If she had been a month or so earlier, she probably could have gotten the TIME cover over Beyonce, j/k somewhat . Oh well, the campaign begins for next year's cover! Apparently, someone at TIME has a massive hard on for Mariah! Must be a new hire higher up because I can't recall her ever getting this much attention from them.

I honestly think Mariah had no IDEA that Elusive Chanteuse would have such an impact. I am so proud.

Better promo than any label could provide, Mimi comes with a wind machine and enough kooky to garner press anytime she want, album sales or not.

Anyone else hope we get a new single, hopefully the REAL song of the summer, 'THIRSTY' next week? And have her perform it on the morning concert series etc. Before the album drops I feel like this would be perfect....

Everyone should make sure to share that TIME magazine feature about creating your own Album cover on facebook and Twitter. Even if you're too shy to make one for yourself, at least share the story. It could go viral and if TIME notices they are getting a lot of traffic they will keep Mariah stories coming, more promo for the new album. This title has taken on a life of it's own and has really generated some press. So let's help her out. This might be the best promo she's got since we can't rely to heavily on IDJ. time.com/84645/mariah-carey-album-title-generator/

Looking forward to hearing the album but i dont get why its not available till the 27th, would be better to get it out there now i think. also have been listening to charmbracelet for the first time, i can leave or take the sort of music on it, but i like it so far, very mellow and laid back. In my opinion its a similar record to Rainbow and easily as good as that record, if not better. All it was missing was a couple of really strong singles but as a body of work its solid. Opinions lambs?

Charmbracelet is definitely considered her weakest (or at best second weakest) album it seems. But I have to admit that as I've grown up and my musical tastes have changed, I've grown to appreciate its mellow, easy-listening sound. As part of her whole collection, I'm happy to have it as it definitely a great listen when I'm in that mood.
Mariah really does have an album for pretty much every mood!

To be honest nothing on Charmbracelet made me love or hate it, it was just middle of the road blah. The one Mariah album that I cant stand majority of the songs is tbh 'Rainbow" which I personally find to be her most juvenile, annoying and unneeded record. The saving grace is there a few songs that I love ( Heartbreaker, Crybaby for example)....but some of the worst of Mimi is on that album. Her voice sounds like it was marinaded in liquor too. Even her becky, california teen bopping fashion sense on that album wasn't for me.

Yeah, Rainbow and Charmbracelet are her worst albums in my opinion. Rainbow because as Coco said very juvenile and obvious trend chasing on that album. Charmbracelet would have been better if A. the vocals weren't subpar/completely terrible and B. she had a few great songs for singles on that album it is like listening to a filler only album.

I really hope we get some big, well-written hooks from her like the ones on E=MC^2. If she gives me a gem like this one, I will be happy. This one was a missed opportunity as it was one of the catchiest songs she has ever written.

So I'm guessing from the tracklist that the Stevie Wonder track didn't make it - surely he would have been credited (even if he wasn't singing)...which makes me wonder who from the list of features was she referring to last week when she said there was an undisclosed collaborator ?! Unless it was a producer ??

I haven't been this excited for an album since E=MC2. The song titles and features and the producers.. this is going to end up being one of her best albums. Im so excited I don't even care where she lands on the charts though it would be a GREAT plus. The reality has hit me now that We all get a new Mariah Carey album, the first (non-holiday)album in 5 years, the week of Memorial Day Weekend. We can all jam to new Mariah all Summer.. were all getting new videos, new remixes!! I CANT FRKN WAIT!!!!!! The Era of The Queen has officially Begun!!!!!

Looking forward to hearing the album but i dont get why its not available till the 27th, would be better to get it out there now i think. Mariah just finished the album a week or two ago. The 27th was basically the earliest they could get it out in terms of manufacturing the CDs and packaging, purchasing ads and shelf space, etc. I think the production and songwriting on Charmbracelet was quite strong. What brings the album down is all those whisper vocals combined with terrible mixing/sound quality. The melodies in "Boy," "Clown," "Lullaby," etc. are great. I really like what she did with "Bringin' On The Heartbreak," and if she had built that vocal like she does "Fly Like A Bird" it would have been epic! "Subtle Invitation" would have also benefited from some fuller vocals because the production is top-notch. "Miss You" should have been on the album; it's better than half the songs that made it, and I think it could have been a single, too. Leigh - Mariah said Stevie just plays harmonica on a song. That probably wasn't enough for a credit.

Unless it was a producer ?? He wasn't given a feature credit on Confessions Pt 1 with Usher nor Doing It Wrong on Drake's album for his harmonica playing. He was given credit in the booklet. The same would happen here as well.

Me. I Am Leo ... The Vatic Cantor
I love this s**t! And I so can't wait to hear thirsty and the new album! This really is starting to feel like the TEOM era again when she had that huge banner on time square. They need to serve a hot new single in the next few days to help us cope with the wait for 5/27.

Recently you may have noticed the likes of Anita Baker, Maxwell, Prince , Beyonce, Patti Labelle, all the way down to Ariana and Tamar Braxton to a host of others including Coco singing the praises of Mimi.....but let me remind you what Stevie Wonder the most accomplished and best male vocalist of our times said about our beloved Queen
"I could never describe or measure the level of respect and love I have for Mariah Carey in just 300 words, but you know, I'll do my best. I've met only three people who had a truly wonderful voice and spirit to match: my first wife Syreeta, Minnie Riperton and Mariah. Obviously she is talented and has a great voice, but when a person has the opportunity to be heard and seen, at the end of the day she will also be felt. I think Mariah has enjoyed such success at 38 because she's a good person; her heart is good. I love her spirit. When I lost my mother, she was one of the first people to reach out to me. She was away, but she still found a way to call me up and say a prayer with me. It's easy to be friends when the lights are bright, but how is your love when there's none of that? I know how Mariah's is.
She has the ability to be sexy, but not so much that you think it's getting too crazy. It's a sexy classiness. The whole thing with her song Touch My Body is that she keeps it acceptable and has fun with it. And Mariah didn't break all those sales records just because she's beautiful. She has perseverance and consistency. You need the two: the ability to keep going and the ability to keep doing the right thing. She once said that every time she makes a new record, she feels as if she's brand-new again, like a young person looking at a computer for the first time. By doing it and not thinking about it, she lets the magic come.
When people talk about the great influential singers, they talk about Aretha, Whitney and Mariah. That's a testament to her talent. Her range is that amazing.
I look forward to the time the two of us can do a song together. I'm rewriting a song for her. It's going to be a tribute to my mother."
