jace has recorded a few more albums with some success overseas. His latest album was entitled Terra Rosa which was release digitally by Haywood Group Productions.

Random Single Of The Day:
Artist: Steve Azar Single: "Doin' It Right" Writers: Steve Azar Album: Non-Album Single Label: Mercury Nashville Year Released: May, 2005 Radio And Records Peak: #45 Billboard Peak: #47
"Doin' It Right" was a single released by Steve Azar in mid 2005, which unfortunately never made an album. This would be the second to final single from Steve's career at Mercury Nashville with the Christmas song "Catfish Christmas" being the official last single. Steve would move on to Midas Records for his 2006 release of "You Don't Know A Thing". After the song failed to crack the top 40, Steve would leave Midas to form his own label Dang Records and released his album Indianola in May of 2008. Steve has charted three more times since then with "You're My Life" (#52), "Moo La Moo" (#39), and "Sunshine" (#27). The latter two were off his Slide On Over Here album. I was actually really surprised with how well "Sunshine" did.
This might be my second favorite song of his behind "Waitin' On Joe". It's at least three with "You Don't Know A Thing" being up there as well. Here was the R&R chart the week that "Doin" It Right" peaked. Jace's song also appears that week as well.
Week Ending: 7/15/2005
40. Little Big Town - Boondocks 41. Billy Currington - Must Be Doin' Something Right 42. George Strait - Texas 43. Tracy Lawrence - Used To The Pain 44. Blue County - That Summer Song 45. Steve Azar - Doin' It Right 46. Gretchen Wilson with Big & Rich and Cowboy Troy - Our America 47. Steve Holy - Go Home 48. Clint Black - Rainbow In The Rain 49. Aaron Tippin - Come Friday 50. Matt Jenkins - King Of The Castle 51. Jeff Bates - Good People 52. Andy Griggs - This I Gotta See 53. Cowboy Crush - Nobody Ever Died Of A Broken Heart 54. Jace Everett - That's The Kind Of Love I'm In 55. Dwight Yoakam - Intentional Heartache

Random Video Of The Day:
Artist: Dixie Chicks Single: "Travelin' Soldier" Writers: Bruce Robison Album: Home Label: Columbia Nashville Video Director: Joel Gallen Year Released: December 20th, 2002 Billboard Peak: #1
"Travelin' Soldier" would be the final top 20 single for the Dixie Chicks at country radio. The song was the third release from their album Home. The song was written by well respected singer/songwriter Bruce Robison. Robison has written songs like "Angry All The Time" by Tim McGraw, and "Wrapped" and "Desperately" by George Strait. His brother is Charlie Robison who is a singer himself who was married nine years to Emily Erwin of the Dixie Chicks. He sang a version of "El Cerrito Place" in 2005 which Kenny Chesney later released as a single in 2012.
The Dixie Chicks first 7 singles all hit the top 10. Their first was "I Can Love You Better" (#7) in 1997. Some of their most well known hits include "Wide Open Spaces" (#1), "You Were Mine" (#1), "Without You" (#1), "If I Fall You're Going Down With Me" (#3), "Long Time Gone" (#2), and "Landslide" (#2). They would make their 2006 studio album Taking The Long Way off Wide Open/Columbia Nashville. It included the top 40 single "Not Ready To Make Nice" (#36). In 2013 they toured for the first time since 2007 across much of Canada. Martie McGuire and Emily Robison would also start a duo in 2010 called The Court Yard Hounds. They have made two record, with the most recent one Amelita released in 2013.
This is my favorite song of theirs and one of my all-time favorite country songs ever. Brilliant songwriting by Bruce Robison. I still remember being in the 7th grade when this song was on the charts, every time I hear it.

Random Video Of The Day:
Artist: LeAnn Rimes Single: "Something's Gotta Give" Writers: Craig Wiseman, Tony Mullins Album: This WomanLabel: Asylum-Curb Video Director: David McClister Year Released: December 12th, 2005 Radio And Records Peak: #1 Billboard Peak: #2 "Something's Gotta Give" was the third single from LeAnn Rimes' This Woman album. It was the first #1 LeAnn had since "One Way Ticket (Because I Can)" in 1996. Though the song was a R&R only #1, as it peaked at #2 on Billboard. The song was written by Craig Wiseman and Tony Mullins. Wiseman and Mullins are good friends and well known songwriters within Nashville. Some of Tony Mullins songwriting credits include "Little Bit Of Life" by Craig Morgan, "Nobody Gonna Tell Me What To Do" by Van Zant, "How Forever Feels" by Kenny Chesney, and "Me And My Gang" by Rascal Flatts. This song would actually be the final time to date that LeAnn has had a top 10 single. Her next closes one was the #14 peaking "Nothin' Better To Do" in late 2007. I believe this is one of Zazie's favorite LeAnn songs as well as one of mine. Great memories of 2006 come back to me when I hear this. Unfortunately despite it's success, just another one of those songs that you rarely hear anymore on the radio. Can't seem to locate my week ending 6/9/2006 chart, so here's a R&R chart week in May where LeAnn was at #6. Week Ending: 5/12/20061. Jack Ingram - Wherever You Are 2. Jason Aldean - Why 3. Dierks Bentley - Settle For A Slowdown 4. Bon Jovi w/Jennifer Nettles - Who Says You Can't Go Home 5. Faith Hill - The Lucky One 6. LeAnn Rimes - Something's Gotta Give7. Tim McGraw - When The Stars Go Blue 8. Phil Vassar - Last Day Of My Life 9. Joe Nichols - Size Matters (Someday) 10. Kenny Chesney - Summertime

Great selections recently. I still listen to "Travelin' Solider" all the time; a brilliant song and performance to match Also, great LeAnn and Shania selections, too. "Songs About Rain" and "Runaway" are both so underrated.
