Well...he better be ready to go Indie and struggle then but if he loves making music, it won't matter. Look at Lee DeWyze. He can still get a couple of people to see him at a bar.

He's had enough success where I wouldn't surprised to see another major pick him up, though even an indie like ATO wouldn't be all that bad a fit for him. (And maybe they'd actually release the better tracks on his albums as singles to AAA. )

I fully support him on this as I felt his second album didn't represent him at all. I'm getting a feeling his career could play out the same as Kelly's career.

I can see him getting picked up by a label like Vanguard (like Lee) and have minor success there. I don't think he'll ever be able to live up to the success from his debut, but he could get something decent along the way.

His sophomore was MUCH better than his debut. I loved how much they incorporated strings to give it a more epic feel.

I'm getting a feeling his career could play out the same as Kelly's career. LOL! Are you serious? Kelly's little spat with her label is nothing like this plus Kelly was a superstar by then. Phillip is not. I generally would support what Phillip is saying, but you know what, he knowingly signed those contacts and went on the show. If he wanted to control his own career, then he should have played out in the bars and got signed the same way singer/songwriters have always done - through lots of hard work and a little bit of luck. Instead he took the quick route and now he's not satisfied with the results....thus, they are hampering my career, etc., etc. I like Phillip but I just don't feel for him on this issue.
