^ ^ ^ That 500k stat isn't true; the album never had a week where it sold that much in the U.S. Not sure why people just make shit up. ^ ^ Yeah sundaymorningguy that 'Christmas Classics' playlist is huge and gives older songs a big advantage; it's the only major playlist "AIWFCIY" isn't on, so I don't think there is much her team can do. One thing would be for Spotify to create a new playlist for songs from 1980-2020, though; why do they have a 1940-1980 one, but not one for the next 40 years? Maybe a 'New Christmas Classics' playlist would do well, and obviously having "AIWFCIY" on there (but not "RATCT") could help. They didn't lie. I checked Wikipedia this is what was there "Merry Christmas was released in the United States on November 1, 1994, and debuted at number thirty on the US Billboard 200 with 45,000 copies sold in its first week.[2][40] In its fifth week, the album peaked at number three, with sales of 208,000 copies, but experienced its highest sales in its sixth week (when it was at number six), with another 500,000 copies sold. " So if it's wrong to be fair they probably just got it from Wikipedia |

It's also her 8th song to make the 200/200 club (200 million streams on Spotify and on YouTube).
I will give a full rundown of some streaming stats in the next few weeks as she has a few songs on the cusp of some milestones so I want to do a full recap.

Mariah served some of her BEST vocal moments in a long time on this Christmas tour. No joke. I was a little worried because her voice had been sounding very off all throughout last year and well into this one tbh, but thank God it has recovered a good deal. And thank God x2 that she has been recording/is going to record with her voice left in this shape. I have high expectations for the 2024 album vocally.
TL;DR - Yay!!! Slay, Chanteuse! 👏🎇

MC looks divine, and I hear Ella's lovely "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?" playing in the one video. I've always loved that one and think Mariah would sound great on it. It would be cool if she recorded it in her current vocal state and then added it to Merry Christmas for the anniversary next season.

For the general 2023 holiday season, these were some Spotify totals:
"AIWFCIY" - 316,000,000
"Christmas (BPCH)" - 60,000,000
"Oh Santa" - 29,000,000 (23,000,000 for the trio version and 6,000,000 for the solo version)
"O Holy Night" - 24,000,000
"Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" - 16,000,000
"Silent Night" - 10,000,000
"AIWFCIY" duet w/ Bieber - 9,000,000
"Joy to the World" - 5,000,000
"Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" - 4,000,000
The "AIWFCIY" duet with Bieber passed 100 million total Spotify streams, becoming Mariah's 20th song to pass that mark. It also joined the 100/100 club (100 million Spotify streams, 100 million YouTube streams) to become Mariah's 14th song in that group. Madonna has 9 songs in that club, and Whitney and Celine each have 8 songs in that club. Yet again Mariah shows how deep her catalog goes compared to her peers.
"Touch My Body" passed 200 million Spotify streams, becoming Mariah's 10th song to hit that mark. It also becomes Mariah's 8th song to join the 200/200 club (200 million Spotify streams and 200 million YouTube views). Madonna has 6 songs in that club, Whitney has 4, and Celine has 3.
"Fantasy" passed 400 million Spotify streams when you add the album version and remix together. It becomes Mariah's fourth song to hit that mark.
