Any have 1989's weekly sales up through this point? I know it's rather easy information to find... but I'm too lazy. I'd just love to know how many copies it's selling on average per week (with and without week #1).

Her Billboard cover is ridiculously beautiful. ![](http://40.media.tumblr.com/e619b7023fea70bc3ead458e1897b107/tumblr_ng2zsfsot41qd3quqo1_1280.jpg) This is SO stunning. Great that she got three nominations for SIO, but it better not f**k up her chances of getting nominated in SOTY/ROTY with the more worthy Blank Space/Style/Out of the Woods(?)/Wildest Dreams(?) at the next show. Mentally willing Adele to wait until after the next Grammy deadline to release so Taylor actually has a chance. Also, so happy that 1989 and the singles are doing so well on year-end lists. In the top ten of all albums with such an unabashedly POP release is pretty damn amazing.

It will be amazing if Taylor win the Grammys. Another beautiful scenario is Taylor tying Katy and MJ's record, then, releasing Bad Blood as the sixth single and it reach #1 just to spite Katy. In another note, I don't even care about the Grammy or the record, they're irrelevant anyway, I really just want to see the chaos that follow while being like: ![](https://31.media.tumblr.com/2e034a092869854734b3bbb6ec1048aa/tumblr_inline_n4ybewokW41rgf4al.gif) But seriously, if the second scenario happen, imagine the Katy Perry thread. They will probably already sweating profusely once the fifth single reach #1 and the sixth single is announced while praying to God (If they believe in one anyway) that the sixth single won't reach #1. Then, finding out the 6th one is Bad Blood. It will be so great to watch. (Sorry for my rambling)

I'm a huge Taylor Swift fan and I'm a huge Katy Perry fan so I am unable to take sides on this feud. I'll just sit back and watch as I listen to 1989 and TD
Taylor is gonna have to work hard to match or even break the record. It's not easy getting 5 #1's off one album. Taylor should first release the singles that could get to #1 on their own (Out of the Woods, Style) and then release the songs that could get to #1 with some type of boost (Bad Blood remix) cause by the time single 5 or 6 are released, there might not be enough sales to get them to #1. But I'm sure Taylor could get #1 with massive airplay and streaming (music video)

There's gonna have to be a remx for Tay to get six #1s. That, or some serious manipulation (ie withhold track sales until video debut week) by the time this era starts to wrap up.

Yeah Taylor clearly does NOT care about billboard hot 100 peaks. She is actively rejecting streaming which already handicaps her and there is no way in hell she would ever shove out quickie remixes or deep discounts of singles which is pretty much necessary to get those last few singles to #1. Her focus is very clearly on album sales+overall impact which, when all is said and done, she is absolutely slaying. I hate the word slay and don't even use it anymore, but that is exactly what Taylor is doing.

I mean, I don't think she doesn't NOT care about Hot 100 #1's, if there's anyone in the industry that's aware of her peak positions it is Taylor. I just think their main focus is album sales, but that's where they get the most gain. That said, it's pretty obvious that they choreographed Blank Space's release so that it would skyrocket to #1, and if the third single goes to #1, just based on hype alone, which is very possible, they may start thinking about breaking the record, which I'm sure Scott is aware of. They didn't think she could break the biggest first week of sales by a female record, they were just aiming at a 1M+ debut and once it was within reach that's what they started to push for, so...it's not really a stretch. She can have sales AND #1's, it doesn't have to be one or the other.

I am sure she loves hitting #1, but I just don't see it as her focus or priority especially when she is knowingly handicapping every single one of her singles for the entire era due to streaming. There is no way her later singles will hit #1 without that and/or other tactics that people have used (quickie overnight remixes, deep discounts on itunes for singles, etc). I don't ever see her doing those, but maybe I am wrong and her team will switch tactics and we will see the Kanye West remix of Bad Blood and then they will discount it to 69 cents lol.

Why did I just now see her performance with Fall Out Boy at the VSFS 2013? That was amazing??? Devastated we never got a studio version of that.

Am I the only one that's starting to get annoyed with all the kaylor~ bs? It was cute for a while but it's borderline bizarre now. It's annoying how many posts I see on Tumblr about it daily too. Like, I mean, I get it, and I get that most of it is exaggeration that comes from fans but...bring it down to a 6. It's at a 14 right now.

My dad doesn't know about Taylor a lot, cause she is not so known in my country. He knows I love Taylor, and today he asked me that if Taylor was lesbian, I WAS LIKE DA FUQ?, he told he saw on the TV news that she had a new girlfriend and she was a victoria secret model ._______.

Sorry to keep posting these (third on this page alone), but I genuinely didn't think she would rank on pretty much every worthwhile year end list. 1989 is kind of killing it, easily the most critically acclaimed mainstream pop album of recent years. The A.V. Club - #15 PopMatters - #15 NPR - 50 Best Albums of the Year (alphabetical list) "Shake It Off" Drowned In Sound - #15

But, YAAAS QUEEN!

Their second clue even references Taylor's own elevator button mashing clue (from before 1989 was announced) into theirs lol. http://instagram.com/p/wWJyrPuxt_ http://instagram.com/p/wZEn0euxsb
