Apparently she meant "Thirsty" when she talked about a new single, which they shot a video for. According to MariahCareyPhilippines at least.

I don't understand why she's doing "I'm That Chick" and not "You Don't Know What To Do". Well, we all know she campaigned for "Thirsty" over "YDKWTD" as a single. So, now she is including "Thirsty" in the set list but not "YDKWTD." Including the similarly styled "ITC" is a statement of, "I'm that chick, and I'll play whatever songs I want." |

The thing is that YDKWTD is clearly the fan-favorite (basically almost worldwide) so why not just sing it? Mariah does not have to be enthusiastic about singing it on tour but it is what the crowd wants. And bitches please, I will never ever call YDKWTD a single, EVER, regardless if it had an adds date. It was mishandled right from the start with NO support from Def Jam AND Mariah. So nope, it's basically still an album track in my eyes.
I'm disappointed she isn't including YDKWTD for the tour and probably wouldn't add it to the setlist eventually but I like the rest of the set list and on the top of that, I desperately want to see her so I'm paying bucks regardless of how the set list will be like come my date so it's all good for me. :)

I am wondering if she just feels more comfortable abroad because they don't crucify her the way they do here in America if something doesn't go right. This is the most confident I have seen her in forever with her singing and stage presence. I am hoping this confidence translates over here.

OMG I love "Thirsty"!!! I hope the video is along the lines of "Obsessed" that's my favorite Mimi song/video. (I know, it's not her best song, but it's always been my fave)

Where are you all seeing/hearing "Thirsty" from the last show?
Anyway, I love the idea of her doing a medley of "Thirsty" and "Someday" since the former could be about Nick and the last is a song Nick loved that would have ironic meaning now. She could do most of "Thirsty" and then go into the bridge/breakdown of "Someday."

Let all the vocal coaches come out! This is her first tour in years not to mention the big time difference,oh and that little divorce drama. She will get better as she goes along just as she did on all her other tours. Exactly as I predicted!! Funny reading the "sky is falling" comments from the first show. |

Seriously. You should also watch the "Thirsty" performance from Taipei, she killed it there too. And yeah, "Thirsty" is FIRE live. Who would've thought?! |

A good band and an artist willing to work on arrangements can make most songs work in a live setting. "Shake It Off" has been done well in various live settings, too. 2. Mariah often writes song with melodies that are sturdy enough to work in a live setting. "Thirsty" has a broad melody in charts, and then it also has that aggressive, rhythmic chant hook. Those two things played for effect make a great song on tour. |

I'm glad the beginning night's of the tour proved to be just off night's.
She sounds a lot more comfortable and confident now.

I think the 'Thirsty' music video was misunderstood by the fans. I think she said if "you wanna be in her video sing along" but I think she was talking about the big jumbo screen while the song is playing...
