^That much is speculated about the Ellen appearance. A show with such a theme would mean she'd have to perform "Someday." (As well as the other two lesser-performed No. 1s from the first album.) She could rework the song.. Maybe make it a ballad.

I can't take Bye Bye, ISIL, TAOLG, Last Kiss, Angels Cry, and Thirsty shade. Like, to be so bad you can't even stomach them?? I still love ya like freeze pop though, Josh! Anyway, at fans of female artists who try to sound aristocratic when they speak not even knowing basic grammar like the difference between "to" and "too". Illiterati Queen!

I can't beleive it's been 10 years since her "The Emancipation of Mimi" slayage. I've already started celebrating (and will all year). :'( We need to start trending on twitter with a hastag like #mimi10 or something better. Listening to the classic Stay the Night right now and the leaked version of Say Somethin' with the sample clearence tag for nostalgia :'( LOL! There are moments where I miss the "for sample clearance only" parts. It was seamlessly worked into the song.

That's a good one.@spiritanimalXtraCocoXtraCocoXtraCoco. DIDT is my least favorite on Rainbow, however, I still think I got into it more than THERE FOR ME. I like the part on DIDT where she sings "funny how sometimes, you can really lose your mind, and do things you would never do (did I do that?) you rhapsodize and get caught all up in the up in the hype til your senses return to you. love played you for a fool"There was so much lyrical shade in that it just the dry vocals, blandness and everything else lol " You were so insecure And your crew was so immature Conversations painfully weak You were much better off When you didn't speak" "DIDT" suffers from the rushed nature of the album. The dry vocals and poor mastering would likely have been improved had she taken her normal amount of time to complete the album. The workings for a good track are there. I've also never quite understood the dislike for "Boy." I think if it hadn't been a single, people would feel differently. It actually has a really solid melody, and the production is hot (retread or not). The song I cannot get into at all is "When I Saw You." There isn't really anything about that track I like. I replace it with "Slipping Away" on my iPod version of the album, and Daydream is then literal perfection.

I was just thinking the other day that "Angels Cry" is one of Mariah's best written love songs.
"True love's a gift, but we let it drift, in a storm, every night, I feel the angels cry."
That is some beautiful poetry. The production of the song lets it down, but I still love the song. It could have been amazing with a more modern, stripped-down sound.
Heat is Mariah's funniest song, and TAOLG remains one of my fave songs from her post-2000.
Her worst song is Boy (I Need You).

I love Last Kiss and I believe its Mimi's favorite track on that album. The others are great too, I'm indifferent towards Angels Cry though.

I love that her back up dancers have literally been doing the same routine since 2000. Rainbow tour looks like so much fun. I wish there was a full video of it somewhere.

All of her songs are listenable, but if I had to choose *one* as my least favorite that would be "Did I Do That?" That song is a mess. Runner ups: "Love Story" (bland with bad lyrics) and "Candy Bling" (this poor man's UTS is obnoxious and super overrated by the lambs).

I actually love DIDT. It's one of my favorites from Rainbow. It's so naughty and funky.
The only Mariah songs I cant stomach are all on Charmbracelet. I would tell you the names of the songs if I knew them; but because I refuse to listen to 2/3 of the album I don't even know their names!

I used to abhor Boy until I heard the DJ Vice remix. It was unofficial - but the song is actually enjoyable with that remix treatment.

I'm not sure anyone says "Candy Bling" is a classic, but I appreciate the nostalgic mood it sets. I also live for her ad-libs. She sings for the gawds! "Love Story" is bland in the production, but I still maintain that melody is beautiful. I remember when we got this [JD-less] clip of it most of us were foaming: You can tell from the gorgeous acoustic version, too, which I use as an interlude on my version of E=MC2:

I can't take all the disdain for Boy I Need You. I love it, and the video is so pretty. I love the live performances as well.
I love her hair and make up here and her torso and outfit. so hot

I kind of wish she had a new album leading up to this Vegas stint, so she could have something big to make the rounds about and some excitement for it.

Love story is a bop to me, its one of those r&b songs if taken in a different direction than what it ended up it could have been great. It has a beautiful sound but it loses steam somewhere in the middle where i just be over it and the production is lacking ad doesn't do it justice. It's still far better than most of the lazy dreary ballads on that album. The best ballad on E=MC2 is the album closer.

Rainbow tour looks like so much fun. I wish there was a full video of it somewhere. The Toronto show was filmed for a DVD release, but it never saw the light of day. :(

^If it's happening and at the same venue, it may not be as lengthy a tenure, as Dion probably will be returning at some point from her leave of absence.
On the subject of worst, I agree that "Boy (I Need You)" is one of her least likable singles. "Loverboy," too, but that at least has some campiness to it.

@ the opening for Vision of Love. NO other female has had such an iconic opening to her first single, written by herself when but a teenager. The ONE and ONLY Queen of Music. Legendary songwriter and vocalist. I will never forget when this song premiered. Her presence continues to be felt in the younger artists, who pay her homage and tribute on a regular basis. The royalties she gets ALONE for writing the number 1 Christmas song is just too much for me to comprehend. Her behind-the-scenes philanthropy and humanitarian efforts...the kind of personal love she gives to her fans...Recognized by her peers and industry greats alike as a premier vocalist. Pulling off an understated but ultimately effective role in one of the best movies of all time (Precious) and even harkening back to the great silent actresses of the Golden Years in The Butler. Having the most #1 songs of ANY solo artist. Like, that record could and probably will be broken one day, realistically, but she held that title unchallenged for so long, it will always be on her resume. Oh yeah, she wrote the majority of those songs as well. I don't even think I can list all the reasons why she is my #1 and why I will ALWAYS support her. Her music is something that everyone else on the planet could hate and I would still love because that's the kind of artist she is. Even her lesser songs like 100% inspire me to want to be the best person I can be, no matter how much I struggle. The woman has been through shit so it makes it even more relatable. Even at her cheesiest, she is pouring conviction into those lyrics from a personal place, not trying to sloganeer emptily.

So Nick Cannon is shooting a video TODAY with Mally Mall. Wasn't it Mally Mall who said nick was writing a diss record that Nick later denied?
Hope there's no weight to this.

Mariah is at her best in theaters because that's when her amazing vocals can truly shine and you feel the impact of all those amazing songs she has written. As someone who really cares about the sound and dynamics of a singer's voice, I would prefer to her a true singer in a place with good acoustics, not some shitty stadium. But, that's just me!

LOL Mally Mall, He is literally trash, looks like trash and his career is trash. Mariah Carey would never have allowed him to work with riff raff like that so i'm glad he gets to express his true self now.

I am listening to There For Me. I kind of discovered this song recently, like the last year or so (bad lamb, I know) and I low-key love it. There are a lot of magical moments in it. She definitely Ariana-mouths her way through the verses though and the production is too loud on top of her but still, pretty strong. Better than 99% of Rainblow and Uncharmedbracelet. And speaking of DIDT, it was a ratchet bop for me back then but eh...I'll take the ratchetness of Obsessed Remix with Gucci Mane. At least it's memorable and the rap parts are well integrated, not just Mystikal's frantic yelping.
