Yeah, I'm not convinced that this person put that acoustic version together on his own. It sounds like it was specifically created like that. Neither the music nor vocals sound sped up or slowed down, the voice seems to flow perfectly with the guitar, new vocals (at least at the end). I'm not saying it's part of the Sony scandal.... but, I'm convinced one guy with one other video with 200 views did NOT create this masterpiece on his own.

She sang "We Belong Together" in addition to "Hero" and "Emotions" on tonight's show.

I've been playing the acoustic version nonstop and yes...it sounds very odd to say this guy is claiming he remixed it himself. The vocals do not sound like 1994 Mariah. The vocals sound more like 1999-2004 Mariah in my opinion. I could be wrong but that's what I'm getting. My guess...this was an official recording that never was released and perhaps this guy added something to it. Those adlibs came from something we have never heard before.

Wow I can't describe how great Mariah was tonight!! I've pretty stayed offline since the opening night so the show was a complete surprise for me. Hark completely blew me away; her opening vocals were incredible and I definitely did not expect the show to start that way. I can't even talk about O Holy Night right now...

Damn. All you guys are making me so jealous. Mariah posted a sweepstakes to win tickets the other day for the final show...hope I win. If so, I'm on the next flight out.
Anyways, today at work a coworker asked me the question he asks me every week which is "What you spinnin this week?".
To which I replied, "the DANGEROUS album by Michael Jackson and Merry Christmas II You by Mariah". and he says
"aawwww man my wife and daughter get up every morning and put in her christmas cd and sing along and dance to it. There's no Christmas without Mariah".
:'( :'( :'(

Saw her tonight. She added We Belong Together tonight. And a surprise guest session of Debbie Allen. I wasn't sure if she appeared at the first two.
She wasn't as on as her first two shows. She evaded a lot of the notes from the studio versions. And honestly her voice did sound tired.
I'm convinced AIWFCIY, Holy Night and WBT were lipped. But that's fine because it seemed like everything else was on, and she tried a lot of notes and if she did lip, man was it very easy to be fooled.
The energy at the show was great. The venue was perfect. Adding Emotions is a smart choice - the show does need a bit more high energy. Overall - as a fan - I was completely satisfied with her performance and execution. Just only a tad bit underwhelmed that she didn't nail the songs like in the videos I saw from the first shows.

There are a couple of videos up on YouTube (sorry, I can't post atm) and she sounds stellar. I think this was her best night vocally of the Christmas shows so far. She gave her best performance of "O Holy Night" to date last night.

Not only was I stunned by Mariah, her vocals and just her clear joy to be there with us doing this show, but the stage setting was amazing! So festive and detailed - it looked perfect in the overall setting of The Beacon. I'm so proud of Mariah for putting such a stunning show together - I truly do hope it becomes an annual event as planned.

Since this is the last tracking period to get AIWFCIY as high as possible on the chart this year, it should've been discounted to 69 cents or at least 99 cents on iTunes this week. Currently #24... I'm guessing it will come in around #30 on digital songs and the Hot 100 next week.

So...the show happened last night. I actually had a hard time tearing myself away from the office holiday party because a) it's my first one with this company, b) they do it up right with a DJ an open bar and c) the ratchets all came out to play and were poppin their things and squatting all over the dancefloor and grinding on each other but...Mariah... Thoughts: - at one point, I thought the Angels Advocate show was better, in terms of more live vocals but I have since changed my mind - part of the reason is because the choir and band were sooo damn loud (part of me thinks this was on purpose to hide note dodging) - the parts that were lipped were CLEARLY lipped to a lamb like me (I would bet on my grandma's grave that the O Holy Night was 125% lipped...) but the general public were eating out of the palm of her hand for the first time since...I dunno when. It's like that infamous tree lighting performance and early Asian shows NEVER existed. Mariah, Magical Queen. - production value was high and her dresses looked expensive - I LOVED the talented singing and dancing children - I felt ALL types of ways when I heard the opening for Jesus, What A Wonderful Child (aka my favorite Mariah Christmas song) and realized that Mariah would not be singing it...at all. Never been here for Trey but what a smart cookie. Why try to make a sure-to-flop solo career happen when you be on Mariah's bankroll for life and occasionally be trotted out for duets or solos! Must be nice! - her random vocal moments were EVERYTHING. You know, how instead of talking, she will just articulate herself with random melodies. That was all the proof I needed to know that she was on her vocal A-game, so the rest was just icing on the cake, really. I lived for those moments. - I was happy that the crowd (full of a lot of non-lambs, based on the funny comments I heard ("What's a lambily?" "Who is Debbie Allen?" , she's sooo random!,etc.) was roaring most of the time during the glory notes but they drowned them out. Again, proud of her for commanding the respect of an audience so large and holding them rapt the whole time but still...I paid to actually HEAR Mariah. - I could have done without WBT when she had other Christmas songs like One Child to do. I hope she gets around to it at some point - the security game was EXTRA with the no pics/video rule. I saw a handful of people get ejected throughout the course of the night. It was somewhat distracting because the group of people near me were constantly joking about who would be next. After I got spoken to, I made some to keep that phone down. If I got ejected, I would have thrown a legit fit and probably would have been arrested. - I should have bought some swag afterwards - She should definitely do this annually. There is a high demand for it. Even my senior manager, when he saw me leaving the party for the concert, was like OMFG I HAVE TO BUY TIX FOR ME AND MY WIFE MARIAH IS AMAZING! And yes, he made sure to show me his tickets today. #theimpact - divorce looks damn good on her. #theend

Its pretty iconic and impressive that she could basically tour and make money on just Christmas material alone.

I think fans that are quick to jump on Mariah for including non-holiday songs are really missing a few key things. It is good for her brand to reintroduce the public to her non-holiday songs. There are only some people looking for her during the holidays, and it is good to remind them that their favorites: Rihanna, Katy Perry, Beyonce or whoever are not going to give them an Emotions, We Belong Together, Always Be My Baby, etc. She is a smart business woman to be introducing her music to a younger generation attending with their parents. It is also a nice gift to some who have been fans for years and maybe never had the opportunity to hear any of her non-holiday songs in a concert venue a chance to at least hear one or two.

Who on the planet, alive or dead, have not heard WBT? If she is going to do an oldie but goodie, give me Butterfly, give me Outside with the choir...ANYTHING but WBT.

Mimi being sued by her former assistant for 4,000 hours of overtime pay over 7 years. What a year for Mariah.

My point is it is a smart business move to put some of your non-holiday music out there for people who might not be looking for it. If she is making this an annual, family friendly event then why not use it as a platform to promote yourself and your music as a whole.

I'm convinced AIWFCIY, Holy Night and WBT were lipped. But that's fine because it seemed like everything else was on, and she tried a lot of notes and if she did lip, man was it very easy to be fooled. I was there last night as well and she was absolutely incredible. Disagree about the lipping- AIWFCIY had a backing track, but she was singing live the entire song, OHN was about 90% live (only the huge belts were lipped), and the last chorus of WBT was lipped (as usual). You can tell on the up-close videos when she is singing live- I couldn't believe that most of OHN was live either until I saw that- she literally sounds SO much like the 90's it's incredible. She sounded so good that the minimal lipping didn't bother me at all- she is human, after all. I have to say that HTHAS was my favorite performance. The way the curtain goes up and there's just a spotlight on her, taking her time with each note, sounding INCREDIBLE, looking like a queen- it's truly breathtaking. My friend who came with me (who is a casual fan) broke into tears a few times throughout the show- it's that good.

Mimi being sued by her former assistant for 4,000 hours of overtime pay over 7 years. What a year for Mariah. Why didn't she just ask her the money? It's not like Mariah is poor and couldn't pay her.
