She looked great and sound good in China! observation I noticed compared to Vegas last few shows. Her mic was on, she looks happy to be on stage and enjoying performing she even wore fucking PANTS

She sounds great on "I'll Be There." That song sits so well in her voice. And yeah, just singing in that register/tone is all that's really needed to separate her from the others.

The mic appeared to be ON though!

Her body looks amazing in pants I don't know why she doesn't rock some jeans more often as they would hug her curves so well!

The album that changed the foundation of pop and rnb as hip hop. The singles, videos, remixes, fashion and performances everything was A+++ https://www.instagram.com/p/C__jtzyvuqV And I know someone will hate on this album and you know who you are but it's a masterpiece

Her voice has been immaculate lately! I dunno how she does it! Meanwhile, Butterfly remains my absolute favorite Mariah album and I feel the best summation of Mariah as an artist in general! It's really the best of everything there is to love about her: magnific! Happy Anniversary!!!

I have a whole new appreciation for a song I paid dust to on Butterfly cause the version with Brian McKnight ruined it for me..however the album version of Whenever You Call is sublime, gorgeous and vocals

I know Mariah has had a sad set of circumstances with family, but it does make me wonder how much they weighed on her. She really seems to be flourishing and her voice has an energy to it again that hasnβt been there in awhile. I wonder if the stress of her family and all the uncertainty hindered her vocals at times. This is the clearest and cleanest I have heard her voice be in awhile.

Y'all, a student came to meet with me this morning about something he was in a bit of trouble for (nothing major). He walked in wearing an "All I Want for Christmas Is You" shirt. You know I wanted to help him out from that moment on lmao.

I love how anytime Mariah sings live and sounds good the Twitter lambs be speculating with conspiracy Mariah had vocals surgery she took her nodules out!! No baby she is mid 50s if she ain't done it before what makes you think she gonna do it now π
Maybe she was resting cause she had a tragedy. Maybe she is reflecting and has renewed energy and love again for performing all speculative on my part but surgery ain't it!

The Whisperfly era was really a fraud. I'm sorry Coco Yu'Kneek- Saint , but Mariah has brainwashed all the lambily with her freedom spiel and personal life mess. This album didn't change jacksh*t. All it did was further explore something that started on D A Y D R E A M.

I do agree with #LisaRinna that Butterfly was a natural progression from Daydream. Butterfly is definitely more influenced by hip-hop than Daydream was, but it's still a very similar fusion of styles. The biggest changes from Daydream to Butterfly were 1) her image and 2) the personal details in her lyrics. I personally love both albums and think both are top-tier 'mainstream' albums that hold up to this day. Daydream is impressive in how it aimed at 'pop' domination and achieved it with expert songcraft while also progressing Mariah's sound. Butterfly is impressive in how it managed to maintain Mariah's core identity as an artist while at the same time adapting to what was happening in the landscape of music and giving us her most personal album to date.

Can we just agree both Daydream and Butterfly are classics. Love them both and luckily I don't have to choose between the two! Both exist in my endless listening π§ loop

Serious Question about 'Honey' - With all these things coming out about PD, will MC end up pulling the standard version 'Honey' similar to what Celine/Lady Gaga did after RK?
I believe MC is solo credited with the lyrics, he's obviously all over that track and is credited with the music. It's a really disturbing situation. Since MC is such a megastar, I'm sure she'll start to get mentioned in articles, etc. Obviously, we don't want this for her!
