I just hope for a proper era this time. An album she really believe's in. I don't want another era of her just throwing out an album just to have new touring material.

The Beyonce comparison came up because Madonna said it was a secret? Madonna has said that a quite a few times in the past.

A hint maybe
Patrick Leonard
Los Angeles-based Songwriter, Producer and Keyboardist Patrick Leonard has collaborated with such legendary artists as Elton John, Madonna, Fleetwood Mac, Roger Waters, Jeff Beck, and Bryan Ferry, to name a few. Having achieved worldwide success with performers like Jewel, Bryan Adams, Enrique Iglesias and Rod Stewart, his recent projects include albums by Casey Stratton, Duncan Sheik, and a collection of rearranged classic Bon Jovi cuts, "This Left Feels Right." As a performer, Patrick was a founding member of, and the principal songwriter for, early 90s progressive-pop studio band, Toy Matinee.
Patrick's soundtrack production credits include blockbusters such as Moulin Rouge, Shrek, Legally Blonde, and Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron.
Having written and produced her breakout hits, Patrick is currently working with Madonna on an upcoming project.

Maybe, but weren't there rumors with Patrick months ago, if so, they could just be piggybacking on that old news. Personally I would hope it's true.

:O I'd love it if that were true!! Patrick and Madge do magic. I need some of that for her next album. She's capable of so much more... And I hope she can still manage to have a hit as big as 4M or maybe (hopefully) a #1.

xxzion- what do the stats have to do with anyone being anyone? There's no reason to make comparisons to another act, especially at this stage. I know you're not the one who did so in the first place, just sayin'. ;) Doubt wed have anything new by the time summer is over. Your right Holiday ...it's just these stupid comments that I see I can't help but to remind them of we're there artist stands when comparing.

My bestest said she pretty much tackled every genre. He wants her to do a Rock Opera sound. He would die if that happened. Lol

I actually think "Some Girls" might be one of her worst songs ever.

I don't mind her doing electronica music but I also hope it's not an EDM album. I don't expect another Ray Of Light but I like the idea of her doing something that is lighter in sound and more thoughtful. I'd also like her to have some decent co-writers too who can write lyrics that aren't completely awful. Yes to new co-writers. If I have to "Like a moth to a flame" or "But I have no regrets" for the umpteenth......... My bestest said she pretty much tackled every genre. He wants her to do a Rock Opera sound. He would die if that happened. Lol I loved her rock-inspired re-working of "Borderline" on the Sticky & Sweet tour (not quite Rock Opera), but I'd love for her to take things in a rockier direction. I actually think "Some Girls" might be one of her worst songs ever. & "Superstar" for how generic it is and how uninterested she sounds while singing those dime-a-dozen love song lyrics.

Just a mess.

Almost all of the MDNA tracks had outside songwriters (Mika, Jean-Baptiste etc.) and a lot of the lyrics were still bad and hardly better than "waiting/hesitating". Superstar is the worst offender to me.

"Gang Bang" was the highlight of the uptempo numbers on MDNA- harkened back to the Erotica era a bit.

I have always thought that was one of the most profound, and epic songs she has ever recorded. That one has a really powerful, beautiful meaning, of course it's in Sanskrit.

je suis, every act has songs that doesn't measure up to their best or that are "bad." Especially acts who haven't been as acclaimed or revered as Her Madgesty.
"Cry Baby" fit with the Breathless character and all of that "I'd Rather Be Your Lover" is decent, and, sorry, but "Mer Girl" is divine. It's not a mainstream/commercial track, so it takes some dedication and passion to listen to it.
Some of those other tracks, I'm indifferent to or don't care much for. "Let Down Your Guard" especially is one of them, but at least it was never commercially released. And a couple of others were B-sides.

At this point that goes without saying. Start our bets on Avicii, Zedd etc?

Every Madonna album - sans the ballads compilation, of course- has music you can dance to. Some more than others, but uptempo music always has a presence.

Definitely excited for this project. I just hope she comes back with more inspired music - there were def moments of magic and some fun throwaway pop on MDNA, but it'd be great if she could sustain the magic over a full album this time...it's been awhile. I always majorly look forward to her releases regardless, as there will always be at least a few of those lightning-in-a-bottle moments. :)

Well this was her flop era of the decade... Usually comes at this time of the decade: Erotica, American Life, MDNA :) Music came to my iPhone earlier and I thought how timeless that song is. I was not a huge fan of it when it was released, but it has aged greatly :) Madonna and dance music are inseparable! Even for Evita she HAD to do a remake of DCFMA and for I'm breathless she still brought Vogue as an extra. Time for another dance gem actually maybe second single and all, but yeah, a great modern uptempo anthem!
