I thought the label could've sent out "Nashville Without You" and the album would've been better..??? I am really enjoying Meanwhile Back at Mamas - and Faith's harmonies are very nice to listen to! This is the type of stuff Tim used to record- kind of like the 97-99 era.??

This one has grown on me a lot. It wasn't instant for me, but now I am really enjoying this one a lot. I'm glad it's been performing strongly and I hope it goes all the way to the top, which would certainly make up for the terrible single that preceded it, not unlike the two great singles that followed "Truck Yeah." His last album was a mixed bag for me, but I'm looking forward to this one on the strength of this and the good tracks from his last. Same here. This hasn't been instant, but I really really like it now. There aren't many songs I like right now in the current top 40 list, but this is a stand out. It actually sounds like country music. :) :)

I can't get enough of this. It's my favorite Tim single in his last 3 or 4 albums. I just hope Tim doesn't return to his "Looking For That Girl" and "Southern Girl" ways with this era's singles.

Beautiful, beautiful video. I just loved everything about it. I'd love for this to be this year's "Highway Don't Care" and take home some of the same awards because this is another fantastic collaboration with a stellar video treatment much like that song.

I love this song and video. Faith's dress is beautiful and great to see Tim in a tuxedo for a change. Also like the way they switch back and forth from the comforts of home to everyone in a tuxedo and Faith's dress and still beautiful and great to have her back in the Top 20.

It's extremely exasperating to me and many others on this board that Tim can take scintillating tunes such as this and turn them into exceptional pieces of music, yet incomprehensibly goes into the studio from time to time to record stone-cold trainwrecks such as 'Truck Yeah' and 'It's A Business Doing Pleasure With You'; he hasn't matched the level of exasperation which folks such as Trace Adkins and Phil Vassar have reached with far too many underwhelming-or-worse songs to count, but he's getting closer.
Here's hoping he'll continue to stick with standouts such as this gem, 'My Little Girl' and the absolutely flawless 'Better Than i Used To Be', which alongside 'For A Little While' would be my choices as the three best singles he's recorded to date which reached the top 5 without making it to #1.
If it were up to me, this wonderful song would spend at least a month at #1; it's really that good IMHO.

the song hit the top ten this week so happy particularly for Faith the last time she got into the top ten was 2007 when I Need You peaked at #8 their lowest charting duet up until then most of their earlier duets had gone top 5 at country both on the charts and airplay

In ascending order, the Tim McGraw/Faith Hill duet is at #14 on the airplay chart, #13 on the mongrel chart, and #12 on the rolling chart in MediaBase. Almost there.

If this makes the top 10 this week along with drunk, dance, riverbank that would be 4 new top 10 songs in the same week.
When was the last time that happened ? cause i dont remember it for at least a while.

This song had to grow on me. But now I absolutely love it. The imagery and the melody take me back many years.
I thought Tim would have a hard time topping Highway Don't Care as far as new additions to his catalogue. I was wrong.

Thrilled to see this in the top 5 already. If Billy and Lee split Mediabase this week, then maybe Dierks can have 1-2 weeks afterwards, leaving the door open for Tim & Faith. If so, this will be my favourite #1 song in years.

As Am I Faith hasn't had a top five country hit in more than eight years since The Lucky One peaked at #5 in May 2006 it's also weird that Shotgun Rider appears on Sundown Heaven Town as it had already been an Album Track on Let It Go in 2007 this is their 7th duet to make the top ten of the Country Singles chart the only released one that missed the top 20 was When The Lights Go Down in 2003

This is a different "Shotgun Rider" He debuted it on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon earlier this year. You can find it on Youtube.

With four songs on iTunes can we go ahead and start a "Listening Party" thread for Sundown Heaven Town? Or do we need to wait for a full album listen link?

"When The Lights Go Down" wasn't a Tim/Faith duet, though. To the best of my recollection, they've never had a duet miss the top 10. "I Need You" at #8 is their lowest peaking duet (due to the 'double single' fiasco with that and "If You're Reading This").

"If You're Reading This" definitely hindered the final peak for "I Need You" (#7 on MB, #8 on BB) as it could have been a #1 single and a slam dunk top 5 single, but fiasco is a bit too strong I feel since "If You're Reading This" got to #3 too, and both were on the charts at the same time for much of their chart run. If you want "Fiasco" - look no further than the next single, "Suspicions". AKA: Worst single decision of all-time.

Yeah, maybe that was too strong, but I really do feel like they cost themselves two #1 hits by releasing them both at essentially the same time. Had that not happened, and "If You're Reading This" had come after "I Need You" had peaked, I really think that they both would have reached #1. But yeah, the single releases from Let It Go were full of 'fiascos'

Just make sure you link to somewhere where we can listen to each of the 4 already-released songs. And just a reminder, listening party threads go in the sub-board now :)

In the minority obviously, but I'm not a fan of this one.
Tim sounds so bored.
