Thought it'd be neat to see what everyone has in their country CD collection, I'll list mine as soon as possible. Please comment and add which ones are your favorites and or first ones that got you hooked on country.

Well, I'm only 15 and only got really into music around 2009 so my first CD was actually Gloriana's debut.
My favorite album is Jason Aldean's 'My Kinda Party', closely followed by Eric Church's 'Chief'.

My favorite album is Jason Aldean's 'My Kinda Party', closely followed by Eric Church's 'Chief'. You're only 15?!? Shush. I had no idea. Now I feel ancient. My first country "album" was actually a cassette and it was George Strait Ocean Front Property . I was 8. :) When I was younger I was super into Kathy Mattea and Dolly Parton. In high school it was Clay Walker, Tim McGraw, Dixie Chicks, Lila McCann, King George, Alabama, Kenny Chesney, Brooks & Dunn, and Alan Jackson. I kind of moved away from country (other than George) from about '98 until '04. Then some guy named Dierks opened for some guy named George and I was back. In the past ten years I've evolved - I went from Rascal Flatts and Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean to Easton Corbin, Band Perry, Miranda Lambert, Kacey Musgraves, Ashley Monroe, Brandy Clark, Kellie Pickler, Carrie Underwood, Chris Young, Wade Bowen, Eli Young Band, Will Hoge and Green River Ordinance. And Dierks and George of course. I don't really enjoy a ton of current mainstream country outside of the artists above.

I was very young at the time but if I remember correctly the first album I listened to and owned that was considered country was 'Come On Over' by Shania Twain.

My first 2 albums I bought after listening to radio for awhile were the absolutely awful "Outlaws Like Me" by Justin Moore and "Thompson Square". I bought them seeing as I liked the lead single for both very much. That'll certainly teach me to not pre-listen to an album. I have a hundred CDs and a few vinyls now (and my wish list is 400 long and growing) so I won't list them all.

I love collecting entire discographies. I own every Martina album, every Faith album, every Trisha album, and I'm working towards owning every Reba album. I own almost every Terri album, almost every Tim album, almost every Keith album, almost every Garth album. The list could go on and on. I love purchasing music digitally, but I will never completely stop buying physical albums.

The link doesn't work unless it's your own collection. Just letting you know :) I'll post my collection later lol but I currently have 1,958 cd's, ~392 digital albums, 2 cassettes, & 5 vinyl albums. Most of my collection is 1990 onwards, though I'm trying to hunt down older stuff. Also I want to get a vinyl to mp3 converter so I can buy more music that is only on vinyl and transfere it.

Wow I wish I knew this website existed. I've been working on an Excel spreadsheet that is now almost 8,000 songs long, trying to get to 60-70k. This could have been much easier. At least I might be able to find some information via this one.

Here's my list. Let me know if it works. :) Collectionpart 2part 3edit: This is my entire collection. Important albums include my first album which was Brad Paisley's "Mud On The Tires" which I got for christmas 2003. The albums I grew up with which were my grandparents were George Strait "The Chill Of An Early Fall', Alan Jackson's 'Everything I Love' & 'A Lot About Livin'', George Jones' 'Super Hits' & 'One Woman Man', & Dwight Yoakam's 'Just Lookin' For A Hit'. Those were the albums that I most identify my youth with and infact up until I was about 5 they said I always thought all the guys singing on the radio were Alan Jackson lol. The first album that entranced me so much that I would sit there listening to over and over with was Shania Twain's "Come On Over" which was my aunts cd that she forgot in our car. I remember not knowing all the meaning behind the lyrics but loving all the songs so much that my parents went out and bought the other two albums for me. Once I knew that there was music out there beyond what my grandparents would listen to I was eager to discover more. I went and raided my dad's collection (Side note that my mother has never really cared either way about music and my father was more of a rock guy but didn't share his music with us kids cause he couldn't play it without head phones that my mother made him wear. I do wonder to this day how much my taste in music would've been different had he shared his stuff with me.). In my dad's collection I found a lot of stuff I liked but nothing caught my attention like the albums that were odd for him to own (as a mostly rock leaning listener), those albums were Madonna's 'The Immaculate Collection', Michael Jackson's 'Thriller', Celine Dion's 'The Power Of Love', & The Monkee's 'Greatest Hits'. Those exposed me to a world outside of country which for the next few years I would listen to almost exclusively until we got the CMT channel on our tv. At that point I got back into country full time and when it came time to start collecting my own cds I asked for Brad's 'Mud On The Tires' and then went from there. I don't remember at this point what order I got my albums in exactly but I do know that Terri Clark's "Pain To Kill' & Sara Evans' 'Restless' were the next two and were also the first two I bought with my own money. Those were very important to me learning to explore what's out there as I didn't know at the time that they already had multiple albums out on the market. Finally the last important album in shaping my listening habits came about a year and a half later when I was away for vacation and I stumbled upon an artist who had 4 albums out that I hadn't heard of and it intrigued me that somebody can have 4 albums but not be well known. Up until that point I hadn't ever bought anything that wasn't mainstream and I took a chance on the album despite it's $20 price point. When I got back to the hotel and listened to Kasey Chamber's 'Wayward Angel' album I fell in love with it, and I went back and bought the other 3 albums they had for sale. Ever since then i've learned to dig deep into the non-mainstream artists to discover some of my most favorite albums. So those are the albums I'd list as the most important albums in terms of developing my tastes in music.

My first album was likely something in the late '90s - probably Mark Wills' Wish You Were Here. I'm pretty sure I just listened to "Don't Laugh at Me" over and over again though. The first album I can recall really becoming immersed in and listening to front to back was Gary Allan's Alright Guy. My favorite album of all time is Rodney Crowell's The Houston Kid.
I've been listening to country music for as long as I can remember and have been avidly hoarding collecting albums since about 2006, so my collection is ridiculously huge - suffice it to say it's in the thousands. I listen to just about every area of country music: old and new, mainstream and alt/independent, all kinds of subgenres, and artists from Ernest Tubb to Eric Church, Bill Monroe to Mary Chapin Carpenter.

My first ever CD was Come On Over by Shania Twain. I bought it (Well my Dad did actually ;)) in 1999 and that's when the flood gates started. One of my favorite things to do when I was a kid was open that freshly bought album and listen to it start to finish. Here are some of the highlights of my collection:
Horse Of A Different Color - Big & Rich Comin To Your City - Big & Rich Twice The Speed Of Life - Sugarland Enjoy The Ride - Sugarland Smoke Rings In The Dark - Gary Allan Alright Guy - Gary Allan Tough All Over - Gary Allan Honkytonkville - George Strait Blue Clear Sky - George Strait Chill Of An Early Fall - George Strait Somewhere Down In Texas - George Strait (I'll stop with the George ones now) Weather The Storm - Carolina Rain Born To Fly - Sara Evans Restless - Sara Evans Real Fine Place - Sara Evans Part II - Brad Paisley Mud On The Tires - Brad Paisley Time Well Wasted - Brad Paisley Ride - Shelly Fairchild The Farm - The Farm My Town - Montgomery Gentry Level - Eli Young Band Sinners Like Me - Eric Church Jason Aldean - Jason Aldean Live Like You Were Dying - Tim McGraw Favourite Mistake - Autumn Hill Barn & Grill - Blake Shelton Country Is My Rock - Trent Tomlinson Hot Apple Pie - Hot Apple Pie Three Chord Country And American Rock & Roll - Keith Anderson Under The Influence - Alan Jackson Rainbow Man - Jeff Bates Same Trailer Different Park - Kacey Musgraves Fireflies - Faith Hill Days Of Our Lives - James Otto
OK time to stop :)

My first cd was Martina's "Greatest Hits". My parents had gone to see her in 1992 right as she was just starting out, and then decided to buy her greatest hits when they saw it on the shelf a decade later. Every single song is so awesome; I definitely wore that one out and became a fan for life! So of course then I set out on a quest to purchase everything she has ever released... The first album I actually purchased was "Wild Angels".
Now several years later, my collection looks more like this: -Everything Martina has released! -Everything Sara Evans -Everything George Strait -Everything Terri Clark -I am currently working on everything Reba McEntire -Random hits cds from Toby Keith, Brooks & Dunn, Phil Vassar, Trisha Yearwood, Faith Hill, etc. -Keith Urban, Be Here and Golden Road -Jason Michael Carrol's first two
I am a huge fan of collecting the entire works of my favorite artists, as you can see. I love the artists that were huge on the radio around 1995, because I hear songs now from that time period that I just somehow know from the days of my parents driving around with the radio on. I was only 2 years old, but I distinctly remember hearing the songs "Wild Angels", "The Fear of Being Alone", "Blue Clear Sky", "Check Yes Or No", "I Like It, I Love It", and "I'm From the Country" on the radio. So it's no wonder I gravitated towards people like George, Martina, and Reba when I got older and rediscovered how much of their music I just had somewhere inside of me as an ingrained memory from before I could remember. I will never stop loving the '90s artists, even now as their star powers are fading.

My CD collection is still growing. I have most of the good albums from the 90's and 2000's. I have every country CD released from 2010 until now. I have very few digital albums just mainly the ones that are drastically too high to purchase the CD version of online. I have some rare, hard to find CD's as well. My favorite CD out of them all would be hard to choose since there are so many great ones. Here are a few albums I like that I own the physical version of that come to mind.
Jason Aldean- My Kinda Party Tracy Lawrence- Strong Keith Harling- Write It In Stone Clay Davidson- Unconditional Rascal Flatts- Me And My Gang Joe Nichols- Crickets Blake Shelton- Based On A True Story Eric Church- Chief Eric Church- Carolina Jason Michael Carroll- Waitin' In The Country Jason Michael Carroll- Growing Up Is Getting Old Tim McGraw- Everywhere Tim McGraw- A Place In The Sun Phil Vassar- Self titled album Restless Heart- Fast Movin' Train Bryan White- self titled album Mindy McCready- Ten Thousand Angels Mindy McCready- If I Don't Stay The Night Blackhawk- self titled album Blackhawk- Strong Enough Clay Walker- Hypnotize The Moon John Michael Montgomery- Kickin' It Up
These are just a few that popped into my head but I know there are many more.

This seems like a Capital One commercial. What's in your wallet? :)
I first listened to country music back when pop stations regularly played country artists such as Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Ronnie Milsap, Eddie Rabbitt, Anne Murray, Crystal Gayle, etc. I believe the first country albums I bought were Kenny Rogers' The Gambler and Kenny. That was followed by late 70's albums from Anne Murray and Crystal Gayle (a graduate of my high school). Since then I've bought way too many to mention, but they're predominantly traditional country (sorry, Blake, but some old farts DO still buy music). Some of the more recent albums I've bought are Kacey Musgraves, Ashley Monroe, Gene Watson & Rhonda Vincent's duets album, George Strait, Alan Jackson (both his Precious Memories 2 and Bluegrass albums), Don Williams (I have his comeback album from a couple years ago and I've pre-ordered his upcoming album), both Alabama tribute albums, Vince Gill & Paul Franklin's Bakersfield, and most recently Rhonda Vincent's double-CD bluegrass and traditional country album. From comments on this board I think Charlie Worsham may be next on my list. I also have in mind to get Suzy Bogguss' Merle Haggard tribute album.

I have mainly Rock/Christian CDs, but my first country album that I ever got was Luke Bryan's Crash My Party.
The only other country album I got was Parmalee's Feels Like Carolina (I consider them an Alternative Country Rock)

I am mainly a country guy, but I have spent a fair amount of time expanding into other genres over the past couple years. I am soon to get George Strait's self-titled and Jerrod Niemann's "Free The Music". I hope to get some older stuff soon, like some Waylon or Willie. *Oh, country cd collection? That changes it. Looking at my list, I guess I'm somewhat to blame for male dominance in country music... My solo female list is very tiny compared to the male one and the group one. Haha George Strait Junkie I have a Cledus T Judd album too!

Without listing everything I have, the first cassette I bought was Randy Travis' Storms Of Life, the first CD was Conway Twitty's Silver Anniversary Collection (later got it on cassette in Toronto of all places), and the first box set was Garth Brooks' Limited Series (1998).
