Another year with Mariah Carey as my most listened artist according to Spotify - the second year in a row! ๐
My most-listened song from her this year was "Crybaby" - I really had a strong "Rainbow" phase for a while. Still do, really - the album is not perfect, but the highlights are phenomenal!

I told myself I wasnโt going to buy all of Mariahโs vinyls when they came out, at least not yet. Iโm already up to 7. I canโt help myself. I donโt own a record player but I will soon

The UK has never really 'gotten' Mariah, which is odd but whatever. Well also in fairness it looks like Mariahโs peers fared no better. Whitney from what I saw has 4 and Celine has 3 number 1 singles.

Why is Mariah keep saying โBillboard HOT 200โ? This is the second time in the last week or so. Lol

She knows what she's doing! She's putting it out into the universe that Merry Christmas will one day top the Billboard 200!

Whitney from what I saw has 4 and Celine has 3 number 1 singles. And Janet got 0 number 1 singles in UK....it is very tragic to see how UK treats all these great singers. Among Mariah's peer, only Madonna do well in UK, she got 13 number 1 singles in UK.

To also be fair, a lot of major UK artists that should have been big here in the states got paid dust too.

That is very true - hopefully Mariah can change that with back-to-back number one in UK this month. Yes I know that is a very big DREAM to DREAM - but hey I am going to send this positive energy to the universe to make it manifest and make it happen!

Watching the 88th annual Christmas in Rockefeller Center and seeing Kelly Clarkson perform her new Christmas song has me wondering if it was supposed to be Oh Santa (ft. Kelly Clarkson & J-Hud)? I mean these things were planned last year shortly after appearing on the Voice with both girls. I wonder if Kelly doing her own Christmas projects meant she couldnโt do it? I know itโs a long shot and weโll never actually know the inner workings but Ariana seems so random and if the song was arranged with a powerful voice like Kellyโs then it would make sense that she would have to fill in the spot with someone equally as good.

^ I would hope it's something like that because Kelly adores Mariah, has put out well-received Christmas music, and would've been perfect. I'd rather think that than think Mariah wasn't interested in working with Kelly because I'm sure Kelly would've jumped at the chance to do the special.

The article confused itself. Its graphics state different things than what the article says in the text. The graphics say 309 million on-demand and VIDEO streams. It also presents a bar graph of just the on-demand streams which appeared to be around 170 million. Iโm not sure if that makes a difference in the certifications

In regards to Mariah's chart history in the UK, while it's true she doesn't have as many #1's, she's done quite well there chart-wise. She has gotten close to getting a #1 multiple times and has several top 5's and top 10's there. In fact, she had a streak of top 10's from "I'll Be There" up to "Honey". So while her success there doesn't match her success in the US, she still had great success in the UK. Also, yes, it sucked that "We Belong Together" missed out on being #1.

I'm pretty surprised Mariah's siblings haven't tried to speak out to a media outlet since the book. Also surprised Tommy didn't, aside from that basic ass "I wish her luck with her book" or whatever comment he made preceding the release.
I guess her siblings probably realize they don't likely have nothing left they could 'blackmail' her with since Mariah was completely transparent about her life lows, and that at this point they'd just get ate up by her fans lol. And I'm sure Tommy knows it'd be better for him to just keep his mouth shut in an era where powerful men's toxic past behavior gets them cancelled/catches up to them.

Tommy is also very well aware of his contributions to Mariahโs trauma both early in her career, and during a highly publicized breakdown. Iโm also sure Mariah had the decency of warning Tommy what was to come in the book. Keeping still was his exact best move and strategy here.

I think her brother said something recently but no one cared. As for Tommy, he knows better. That one guy who spoke about the knife incident made it worst for him.

Well I think they all know if they say something that it will reflect on them not her, so the best remedy for that is to keep quiet and not bring attention to it. Not to mention, her fans will go in on them like they did Cory Rooney.

I especially enjoyed that IG post from (I think) Cory Rooney. He first said it didn't happen as Mariah said it did, then went on to explain what happened ... exactly the way Mariah had said it.

Yeah, UK was also a country where modt of her US flopped charted better. - AYNAF, Through The Rain, Its Like That hit top 10 - Boy (I Need You), IWTKWLI hit top 20 - Dont Stop, Say Something hit top 40 - Even The Roof, I Stay In Love, Angels Cry charted on top 100.
