Diddy was so embedded in hip-hop, pop and R&B in the 90's and 2000's, entire catalogues and albums from artists would need to be removed. Don't see why "Honey" or the "Fantasy" remix would be singled out. I don't see it happening. Practically all of R Kelly's work for other artists remains on streaming.

I would have an issue if she called Diddy for a remix in 2024 but who the hell is reaching back to the mid 90s!!
Its not like R Kelly even cause the lyrics and his love songs and how they are tied to his actions. Diddy productions on all those rap songs and rnb uptemp tracks are easier to forget the person from the songs. Nobody listens to Biggie or Mary J or Mariah and thinks Diddy

Serious Question about 'Honey' - With all these things coming out about PD, will MC end up pulling the standard version 'Honey' similar to what Celine/Lady Gaga did after RK? I believe MC is solo credited with the lyrics, he's obviously all over that track and is credited with the music. It's a really disturbing situation. Since MC is such a megastar, I'm sure she'll start to get mentioned in articles, etc. Obviously, we don't want this for her! One big difference is those Celine/Gaga songs were duets. Diddy is not a credited artist on either the "Fantasy" remix or "Honey" (or "Breakdown," which he also worked on). Diddy does have some small parts on those songs, but not an entire verse or anything. Plus as Ling-Ling mentioned, other artists didn't take down songs R Kelly wrote/produced for them (Maxwell's "Fortunate" and Britney's "Outrageous" being two examples). I will say I am very surprised (and disappointed) Mariah hasn't taken down the version of "Betcha Gon Known" that has R Kelly on it. If anything of Mariah's would be taken down, it would be the "Honey" remix video since Diddy is very present in that video.

I think the difference is Mariah isn’t championing Diddy or R Kelly in 2024. Mariah has seemingly always skirted these moments. I think it is helps that Mariah is past her commercial success, so no one is probably looking to tear her down. I have had my moments of disappointment from her in her money grab concerts and choice in collaborators at time. I think at this point given the entertainment industry it is hard to avoid anyone with a past. Even Mariah has mentioned, we don’t know the half of what is happening in the music industry. She probably isn’t the first or last woman who has had to keep quiet about the happenings of the music industry to have a successful career. Mariah also strikes me as the type who dips when she knows something or someone is sketch. She grew up in a sketch family, so she probably has a lot of awareness of it.

Adding R Kelly to "Betcha Gon Know" (and "Touch My Body" for that matter) was long after we knew of his marriage to an underage Aaliyah, and of course various allegations, investigations, and lawsuits all through the 2000s. Mariah was by no means the only major artist to work with him during that time, but at the point she did have him on her song, there was more than enough reason to find him sketch. Additionally, wasn't there video of Mariah with Brett Ratner well after the allegations about him came out?

It's wonderful that she's playing such big crowds lately- definitely prefer this to the Vegas residencies although I get why she does them.
Looking forward to MC30. Though I don't listen to much Christmas music, a LAMB from another site mentioned Michael Buble and Kelly Clarkson's Christmas albums have a higher proportion of more widely covered standards than Mariah? If so, couldn't she record a few and add to MC, or would that be a new album?

It's nice that St Jphn the Divine is being remastered since the quality was so poor on the last re-release, but it doesn't look like there is anything truly new. Ugh. I was really hoping for "Where Are You Christmas?" at least. Or maybe they are saving something new for the "AIWFCIY" singles?! I have no idea what this means. Both of their holiday albums have more tracks than Mariah's album, so of course there are more songs that have been covered if that's what it means. If they are talking about original songs that have been covered, obviously neither of them have an original song more famous than "AIWFCIY."

Additionally, wasn't there video of Mariah with Brett Ratner well after the allegations about him came out? The Aaliyah argument doesn't hold a lot of water though because he went on to nearly 15 years of even greater success and worked with nearly everyone in the R&B world after the story of that illegal marriage was broken. To me, as disgusting as his relationship with Aaliyah was, it didn't hurt him at all which is awful but I feel like it makes no sense to use when singling out Mariah. There could've been label pressure for people to work with him as well especially in the late 90s when he was a huge money maker, look at Dr. Luke. I'll give you the TMB/Betcha Don't Know. By 2008-2010, she should've known better.

I bought everything. I'm a sick, sick man. All three versions of the MOFI releases (over $200!!) Two new versions from Amazon CD single, 12" vinyl and 7" vinyl Maybe this purchase will finally fill the void that a man should be filling in my life.

Especially since the 7" has Sleigh Ride which hopefully edits the transition from the Apple TV special.
