Wow this is utterly disgusting. To think I “was” a Coldplay fan. One thing, Mariah always gets the last laugh. I would like them to answer for this though considering the cancellation of others. Why are they unscathed??

The struggle woman face to gain respect even when their artistry and talent is out of this world vs the inheritance of respect these men get who need to be in a band to cobble up the talent that one woman has in her pinky finger.

I never understood why some of her peers come for her like that. It’s bizarre.
I’m totally with Liron on MC being underrated. She just doesn’t get the respect she has more than earned.

Well I think also, Mariah for a while was ignoring people who did that rather than call them out. She is starting to call people out more rather than ignore it which is starting to help her cause. They certainly don’t do it again.

Mariah has always been an easy punching bag. Early in her career it was because she was seen as inoffensive (cue Madonna's mid-90s comments) and as her success being due to Tommy. After the split with Tommy it was because she was seen as slutty/girly/ditzy. Mariah has rarely projected "strength" the way Madonna, Whitney, Mary J, Beyonce, etc have been seen, so people feel like they can attack her. It's all ultimately rooted in misogyny as to be "girly" or "feminine" is seen as negative and weak. I've always said it's actually a testament to Mariah's strength that she has been so maligned yet has never changed her image or who she is to try to get respect. That's what actually merits respect.

I feel validated in always finding Coldplay bland and overrated.

I honestly believe Chris was telling a bad joke and I'm not just saying that as a day 1 Coldplay fan either. I just don't take everything seriously or label every joke about a woman as misogynist.

Girl, you have got to be kidding me if you think calling Mariah's boobs a floatation device is a 'bad joke' or anything other than misogynistic garbage.

Of course it was misogynistic. When asked about a comparison with a woman (who was winning btw), he sexualized her in order to diminish her achievements. Very misogynistic. Full stop.

Imagine this happening today. They'd immediately be called out, cancelled by some and probably issue an apology right away. How times have changed...

Louder for the people in the back. It's just a reminder that the white rock crowd always loved to put her down, and unfortuantely that's who made up the bulk of critics and people voting on the Grammys throughout her career. The makeup of critics has thankfully changed for the better since then and Mariah has started to get her flowers. But man alive was it a brutal time to be a woman in the music industry who wasn't a Carole King or Joni Mitchell type.

It better be the full version and not the edit from Around the World! (The full version has more of Olivia so that gives me slight hope, but not a lot.)

"It's A Wrap" enters its first 'major' chart of sorts as it debuts at #50 on the YouTube USA Top Songs chart with 1.72 million streams for the week February 10-16. That's wild since there is no official video (not even a lyric video) for the song. (In general I remain confused as to why Sony/Mariah don't do lyric videos for more of her songs!) That's better than the "Big Energy" remix was doing on YT. Mariah rises to #73 on the YouTube USA Top Artists chart with over 8 million streams. I wonder how many of its Spotify streams are from the U.S.? With all versions combined I think it had 4-5 million total Spotify streams last week. If only 50% of those are U.S. that still gives it over 2 million U.S. Spotify streams and like 4 million U.S. streams from Spotify and YouTube. I think 5 million streams would get it on the Hot 100, or at least Bubbling Under. It has to be close with Apple Music and other services added in. Separate (unless she set it to "IAW"), I think a cool commercial would be Mariah advertising for driverless vehicles because she could do a play on how she doesn't drive anymore, but could also be singing along to a song of hers and doing all of her hands movements which she's now free to do because her hands don't have to be on the steering wheel.

I don't hear a misstep in this full version that leaked, and tbh I think the 2nd verse is even better: In fact I looove Mariah on "fool forget him" and really want this in higher quality. Anyway I wonder if the full version was lost when she left Sony or something so all that's left is the edited version. That damn ATW special was full of edited versions of songs.

I need her to put out new music and well before Christmas, so it doesn’t get lost in the mix.
