Finally listened to the HQ solo version and its pretty amazing actually.
This is like an updated better(?) version of Obsessed and it knocks.
I honestly hear more hit potential in this than I did in Beautiful.

Yeah, that surely can't be the single cover- the head's placement on the body looks very off.
This probably has more potential at urban that "#Beautiful," but probably not top 40 radio. She's not really courting the pop crowd, so...

Try singing the chorus of Dreamlover over Fantasy. It's extremely easy to do. I can see "Dreamlover come rescue me" over "Heartbreaker you got the best of me" but not "It's just a sweet, sweet fantasy baby." And you definitely can't sing "Take me up, take me down, take me any way you want to baby now" over "When I close my eyes you come and take me" |

Yah, I don't think "Dreamlover" and "Fantasy" can be sung over each other. "Heartbreaker," while it has a different sample than either of those two, is the one that sounded like a rehash, though.
Thematically, "Dreamlover," "Fantasy" and "Emotions (and "Loverboy") aren't far off of each other.
Drag- oh, she did tweet that? Maybe she doesn't see what we see.

The only thing I am disappointed about is the single cover. I wanted her to be chugging a bottle of champagne or be throwing a mixed drink in a dudes face like he was Thirsty.

This is getting such a strong reaction. The Queen of Music is back! I am glad mama came back with something strong that has people bopping those heads. It says a lot that the album went from 200 on i-tunes to the 40's in a matter of hours. I am glad she has a solo and remix version. I hope she starts with the solo version and then sends the remix version out later. There is no reason urban shouldn't play the solo version. |

I think it may be smart to actually hold off on releasing "Thirsty" digitally to build airplay. She should release the song and video simultaneously to get a good Hot 100 peak.

The production is strong and understated at the same time- perfect. This is really catchy and definitely reminds me of "Obsessed" in a good way. I love the way she sings "You used to be Mr. all about we" and the rest of that- the melody is good. UH you thirsty! I like this a lot- GOOD JOB MIMI!
