It's too late now, but they also could have added the Tatou Club EP to the debut on a deluxe edition for MC30 and had that counting toward the debut. Not that it has a ton of streams or anything, but every little bit helps. Plus lambs would have bought that vinyl up.

While Mariah might not acknowledge time, time acknowledges her. Realistically while she is still in the general public’s mind, she should be doing what she can to generate interest in her catalog. Now is the time to strike while she is in the mood to make public appearances and participate with the media and while they are writing favorable reviews of her work. She is probably going to reach a point where she won’t make public appearances making it harder to market anything. We also don’t know how once Mariah is gone her kids will manage her catalog.

Not to be morbid, but Michael Jackson and Whitney are still releasing material over a decade after their deaths. I understand the lambs want these anniversaries and special editions now, but her label might be playing the long game. Mariah is one of the greatest music legends still living with one of the biggest catalogues, my point was that IMO there is still plenty more to come.

Has actual new Whitney material been coming out? I know documentaries and movies keep dropping, but there hasn't been much previously unheard music released since her death has there? With Michael there seems to be a bit more unreleased music that has come out since he died, but it's the same kind of stuff we've been getting with Mariah; an album of unreleased songs, bonus tracks tacked onto deluxe editions of anniversary albums, etc.

I do get the logic in spacing some things out, but the reality is Mariah will be less and less relevant as the years go by (outside of her holiday music). It's not like many people are checking for rarities from Elvis or Sinatra at this point, for example. I don't think she needs to drop everything she has right now, but as these 25th and 30th anniversaries come around I think it makes some sense to use deluxe editions to highlight those albums. The reality is unreleased songs and live performances are treats for die hards, not things that really help bring attention to her legacy. Might as well get stuff to the fans when you can. I think it's use in shows, movies, etc that help an artist's legacy.

I think she's been doing a good job of highlighting her catalogue since The Rarities, but in general she has been quiet since the pandemic. She seems to be working on a lot of stuff, but I hope at least some of it comes to fruition soon.

She had Masterclass, released Big Energy(Remix), Butterfly 25th Anniversity, Roof remix with Brandy, performed at BET Awards, Global Citizen etc, so she definitely has been out there, where have u been?

Well I'm sure MJ fans didn't think anyone could play him. There's a lot of talent out there. I'd love to see a musical based on her life that of course incorporated her music. The real problem would be figuring out how to fit her life into a small time limit.
