Hard it believe it's been nearly 8 years since her last album!

Tiny fraction of a snippet included in her CBS This Morning profile that aired today; not quite the club banger the title may have implied.

I have a feeling I will not like the album or song... We will see... Even that single art is a bit off for me It took me several moments to realize it is Alanis on it for some reasons I was sure she has short hair like in Everything video...

And she just announc3d Jagged little pill 25 anniversary tour
Alanis Morissette has announced a 25th anniversary tour of Jagged Little Pill, with support from Liz Phair and Garbage, who both supported Morissette’s 1998 tour. She’s also announced a new album, Such Pretty Forks in the Road, out May 1. It’s her first since 2012’s Havoc and Bright Lights. Below, listen to “Reasons I Drink” from the record.

I will definitely be going to this tour. As for the song...it started out promising but it sounds terribly dated.

I don't like the song to be honest
First, her voice has changed it seems
second, this is too similar to that Emelie Sande's song

I don’t think her voice has changed, she’s just using it differently.
Decent song. I hope to go to that concert.

The songs great!! Maybe not as potent as some of her other songs. Looking forward to the upcoming album. Her albums are full of gems!

Not going to that tour. I’m not spending 140-200 for tickets. I know it’s worth it, but just can’t bring myself to spend that much. Plus, I’d be paying for whoever to go with me, which is why it would be such a hit to my wallet. Presage tickets are going fast though.
I’m loving the song, been playing it daily.
As for her weight, yeah, it’s pregnancy weight that she hasn’t gotten off yet. I’ve never seen her so thick, but it’s cute and I understand it ain’t easy.

In the Autumn, I listened through all of her albums and, in the spirit of Ajayll on YouTube, removed tracks that just don't do it for me. As we wait for Such Pretty Forks in the Road, check out my removals below and see how it stacks up against your favorite Alanis tracks! Also, feel free to roast me for what I kept or got rid of. [NOTE: I did not dig up her Canadian Teen Pop albums, I started with JLP] Jagged Little Pill{Spoiler}SURPRISE!!! I removed nothing! This album is perfect.

As we wait for Such Pretty Forks in the Road, check out my removals below and see how it stacks up against your favorite Alanis tracks! Also, feel free to roast me for what I kept or got rid of. I'll try this based on memory Jagged Little Pill{Spoiler}
All I Really Want You Oughta Know Perfect Hand In My Pocket Right Through You Forgiven You Learn Head Over Feet Mary Jane Ironic Not the Doctor Wake Up You Oughta Know [Remix] Your House
They're all keepers! Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie{Spoiler} Front Row
Baba Thank U
Are You Still Mad? Sympathetic Character That I Would Be Good The Couch Can't Not UR I Was Hoping
One Would Not Come Unsent So Pure Joining You Heart of the House
Your Congratulations
Over the years, different songs from this eventually made their way out for me, particularly the last two tracks. But at 17 tracks, it's still quite long. So I cut a few. Under Rug Swept{Spoiler} 21 Things I Want in a Lover Narcissus Hands Clean Flinch
So Unsexy Precious Illusions That Particular Time
A Man You Owe Me Nothing in Return Surrendering Utopia
Cutting was hard from this album but at the risk of keeping every song ever, I just cut out So Unsexy and A Man, both solid B songs among an album of B+ to A- tracks. So-Called Chaos{Spoiler} Eight Easy Steps Out is Through Excuses Doth I Protest Too Much Knees of My Bees So-Called Chaos Not All Me
This Grudge Spineless
Everything
Everything is an easy last on this album. This Grudge I like but does kind of dampen the album so that can go too. Flavors of Entanglement{Spoiler}
Citizen of the Planet Underneath Straitjacket
Versions of Violence Not as We In Praise of the Vulnerable Man Moratorium Torch Giggling Again for No Reason Tapes Incomplete Orchid
The Guy Who Leaves Madness Limbo No More
On the Tequila
This album is so mixed for me because I super enjoy the slower tracks while the mid and uptempo ones are the ones that kind of throw it off for me. Straitjacket was borderline. On The Tequila I used to really enjoy but I'd cut it now and move it to b-side status. The rest can stay to become a solid album. Havoc and Bright Lights{Spoiler} Guardian Woman Down
Til You
Celebrity Empathy Lens Spiral Numb
Havoc Win and Win Receive
Edge of Evolution
This album just didn't stick with me but when I gave it a quick recap, I think maybe it could have but the songs I didn't care you (Til You, Celebrity, Havoc - which doubles as so called chaos part 2) just made me kind of give up. Empathy and Receive are both epic songs and Guardian was a great lead single. I put the songs I'm less familiar with but like the sound of in italics Feast on Scraps and Other Songs{Spoiler} Fear of Bliss Bent for You Sorry 2 Myself Sister Blister Offer Unprodigal Daughter
Simple Together Purgatorying Crazy Princes Familiar
Mercy Still Uninvited
Let's Do It (Let's Fall In Love)
Alanis has a surprisingly strong listing of b-sides. Most of the ones listed here are ace! I also think her cover of Let's Do It Let's Fall In Love is probably the best vocal performance she's ever put on record. But the style isn't what I look for from her so I cut it out. Mercy we won't mention at all.

Devil Marlena Nylund "Mercy" is an AMAZING vocal on a track I don't want to listen to more than once. Hence why I cut it also. And I 100% agree about Havoc, it's so boring I just want it to be over. "Baba" surprises me though, as I love the aggression in that one.

"Baba" surprises me though, as I love the aggression in that one. Havoc has the same melody in the verses as So Called Chaos (the song), which is a superior song anyway. I do like Baba but in the interest of the record, it just kind of sits there for me. Of the songs I cut from the album, that one would probably be at the top but if I skip it, I don't feel like I've missed out.

I don't care for Reasons I Drink, it sounds unmixed. Like they just demo vocal on top of the track and called it finished.

HOLY f**k!!! I went to see Jagged Little Pill the musical yesterday and it was an experience. It was such a heart wrenching, necessary piece of theater. Not only was the staging, lighting, and choreography quite captivating for not having a hard and fast set, but the story packs in soooooooooooooo much: the opioid crisis, school shooter drills, dysfunctional families, sustaining relationships, the ennui of suburban America, coming out and coming of age, race, privilege, workaholism, perfectionism, sexual assault, religious intolerance, being a caregiver, love languages, mutual healing & support, community healing and connectedness, and more. I was in awe of how much was packed into this show while it still remained a cohesive gut-punch of a story. I can also never hear "Uninvited" the same way because it was used {Spoiler}as a chilling, haunting, beautiful piece when one of the characters overdoses and nearly dies. They also went there by {Spoiler}showing a rape scene via slow-motion choreography. It was terrible and heartbreaking and beautifully rendered. I cried several times during the show and again as I drove home from the train station. There were also funny, cute, and lighter moments like teen love and lashing out a the fakeness of suburbanites. They did a fun inversion where the main character of color and a queer supporting character got most of the plot tropes usually saved for straight, white characters while all the straight, white people were raked over the coals and broken down. Unless the content would trigger a panic attack or trauma flashback, I HIGHLY recommend that everyone sees this show. Also one of the new songs is where her next album title comes from.

And why did she end the song with creamy rogether Of all other possibilities?
I have been wondering about this line and ending for some time now

Smiling is very familiar ground for Alanis but is 10x better than Reasons I Drink. Instant classic!
(It has also already been available on the jagged little musical broadway soundtrack)

She always starts with one word and then says the rest of the line/lyrics. That song does not do it for me. Come on, Alanis. Give us some growth. That disco looking album cover had me slightly excited.
I repeatedly played Reasons I Drink, this new one won’t get a second spin.
