My least favorite of all of Janets albums (post control). I only liked R&B Junkie and With You.

Now that her hit-making days are behind her, I'd really just love to hear her get back with Jimmy & Terry one day and record vintage Janet records. Thank you Janet. :)

Just A Little While is amazing. It reminds me of a combination between "All For You" and "Doesn't Really Matter".

I still play "Like You Don't Love Me" and "R&B Junkie" on the regular.

Looking back on it, it's a bloated record with a number of bright spots, and could have been helped immensely by some simple editing. Below is a more streamlined tracklist that jettisons the perfunctory interludes and soppy porno ballads. There weren't really any immediate singles on here, though - SuperBowl or not, it was never destined to be as successful as her past albums. 1. Sexhibition 2. Strawberry Bounce 3. My Baby 4. Island Life 5. All Nite (Don't Stop) 6. R&B Junkie 7. I Want You 8. Like You Don't Love Me 9. Thinkin 'Bout My Ex 10. Slo Love 11. Just A Little While 12. Put Your Hands On Not sure what I was thinking. I just listened to this album front to back, and it KNOCKS. All Nite (Don't Stop) on headphones is an absolute slay.

I was pretty disappointed when “Damita Jo” came out. Like others said it is pretty cohesive but it’s not what I wanted from Janet at the time. I found the slow sexy songs boring at the time. On this album and “All For You”. There were a couple of songs that were instant for me like “All Nite (don’t stop) and RnB Junkie”. I remember being annoyed that the version of “Just A Little While” was different than the more Urban sounding one that Boston radio played for a little bit. Looking back now I probably didn’t give the album a chance. I’m listening now and just discovered “Like You Don’t Love Me”. Back then I guess mid tempo Janet wasn’t for me because I only remember playing a few tracks from this a lot. “All For You” like others said isn’t really a better album as a whole but had some bigger highs on it. Plus they stuck “Doesn’t Really Matter” on it as a bonus track which helped.

Its 20th anniversary and this album has aged like fine wine. As far as I'm concerned, her unbroken quality streak is Control-Damita Jo - what a six-album run! Celebrate Damita Jo!
