The original title for "Tim McGraw" by Taylor Swift was "When You Think Tim McGraw".
Scott Borchetta suggested the change to Taylor to help create a bigger buzz for Taylor's debut single. He also stated that the shortening would help as well with the "less is more" approach.

Should have used that approach with We Are Never Ever Like Forever Ever Never Not Ever Getting Back Together....like Ever

The crowd of heads in Jo Dee Messina's video for "Delicious Surprise" were shot at the Taste of Country concert in Buffalo, NY. The video for "Country Folks Livin' Loud" by the Lost Trailers also uses concert crowd footage. I saw them in Imlay City, Michigan shortly after the single came out, and they used some footage of us for the video. If you see some guy on the far right side sitting down on a rock at any point in the video, it's me. (I was sitting because my back was killing me.) * Clay Davidson was the only Virgin Records Nashville artist who did not make the transfer to Capitol Records Nashville. * The longest continuous chart run of the 1980s went to "You Can't Stop Love" by S-K-O, which only got to #9 aftter 29 weeks. Right behind it, Glen Campbell and Steve Wariner's "The Hand That Rocks the Cradle" only went to #6 but had a 28-week run. * Similarly, the fifth-longest chart run of the 1970s is "To Get to You" by Jerry Wallace, which spent 22 weeks on but only got to #12. * Four different renditions of "So Sad to Watch Good Love Go Bad" charted, but none made Top 10: it charted by Hank Jr. and Lois Johnson, by Connie Smith, by Steve Wariner, and by Emmylou Harris. * Similarly, five covers of The Platters' "Only You" have charted: Norro Wilson, Freddie Hart, Reba McEntire, Statler Brothers, and Travis Tritt, although no version made Top 10. * A DJ named Karl Shannon assembled a studio band called the Bandit Brothers for a one-off parody of "Men" by the Forester Sisters titled "Women", which charted for a few weeks. * Ray Stevens charted in the top 40 of both country and pop with a rendition of "In the Mood" done entirely in chicken clucks as the "Henhouse Five Plus Too". * A studio group from Muscle Shoals called "Bama" had a minor hit with "Touch Me When We're Dancing" in 1979, before both the Carpenters and Alabama had hits with it. Bama broke up after only one album, but its members wrote "Even the Nights Are Better" for Air Supply, as well as hits for the Forester Sisters (for whom they also produced), Highway 101, and others. * Juice Newton charted a song called "Restless Heart" only three months before the group of the same name made its first chart entry in January 1985. * Although it was a Top 5 hit, Brooks & Dunn's "You'll Always Be Loved by Me" is not on their second Greatest Hits album. And yet "South of Santa Fe", their lowest-charting single, is. * "Just What I Do" was the only Trick Pony single that did not have Heidi Newfield singing lead (Keith Burns sang lead instead). * In 1967, the entire roster of RCA Nashville got together to record the track "Chet's Tune" in tribute to Chet Atkins. It got to #38 and was credited to "Some of Chet's Friends". * Brett Beavers and Deryl Dodd sing backing vocals on Martina McBride's The Way That I Am.

BTW: I have the album but not the album booklet; the lead vocals on "Can't Say That On The Radio"; is that Ira or Keith?

Hopefully this is the right thread but I'm sure a lot would find this interesting ;) it's a boxers or briefs list. This is from numerous sources such as interviews. These are ones from interviews I have seen or read. If anybody has additions or corrections, feel free to add.
Kenny Chesney- Both Dustin Lynch- Briefs Sam Hunt- Briefs Jason Aldean- Boxers off stage, briefs while performing Jake Owen- Commando Dierks Bentley- Boxers Billy Currington- Boxer-Briefs Scotty McCreery- Briefs, but "depends on what's going on" Charles Kelley- Boxers Luke Bryan- Under Amour underwear(not sure if it would be considered, boxers, briefs, boxer briefs or whatever) Craig Campbell- Briefs

* Nick Hoffman once said that if The Farm had released a third single from their debut album it would have been "Sweet Sweet Sunshine".
* The Warren Brothers had to be convinced to include the lyric "Wake up laughing" on Martina's "How I Feel" because they thought it made no sense and have never woken up laughing. Funny how Martina decided to name the album that.
* Craig Morgan once said that his label almost went with "International Harvester" as the lead single from Little Bit Of Life.

Audra Mae, (co-writer of Miranda's current single), also had a hand in cowriting Kelly Clarkson's current single, "Heartbeat Song."

George Strait has recorded two unrelated songs entitled "She'll Leave You With a Smile." One is an album cut on his 1997 album Carrying Your Love With Me, and the other is the more well-known hit single from his 2001 album The Road Less Traveled. (Does anyone know of any other examples of this happening?) The Oak Ridge Boys recorded 2 separate songs with the SAME title. "You're The One" 1977- You're The One - Album: Y'All Come Back Saloon (The famous single) 1983- "You're The One - Album: American Made (different song not a single)

^ They also released two different songs titled "Come On In" only a few years apart. However, one was subtitled "Come On In (You Did The Best You Could Do)". Interestingly, both went to #3.

When you say Miranda and Tim songs are a duet version and solo version it is the SAME song? If so then it's not the same as George Strait or the Oak Ridge Boys. Those are different songs altogether just same title.

Those are different songs altogether just same title. My example fits. One song called "Shotgun Rider" is an album track from his 2007 "Let It Go" album. The other song is another song also called "Shotgun Rider" that is his most recent hit. They are both different though

So on CT40 today, Bob Kingsley said that Jason Aldean originally wanted his latest album to be called "Just Gettin' Started" instead of "Old Boots New Dirt"

It's a cool title but given the content, the 'new dirt' part is misleading.

If you look at George Strait on the cover of his "Greatest Hits Vol.2" you get a dead ringer for what my dad looked like (minus the cowboy hat) so ironic since he hated country music... just finding this out now is a little creepy to me

The only duet Gary Allan has done to date, is with Willie Nelson on the track "A Showman's Life" from Gary's "See If I Care" album.

Willie Nelson had seven top ten hits in 1983. Only one #1 to show for it. His hit list that year was:
1. Last Thing I Needed First Thing This Morning-#2 2. Everything's Beautiful In It's Own Way-with Dolly Parton-#7-this duet could be compared to Whiskey Lullaby in the beautifully chilling category 3. Reasons To Quit-with Merle Haggard-#6 4. Little Old Fashioned Karma-#10 5. Pancho And Lefty-with Merle Haggard-#1-finally! 6. Why Do I Have To Choose-#3 7. Take It To The Limit-with Waylon Jennings-#8

Oops. The incorrect "it's" bothers me too.

-Unless I'm overlooking one (distinct possibility), the only Brooks & Dunn song that Kix and Ronnie both sang lead on was the duet "Born and Raised in Black and White."
