Thanks jholmes for the information about chart runs. I guess I was trying to squeeze too many releases into that time frame.
Looks like its gonna be one or the other for the summer, with not much chance of cutting the summer in "half" with releases.
Talladega should be a no-brainier single, but with cold one being mid-tempo and name checking the month of May it seems like a logical late spring/early summer release to me.
I'm betting one of those two will be the next single. It'll be fun to see what happens.

I hope "Talladega" is next. Then I'd go with either "Roller Coaster Ride" or "Broke Record" 4th, and then "Cold One" 5th. That would put "Cold One" out in early 2015, I'd bet. Maybe March-June or somewhere in there (not that it has to go with the "May" reference, but I like the idea of this order of singles).
"Dark Side" would be a good single too. I'd like to see that one released at some point, maybe 6th? But I wouldn't be opposed to it coming earlier. And I really want to see "That's Damn Rock & Roll" go out to rock radio, I think that would be cool :)
For what it's worth, current positions on the iTunes country chart:
03 Give Me Back My Hometown 16 The Outsiders 39 Talladega 63 Like A Wrecking Ball 96 Cold One 98 A Man Who Was Gonna Die Young 105 Dark Side 117 Roller Coaster Ride 178 That's Damn Rock & Roll 236 Broke Record 249 The Joint
(for some reason, "Devil, Devil [Prelude: "Princess Of Darkness"]" is album-only on iTunes)

I too think "Talladega" is a no-brainer for the third single. Hopefully they go with "Roller Coaster Ride" fourth though. I'm now listening to this album on a daily basis, and "Roller Coaster Ride" I've become flat out addicted to. It's my favorite song on the record by far, though "Cold One, "Broke Record", and "Like A Wrecking Ball" are getting better and better with each passing listen.
There is only one song left that I still don't care for and that's "Devil, Devil". Even the "Outsiders" is tolerable to me now. Before I changed the station when it was charting. I can't believe how far I've come from the shock of hearing this album for the first time. Money well spent for sure :).

Before we all go single guessing I do think we need to be aware of the fact that singles have already been decided and will follow the music video story from Hometown. So even if something may scream radio ( Talladega) it may not follow the story and concept of the videos.

It seems like an album that Hank III would do. Eric certainly pushed the bounds of having the album labeled.

Glad to see this album selling so well in the first week. I have been reading this thread and I love all the commentary. It's good to read all the different views. It has added some depth on a couple of songs that I hadn't thought of before. It's refreshing to have a country album where the lyrics can be discussed like that.
I've been a huge EC fan for a long time and I really love this album. Not ready to say this is his best album yet since it's still so fresh, but it's well on its way. Can't wait to see these songs live.
Favorites for me: Cold One, Roller Coaster Ride, Like a Wrecking Ball, and the Joint.

Love that. The Beatles are notoriously hard to cover, because people are so attached to the original versions. But Eric definitely put his own stamp on that, and I really enjoyed it.
