What do you mean?

"RATCT" had 2.5 million more streams, and likely had the lead on the highest tier of streams so the lead is really larger than that total.
"AIWFCIY" led by 3000 sales, but sales are so small that gap doesn't mean much. It led by 4+ million impressions, but even then neither song has top 10 airplay so...

It’s also the 30th year anniversary. It would be so awesome to get the album to #1. The album has a pretty good chance of being certified Diamond!

At this point every living human knows "AIWFCIY" so it's hard to truly push it. I think the only real way to do something is to tack a new song (maybe her "Where Are You Christmas?") exclusively onto physical product and push for sales. At the same time, that's also a tactic that could be used to help sell the album (and for that it could also be added to the album on streaming) so they'd have to choose. Another way to help the album is to push more of the album tracks on playlists, but that would potentially hurt "AIWFCIY." So, again, they'd have to choose which to push.

I still think the album needs another 2 years to get to Diamond, despite whatever some random Twitter source said. The album was certified 8 million in 2020 and then 9 million this year. That was a 3 year gap. We've been getting its weekly sales totals during the holiday season, and for the holiday season it tends to sell 250-300k overall. At that rate it makes sense that it would take 3 years to get upped another million. I don't know why any source would think it's already close to or over 10 million.

Couldn’t her team throw out some coins to get it to #1 on every playlist they could? That’s probably where I would start. And maybe a new YouTube video every week… plus discounting the song early on.

Mary still has more respect/cred in critic circles than Mariah does, even as Mariah's reputation has grown over the years there.

But her voices or style doesn't mesh with Tinashe unless Tinashe wants to rap on the record or Taylor Swift. Mariah isnt working with Taylor cause their style clash. MC ain't into pop music anymore

I was thinking stylistically Tinashe does a lot of forward-thinking R&B which could be an extension from some of the sounds on Caution.

For Taylor Swift, that's strictly relegated to Christmas in my mind and is a shameless fantasy for both of them to notch another #1.

Yep. Working with Taylor Swift would make absolutely no sense. That idea might be the most unlikely person on the list. Their musical styles have nothing in common. Mariah is into soul/R&B/hip hop.

I've said it before, but I'd even just love to see Mariah do some backing vocals and arrangements for Ariana and/or Kelly. "Everytime I Close My Eyes" is great (and obviously so are the vocal arrangements she does for her own songs). Why not put that part of her talent to use for others again?

Along those same lines, a true collaboration with Janet and/or Brandy could be great for the vocal arrangement alone my god! Mariah's airy vocals would work very well with those ladies.

I'd definitely love a great duet with Maxwell. Usher would be great too; I actually like "How Much," but he only has like 1 lead line on it lmao.
